(Pelisaar, Läänemets, 2008) In my opinion main education problems or reason for change in Estonia are compulsory education vs. voluntary education, school governance problems, decline in the popularity of the teaching profession, dropouts from schools, development of rational thinking, integrated active learning vs. passive learning methods, competitiveness- logically in a small country there are less people than in big country. That means- more people, less spots for university grants and that means high competitiveness. In Estonia almost everyone can go to the university, and that’s bad, that’s why we procrastinate, because there is with each year less and less higher standards, less competitiveness within students and that is bad for the future. Because where will the next generation get better workers, better teachers and doctors if the competition in the study fields is almost non-existent. Also,
education courses – five levels: access, intermediate 1, intermediate 2, higher and advanced higher – assessed internally and by external assessment from the SQA (= Scottish Qualifications Authority) Higher education Universities are the main providers of higher education in the UK. They vary greatly in the kind of courses they teach and in the way they organise their work, but they are all self-governing and independent and award degrees. An institution is granted university status by a royal charter granted by the Privy Council. Students in college can work summer jobs, such as fishing off Alaska, to earn their tuition; it is not necessary for parents or taxpayers to pay their way. Scholarships, based on deserving factors, are okay if endowed by private giving. I like to hope that even students of poor grades yet much promise might thereby get a chance to excel, as would very poor or otherwise handicapped ones. With the grades I received in high school, I did manage to get accepted by the University of Washington in 1980. But today there is no way I would've made the cut, thanks to increased competition. Yet I am one of many who could justify poor grades; in my case they had to do with factors other than lack of intelligence or studious nature. Balance and timing are keys to education. Our minds work differently while engaged in various tasks, such as in chess, mathematics, paint, or writing. Each pursuit must be given
the work or the field. Broader (laiem) economic and social life is worth keeping track of. In the economic development perspective, it is important that people improve their knowledge and skills and meet the expectations of society and the market. You have to learn pasicly throughout the life. We have to study to get knowleges and skills. In Estonia you can study business in Estonian Business School and in Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied scienses. Both school focus mainly in business area. In Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied scienses you can learn new speciality which is Business Start Up. Learning Start up is 3 year. First year you make a group and think business idea, other two years you start your own business where mentors and business leaders are always next to you and tells what to do and how to do. After 3 years you got diploma and your own business.
The Rise and Demise of the New Public Management Wolfgang Drechsler (University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia) © Copyright: Wolfgang Drechsler 2005 Within the public sphere, the most important reform movement of the last quarter of a century has been the New Public Management (NPM). It is of particular interest in the post-autistic economics (pae) context because NPM largely rests on the same ideology and epistemology as standard textbook economics (STE) is based (for my

clusters in the world. "High-tech firms prefer cities that have a critical mass," says Dennis Donovan, principal with Wadley-Donovan Group, a site location firm. "This mass must have a compatible talent pool, universities or institutes with related R&D, and comparable companies and suppliers." Other universities are making names for themselves in homeland security. "Several universities, including Texas A&M University and University of Minnesota, have positioned themselves as Homeland Security Centers of Excellence," says Kah. "As their research become more established, more companies with a connection to homeland defense will cluster around them." The Future of High Technology In a single word -- nanotechnology. All high-tech industries will advance as nanotechnology advances. Nanotech is the manipulation and management of matter at the atomic level. One nanometer equals one billionth of a meter.
