Traveling There are many ways how to travel in the world. For example some people like to travel in their own country, other people like to travel trough the world and visit different exotic places. There are also different reasons for travelling. Some travel to learn more about other cultures, learn about other countrys history.Others might travel just to have some fun and meet new people, visit friends and family or just for business. The most common ways to travel are by plane,by car,by train or by bus. Travelling has many positive sides. When people have traveled to a completely different country, then they can compare the life in their own country and the country they are visiting. It makes people see how they can enjoy their life more. Visiting other places also is very good for practicing other languages and communicating with people

ENGLISH TOPICS - palju teemasid inglise keele riigieksami kordamiseks

The basic ingredients, when fresh, are so full of flavour that British haven't had to invent sauces to disguise their natural taste. What can compare with fresh pees or new potatoes just boiled and served with butter? Why drown spring lamb in wine or cream and spices, when with just one or two herbs it is absolutely delicious? If you ask foreigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say "Fish and chips" then stop. It is disappointing, but true that, there is no tradition in England of eating in restaurants, because the food doesn't lend itself to such preparation. English cooking is found at home. So it is difficult to a good English restaurant with a reasonable prices. In most cities in Britain you'll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian restaurants. In London you'll also find Indonesian, Mexican, Greek... Cynics will say that this is because English have no "cuisine" themselves, but this is not quite the true. Vocabulary:

Backpaking lifestyle

Scholarship on backpackers speculates some individuals may extend backpacking to a way of life. This article empirically explores this proposition using lifestyle consumption as its framing concept and conceptualises individuals who style their lives around the enduring practice of backpacking as ‘lifestyle travellers’. Ethnographic interviews with lifestyle travellers in India and Thailand offer an emic account of the practices, ideologies and social identity that characterise lifestyle travel as a distinctive subtype within backpacking. Departing from the drifter construct, which (re)constitutes this identity as socially deviant, the concept of lifestyle allows for a contemporary appraisal of these individuals’ patterns of meaningful consumption and wider insights into how ongoing mobility can lead to different ways of understanding identities and relating to place. Keywords: lifestyle consumption; backpacker; mobility; drifter; identity INTRODUCTION

Travelling

Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other countries and continents, modern cities. They travel to enjoy picturesque places, to try different food People can travel on foot, by train, by plane, by sea, by ship and by car. All means of travel have their advantages and disadvantages. Of course, travelling by air is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too. Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see much more interesting places of the country you are travelling through. Modern trains have very comfortable seats. There are also sleeping cars and dining cars which make even the longest journey enjoyable. Speed, comfort and safety are the main advantages of trains and planes. That is why I prefer travelling by train. Travelling by sea is popular mostly for pleasure trips. On board large ships and small river boats

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see To most people, the words tourist and traveler have the same meaning - a person visiting a foreign country to see what it has to offer. However, for people in the travel community these titles may have vastly different meanings. For many, when hearing the word tourist, a stereotypical picture comes to mind: a person with cargo shorts, a hawaiian shirt, a huge hat and sunglasses with a camera around their neck and map in hand. That is rather common amongst tourists, wearing what’s comfortable and they’d wear at home and not putting much effort into blending in. Their trips are usually planned to the T, leaving no room for any spontaneous adventures that might come up along the way. They

Have you ever wondered what travelling gives to people? Is it just all about getting away from home or something more? The person who has seen the world has more knowledge about the things going on elsewhere. From a personal standpoint, travelling is one of the ways how to accomplish themselves, for example some people go abroad only with a packback just to see if they could live without fancy hotels and only little cash in their pockets. On the other hand, it might get really hard to get food and shelter but young people like adventures. The second reason, why so many young people travel to other countries is that they want to become an exchange student. This also includes very much travelling and seeing the land. Unfortunately, it might be a sad travel because of missing their family. From a religious and historical point of view, it can be said that travelling can be really

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." Saint Augustine of Hippo Travelling is very important in my life. By travelling I can learn other cultures and discover many extraordinary places. It does not matter how far I go I will always learn something new on my way. There are so many different countries and thousands of languages on planet Earth. Every nation has its own culture, which differs from others. When I have been to some exotic country I can understand the people better because I have seen their culture. Learning different cultures makes everything easier to understand. People who do not travel are missing most of the book, their mind is not so opened and they are unimaginative. They are stuck in their everyday routine. Everything that happens

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student With a population of 1 313 271 people, Estonia is one of the least populous member states of the European Union. However, according to the IMF, it is a developed country with an advanced and high-income economy. Estonia follows market economy system which ensures the little government intervention and the determination of prices of goods and services in a free price system. Therefore, economic decisions are guided solely by the aggregate interactions of a country's citizens and businesses. In addition to mentioned afore, Estonia tends to perform favourably in measurements of civil liberties, education, and press freedom.

Why should tourists visit Estonia?

Why should tourists visit Estonia? I have always though of my country as a huge ,,multicultural city". We have so many different cultures from different places put into a little place all together that you could almost say we are a huge city not a country. And that has influenced us in a very remarcable way. Since the time we can remember we have been under Danes, Swedes, Germans, Russians, Polans and other. We have taken their traditions into our daily lives and forgotten ours. But still despite the fact that we bearly know our own language structure or our old traditions,we try to awake them once again. Estonia is one of the worlds wealthiest countries when it comes to forests. Almost half of the country is covered with the divercity of trees. Also we have many big rivers. Nowadays there are many possibilities to hike in the forests or to go for a ride on the river

English as a Global Language

Today more and more disputes are caused by the enormous spread of the English language throughout the world. Some scholars claim that it has already become the first global language. And this statement isn't far from truth. But what does it mean to say that a language is a global language? Why is English the language which is usually cited in this connection? How did the situation arise? And could it change? Or is it the case that, once a language becomes a global language, it is there for ever? [1, pg.2] These are fascinating questions to explore, whether your first language is English or not. A global language is a language that is spoken internationally and is learned and spoken by a large number of people as a second language. A global language is characterized not only by the total number of speakers (native and second language speakers), but also by its geographical distribution, as well as use ininternational organizations and diplomatic relations. Diplomat Diplomat's job isn't that easy. You have to be well educated. Knowledge in languages have to be high and you have to speak the language very well if not fluently. Everytime you change country, it is required to know basic things about it, like language, history, differences and so many other important things. In Estonia you can learn how to be a diplomat in Diplomatic School. It is very difficult to get in because every year they accept only around 30 students. You have to be flexible in your working hours because probably with the job you have to attend a lot of meetings or gatherings in the evenings. Conditions might be different depending on the country you are staying, like in America you'll probably have very good

Benefits and drawbacks of the EU

Benefits and drawbacks of the EU Joining the European Union in 2004 has definitely brought some good and some bad things to Estonia in the past 9 years. As they say, you have to take the good with the bad. One positive thing that almost immediately pops into my head is the fact that being in the EU makes travelling so much easier between the member countries. So, along with the EU currency the euro, travelling in Europe has never been this easy. Now people don't even have to exchange their currency when travelling for example to Finland. But the simplification of travel could also bring some drawbacks. With leaving the country being so easy, many students who are looking for better opportunities abroad now have the chance to easily leave their homeland and maybe never come back. So Estonia is losing some of its valuable young people

Tourism

Tourism For ages people have had a constant urge to travel different and new places. Today tourism is a global multi-billion industry and essential as an income for many countries. What are the pros and cons of it? Should we limit the flow of tourists or let them come and sometimes stay forever? As I mentioned before, one of the most positive thing about tourism is money. Basicly tourists creat jobs and give people a chance to do something with their lives. The money and taxes, that all the hotels and companys pay, help to develop the local community. Tourism is also a reason to keep the crime down and the streets clean of rubbish. As a tourist it is also a way to learn about other cultures. It is possible to go almost averywhere and to do almost everything. As the tsunami few months ago proved can total destruction of tourism-industry be quite

People gain a lot from foreign travel

Essay: People gain a lot from foreign travel There is a saying that many people gain a lot from foreign travel. In myopinion, it is certainly true. Every person tries to travel as much as possible. There is a huge number of advantages of foreign travel and I would like to describe some of them. One of the significant benefits is knowledge that we gain from travelling. It is quite an expensive hobby and poor people can`t afford it. They are not able to get experience in different foreign cultures because such people do not travel at all. Every culture differs from another and it is not possible to learn all of them. But everyone should try to see the difference between our and foreign culture. Furthermore, learning from travelling is more interesting and funny than learning at home. Moreover, one particular thing about culture is the unique food. On the one hand, studying abroad is new experience and motivating, but on the other hand it can be distracting. Firstly, studying abroad give to people more experience and philosophy of life. Compared to the situation one hundred years ago, studying abroad is broadly spread all over the world. Moreover, travel is easier and convenient. In addition, studying abroad has become more and more popular. In my opinion it is the most useful way to learn a new language and you have advantage to be independent. If you have created something, then try to be open minded Teacher: O'Mahony V.PG 11A 09.03.2009 This written essay here is talking about my thoughts and facts of life, what is around us. First I thought that why is always easier to create something but to destroy is much harder. Exactly there have been so many wars in history. Everybody wanted to own a lot of countries and others had to fight for their created country. Also they started to teach young people to kill and protect their country with killing enemies. Also government tried to keep a low profile, if there were some wars in state. These are my thoughts of creating and keeping something. In the old times were many wars. Some states predominated over other weaker countries or states. Weaker countries had created their own and loved country and they wanted to live like that for a long time

For that reason, it is extremely important for young people to improve their skills and to learn as much as they can of, this important language. To begin with, speaking foreign languages allows you to travel wherever you want without any problems. If you are visiting a place far away, it would probably be useful for you to know a little bit of English or some other languages. For example, if you get lost in a strange country you could ask somebody for information without any problems. Furthermore, having a good knowledge of different languages could help you to find jobs. These days, it is always more common to find businesses which are looking for a good English or some other languages speaker. THE CAPITALIST NIGER

Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation, diseases and non-provision of essential services than when we got our independence. There are all kinds of wars in Africa than the rest of world put together. The majority of so-called Africans leaders want to stay in power until the day their bodies are put in the grave. Through buffoonery, utter mismanagement and downright stealing of the wealth of the masses, these leaders have so impoverished Africa that we are now nothing but a beggar continent. We beg for

Tourism can be very profitable. Especially when the country or an area is attractive and good weather is guaranteed. The most popular places to which people come are mountains, sea or lakes. The advantage of tourism is the mutual cooperation of the tourists and people who are working in this branch. These first can spend their time relaxing themselves. These second earn money. It's said that travel broadens the mind. I think it's true because we can meet another people and visit various places all over the world

Secondly, every adult has to work so they could get the paycheck at the end of the month they need to pay the bills, buy food and to pay for any other expences. On the other hand, money is not the only thing in the world and money does not give you everything. You can't buy a family and friends. In conclusion, even if people work every day in order to pay for their expences, money is not the only thing in the world that makes people happy and satisfied with their life Advertising on TV Advertising on TV is a very popular way that companies use to advertise their products.
