The bookis about six people in Paris, France in the 16th century. The two main characters know eachother. Their main reason was to get to the chatocombs so they would find the phylosofers stone and to get there they need people who know the place around. So they stumbled across three more people who would help them to get there. But the chatacombs has a paranormal power and some of the characters unfortunately die. The names of the main characters are Scarlet and George. Scarlet is a phylosofist and she knows many languages where two of them even are the languages of the dead. George in the other hand is stubern, but he is smart as well and he knows a different kind of language of the dead, which Scarlet doesn’t know. There was no spesific description of the characters. The message or the idea of the book was that you have to belive in yourself and face your fears of the past. Only then you can live in piece.
The distance between the benches marked out on the floor in red lines, is exactly two sword lengths and one foot apart. Members are not allowed to cross these lines, thus ensuring that debates are kept orderly. In the centre of the floor stands the Table of the House, on which the mace is placed at the start of each parliamentary sitting; this is the Speaker's sceptre. The speaker of the house presides over sittings, keeping order. The House of Lords decorated in scarlet and gold has all the grandeur one would expect in this chamber. This is where Her Majesty the Queen comes to open Parliament each November. Placed beneath a regal canopy, the gold throne which dominates the house is where the Queen sits to deliver the traditional opening speech. The Lord Chancellor sits opposite, on the famous Woolsack, this is a large scarlet cushion filled with wool, a tradition dating back to the middle ages when wool was England's largest export. http://www.aboutbritain

humble, because we see that a free gift has been given to us; and to lose that humility because we have lost friendship or love is to take a pride in what should shame us. We have our judgments and our penalties as part of the political mechanism that is forced upon us so that we may continue to live; but friendship is not friendship at all unless it teaches us that these are not part of our real life. They have to be; and we pay men, and clothe them in wigs and scarlet, to sit in judgment on other men. So we are tempted to play this game of judgment ourselves, even though no one has paid us to do it. It is only in the warmth of friendship that we see how cold a thing it is to judge and how stupid to take a pleasure in judging; for we recognise this warmth as a positive good, a richness in our natures, while the coldness that sets us judging is a poverty. If you cut your finger you must stop the bleeding by putting a handage on it. In serous cases of accidents you must ring for an ambulance. Some diseases are infectious. For example infectious diseases are most common children's diseases such as measles, mumps, scarlet fever and chicken pox. Some diseases can be vaccinated against. Not all diseases are infectious. A very widely spread present-day trouble is allergy. It means that people are over-sensitive to certain things. Many people suffer from heart diseases. It is not rare that a person has a heart attack or a stroke. Another very serious problem is cancer. It is in many caces not cureable. As a young boy, Victor is obsessed with studying outdated theories of science that focus on achieving natural wonders. He plans to attend the University of Ingolstadt in Germany. Weeks before his planned departure, his mother dies of scarlet fever. At university, he excels at chemistry and other sciences, and develops a secret technique to imbue inanimate bodies with life. The details of the monster's construction are left ambiguous, but Frankenstein finds himself forced to make the creature roughly eight feet tall because of the difficulty in replicating the minute parts of the human body. His creation, which he has hoped would be beautiful, is instead hideous, with dull yellow

peopled by "noble savages", similar to the philosophical theory of Rousseau, exemplified by Uncas, from The Last of the Mohicans. There are picturesque "local color" elements in Washington Irving's essays and especially his travel books. Edgar Allan Poe's tales of the macabre and his balladic poetry were more influential in France than at home, but the romantic American novel developed fully with the atmosphere and melodrama of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter (1850). Later Transcendentalist writers such as Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson still show elements of its influence and imagination, as does the romantic realism of Walt Whitman. The poetry of Emily Dickinson--nearly unread in her own time--and Herman Melville's novel MobyDick can be taken as epitomes of American Romantic literature. By the 1880s, however, psychological and social realism was competing with romanticism in the novel.
of which The Raven (1845) and Annabel Lee (1849) are good examples (Also The Bells). Somewhat overlooked by his contemporary fellow countrymen, Poe's work was particularly influential in France, where it was (discovered and) translated by Charles Baudelaire. The mid-19th cent was a period of astonishing literary creativity in Am lit. In the short space of 6 years, four monumental lit works were published: Nathaniel Hawthorne's (1804-64) The Scarlet Letter (1850), Herman Melville's (1819-91) Moby Dick (1851), Henry David Thoreau's (1817-62) Walden (1854) and Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass (1855). This period witnessed the highest lit expression of the Puritan tradition and the emergence of a new cultural and philosophical movement, Transcendentalism. Although the Am frontier was being pushed westward, Massachusetts and Virginia, the Puritan strongholds in the east, remained the centre of cultural activity.
kultuuttaimedena.
In 1882, he joined former classmate George Budd as his partner at a medical practice in Plymouth, but their relationship proved difficult, and Conan Doyle soon left to set up an independent practice. Arriving in Portsmouth in June of that year with less than £10 to his name, he set up a medical practice at 1 Bush Villas in Elm Grove, Southsea. The practice was initially not very successful; while waiting for patients, he again began writing stories. His first significant work was A Study in Scarlet, which appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual for 1887 and featured the first appearance of Sherlock Holmes, who was partially modelled after his former university professor, Joseph Bell. Future short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes were published in the English Strand Magazine. Interestingly, Rudyard Kipling congratulated Conan Doyle on his success, asking "Could this be my old friend, Dr. Joe?" Sherlock Holmes, however, was even more closely

We can get these diseases from people already ill with the disease or infected food or animals. Most common infectious diseases are such children's diseases as measles, mumps, scarlet fever and chicken pox. Some diseases have become more rare because children and grown-ups can be vaccinated against them for example polio, diphtheria, smallpox. Tuberculosis (TB) was almost stamped out, but now it is returning, having become resistant to many medicines that were used to cure it years ago. The most infectious disease in the Middle Ages was plague, now AIDS has replaced it. It is a serious problem and kills millions of people every year
from which the royal armies and fleets were equipped. It also housed king's personal armours and weapons. Among the armour on display in the White Tower Armoury are four suits of Henry VII. They are of different sizes because Henry grew fatter with age. The Tower is guarded by the Yeoman Warders, a company of 38 ex-servicemen (also known as the Beefeaters). Usually they are seen in the dark blue uniforms with red decorations, but on state occasions they wear the scarlet and gold uniforms with a white neck ruff and a special bonnet. Among their duties is the ceremonial closing of the gates each evening, the 700 year-old Ceremony of the Keys, at which the Chief Warder presents the of the Tower to the Resident Governor. It had been thought that there have been at least six ravens in residence at the tower for centuries. The legend says that if the ravens ever leave the Tower of London, the White Tower, the monarchy, and the entire kingdom would fall.
Nad ei kohkunud mitte millegi ees ja olid valmis kõike tegema, et eesmärk saavutada. than if now, here -- with no witnesses and nothing to stop me -- I were to hurt you." I was human enough to have to ask. "Why?" "Isabella." He pronounced my full name carefully, then playfully ruffled my hair with his free hand. A shock ran through my body at his casual touch. "Bella, I couldn't live with myself if I ever hurt you. You don't know how it's tortured me." He looked down, ashamed again. "The thought of you, still, white, cold... to never see you blush scarlet again, to never see that flash of intuition in your eyes when you see through my pretenses... it would be unendurable." He lifted his glorious, agonized eyes to mine. "You are the most important thing to me now. The most important thing to me ever." My head was spinning at the rapid change in direction our conversation had taken. From the cheerful topic of my impending demise, we were suddenly declaring ourselves. He waited, and even though I
I have great hopes of finding him quite the reverse. There is a mixture of servility and self-importance in his letter, which promises well. I am impatient to see him." "In point of composition," said Mary, "the letter does not seem defective. The idea of the olive-branch perhaps is not wholly new, yet I think it is well expressed." To Catherine and Lydia, neither the letter nor its writer were in any degree interesting. It was next to impossible that their cousin should come in a scarlet coat, and it was now some weeks since they had received pleasure from the society of a man in any other colour. As for their mother, Mr. Collins's letter had done away much of her ill-will, and she was preparing to see him with a degree of composure which astonished her husband and daughters. Mr. Collins was punctual to his time, and was received with great politeness by the whole family. Mr. Bennet indeed said little; but the ladies were ready enough to talk, and Mr.
