Kontserdiarvustus 19. augustil 2014 toimus Tartu laululaval All Stars Summer 2014. Veebruaris 2015 võistleb Demie lugu „Kuum“ koos Janice-ga Eesti Laul 2015 poolfinaalis. Lavale astusid ka deejayd. Üritust alustas Marc De Luigi ja edasi tulid Rein-...
The Cataclysmic Death of Stars Republished from the pages of National Geographic magazine Written by Ron Cowen March 2007 Ever since he was a teenager, Stan Woosley has had a love for chemical elements and a fondness for blowing things up. Growing up in the late 1950s in Texas, "I did everything you could do with potassium nitrate, perchlorate, and permanganate, mixed with a lot of other things," he says. "If you mixed potassium nitrate with sulfur and charcoal, you got gunpowder. If you mixed it with sugar, you got a lot of smoke and a nice pink fire." He tested his explosive concoctions on a Fort Worth golf course: "I screwed the jar down tight and ran like hell." "kaboomWoosley", now an astronomer at the University of California at Santa Cruz, has graduated to bigger explosions--much bigger. Woosley studies some of the most powerful explosions since the birth of the universe: supernovae, the violent deaths of stars. The universe twi...
Eating disorders I think that eating disorder is a very serious subject and everybody should know how to eat properly. Many famous film stars, singers and pop arts go on a diet to lose weight. There's nothing wrong with that but you have to know where to draw the line. Being on a diet may seriously affect your mind and body and not in a good way. We also see many over-weight people. That is another extreme. Over-weight is not good for your heart and its actions. It severely damages your heart work and simultanously causes many heart problems. It also shortens your life, too. When people say the appearance of waif-like models in the media may send a dangerous message about eating disorders, general fitness, fashion magazines and television shows with thin characters also play a key role in infuluencing irregular eating patterns. Wll, I think they're right because people take stars as exaples and want ...

A book worth reading A year ago I managed to find time to read an extremely profound book entitled The Fault in Our Stars. This tragic, yet realistic drama was written by John Green, a famous author of young-adult fiction, and it provides a valuable insight into the life of children fighting with cancer. The Fault in Our Stars is about a teenage girl Hazel, who has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Hazel’s daily routine contains taking meds, reading books and taking part of the support group meetings for cancer- fighters. In the support group she meets an extraordinarily handsome boy Augustus, who, full of metaphores and mystery, catches Hazel’s attention immediately. As the plot evolves, these two spectacularily appalling figures get close and share unique experiences. Together they help out a friend dealing with the loss of a girlfriend, travel to the Netherlands to meet Hazel’s favourite author and much more. Unlike any other teenage-cliche ...

Good and bad points of being rich and famous Many people want to become rich and famous. They want to compare themselves with movie stars, top athletes and other successful persons. The reason for this may be the media, because all the media tells to us is how good and positive is the life of riches. Being rich may be truly wonderful. No need to worry about the money. We can buy everything what we desire and travel to exotic countries. on the other hand you cannot buy such a things like love and conscience However, eveything has also it's negative sides - same for the money. With all the fame and wealth comes also big attention - paparazzis and a lot more uncomfortable. As we gain more money, the more people wants to become our friends. Another bad side in being rich and famous is that famous people doesn't often have any private life - everybody wants to know everything about you and criticize you....

National Symbols of New Zealand New Zealand flag History The idea of the flag of New Zealand was first introduced in 1830, because of trading troubles. At that time, a trading ship built inNZ, Sir George Murray was seized in Sydney by Customs officials for sailing without a flag or register. Australia, which was the most important trading partner for NZ had British navigation laws which ruled that every ship must carry an official certificate detailing construction, ownership and nationality of the ship. The problem was that during that period of time, NZ was not yet a colony ofGreat Britan, thats why the NZ-built ships could not sail under a British flag or register. Without a flag to represent the new nation, trading ships and their valuable cargoes would continue to be seized (held by the Australian customs (toll) The Australians called for signing a legislation to remove any obstacles to New Zealand's incre...

This is something that has had me in two minds for a very long time, why does humanity waste so much time and money on sport and the pursuit of sport when realistically it is just a sideshow, a morale booster for the masses? The sheer volume of money spent each year on sports are actually absolutely ridiculous. Sports have become a monster that is beyond our control. This happens as legitimate scientific research struggles to find funding or a struggle along with tiny handouts from patronising governments around the world. Space exploration is probably the prime example in that it is now, at this stage of human development, more important than ever before that we find ways to make space inhabitable. But instead NASA has become a bit of a joke to the public and space exploration the stuff of B- grade horror movies. The question we have to ask ourselves is this, do sports stars really deserve to be paid five times the salary of a scientis...
Stuck in Love is a 2012 American independent romantic-drama film written and directed by Josh Boone. The film stars Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, Nat Wolff and Logan Lerman. It focuses on the complicated relationships between a successful novelist, ex-wife and their collegiate daughter and teenage son. Stuck in Love is an endearing drama about the different shades of love as experienced by the members of a family used to expressing their feelings through their creative writing. Lily Collins steals the movie with her nuanced depiction of Samantha's transformation once she surrenders to a person who really loves her and wants all the best for her. Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly both enable us to feel for them and to understand the leap of faith it will take for them to start afresh. And Nat Wolff is appealing as the teenager whose life is rocked by his relationship with Kate.

DENOTATIVE AND CONNOTATIVE MEANINGS IN MOTION GRAPHICS TEXT For Multimedia Semiotics To begin with, what is motion graphics? Motion Graphics is a piece of video which is created digitally in a computer and as the name refers bases on moving graphical elements. These elements can be images, text, graphical designs or a multidimensional imagery. But this term should not be confused with another term ,,animation". Line between these two is a bit blurred. Animation often is only giving life to the characters and scenery. Also, it can be done in real world with physically created sets. Motion graphics on the other hand can be only created in digital world and could include animation. But also there are more two very important aspects desing and cinematohraphy. Therefore when talking about motion graphics it means moving graphycally created elements in a beatiful way. Motion graphics is pretty rece...
Film review A film I have enjoyed recently is The Beach. What made me want to see it was the title first of all, and I also heard that my favourite actor Leonardo Di Caprio plays in that film. The main character is a young American man who travels to Thailand in search of the perfect vacation. During a stay in Bangkok, he meets a mysterious man who tells him about a secret beach. Richard then heads for southern Thailand in search of the island. Along the way, he meets a young French couple, Françoise and Étienne and he shares the secret of the island with them. The three then start to find the island and finally they get there. Heading further inland, they find a hidden beach where a small clan of travellers has settled. After their arri...

Moulin Rouge A film I really like is "Moulin Rouge". It's a film made in collaboration between the USA and Australia. The film is set in the beginning of 20 th century in Paris. The main character is a poor English poet Christian who meets a group of bohemians who tell him that he should write a musical play for them to be played at the Moulin Rouge. The Life of Dante, the Inferno of Dante Dante Alighieri, one of the greatest poets of the Middle Ages, was born in Florence, Italy on June 5, 1265. He was born to a middle-class Florentine family. At an early age he began to write poetry and became fascinated with lyrics. During his adolescence, Dante fell in love with a beautiful girl named Beatrice Portinari. He saw her only twice but she provided much inspiration for his literary masterpieces. Her death at a young age left him grief-stricken. His first book, La Vita Nuova, was written about her. Sometime before 1294, Dante married Gemma Donati. They had four children. Dante was active in the political and military life of Florence. He entered the army as a youth and held several important positions in the Florence government during the 1290's. During his life, Florence was divided politically between Guelphs and Ghibellines. The Guelphs supported the church and liked to keep thi...

How has the nature of fame changed? Imagine two celebrities standing in front of you: Audrey Hepburn and Kim Kardashian? Is there anything different in the way they are or how they became famous? Back in the day, celebrities were presented as incomparably glamorous, flawless beings, closer to gods than humans. Fame was controlled not by the famous and certainly not by the audience, but by the owners of the media. The lives of the rich and the famous used to be mysterious and even inexplicable. It was so foreign and artificial a construct that we thought that fame made you special. The rise of reality TV, however, was a major step in the changing nature of celebrity. “Normal people” became stars overnight. The dominance of smartphones and social media has meant that the public records everyth...

The History Of Flag Day The Fourth of July was traditionally celebrated as America's birthday, but the idea of an annual day specifically celebrating the Flag is believed to have first originated in 1885. BJ Cigrand, a schoolteacher, arranged for the pupils in the Fredonia, Wisconsin Public School, District 6, to observe June 14 (the 108th anniversary of the official adoption of The Stars and Stripes) as 'Flag Birthday'.
