be. Most of them have gotten to where they want to be. Of course there are people who have gotten to important positions in life thanks to luck and many of them have had a lot of good ideas or have the imprtant knowledge, but majority of people are not that talentes so they have to work hard in life. I belive that if you set lifegoals to yourselt and imagine yourself completing those goals, you have the morale and motivation to actually complete those goal. You just have to think what you want, imagine that you have what you want, and there is a great chance that you will get what you want. Martin Ilsin 11A

Pandemic - Studying during Covid-19

for all of this to be over. I would even say that the whole year has had everyone on their toes, but I am trying to keep a positive mindset, there can always be worse. Sometimes I think people overdo it because Estonia doesn’t have it so bad, but better be safe than sorry. Studying at home is quite difficult for me, I don’t think it’s necessarily because of the pandemic, I’d say it’s more of a personal struggle. But when I have the motivation and or the goal in mind then I don’t think there is a more self-disciplined person than me. Most people probably enjoy studying from home because they can wake up when they want to, wear what they want to, eat what they want to and so on. But for me it just ruins my routines and boundaries therefore I get lazy and I start to slack off. Also I don’t like bringing “work” home because for me coming home is for unwinding and resting, but if I have to study at

Do beauty contests serve a purpose in present society

For example smart people try to create a new cure for some scary illness. The winner manages to do that and everybody is happy and there are more healthy people in the world. But then there are also sports competitions which are good for entertainment but thereARE no actual benefits coming from them. At the same time people like it very much and are happy to attend and KAASA ELADA. ATHLETES can do what they are the best at. I think that beauty contests are for pretty people. If someone's goal of life is to be the most beautiful in the world then it is okay and if it makes her happy it is great, because it is quite harmful and easy to ignore. Some people say that it creates low self-esteem and too high standards, but I think that people should really use their own brains and TEADVUSTAMA themselves what stays in the boundaries of normal. So beauty contests do serve a purpose in present society. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Are student organizations beneficial for students?

life. It seems that right connections are even more important, when it comes to finding a job, than education. Another relevant point is that nowadays you have to know how to work in a group and student organizations are excellent places to practise it. It must also be noted that good ideas come more easily in a group. In addition, it is easier to make these ideas come alive with lots of people than alone. It is the group energy, all working for the same goal that gives students will to work more. It is said that students have already too many responsibilities and adding the organizations in daily life becomes too much to take. On the one hand, being involved in an organization takes up some precious time, but on the other hand it teaches students how to manage their time. Another aspect is that when student is really into that organization it might distract them from schoolwork. It becomes more interesting and enjoyable than school.

Breathing was painful, because ash hung so thickly in the air. 3. Scientists have discovered how lava dome volcanoes erupt and thanks to that they can predict how volcanic eruption will behave. They have discoverd that frictional melting helps predict how a vulcano will erupt. Frictional melting generates stick-slip process what causes rhythmic small earthquakes. Frictional melting takes place when large tectonic earthquakes occur. The ultimate goal is to start predicting when or where vulcano is going to start erupting. Voc. 1. Animal rights movements and their views on hunting

[2] Animal Liberation Front (ALF) was founded it 1976 and it is international movement that takes illegal steps to ensure animal rights. They don’t have official leaders and are active in more than 40 countries. They mainly liberate animals from places of abuse like factory farms, fur farms and laboratories. After the liberation they provide animals with good homes or places to live out their natural lives free of suffering. Animal Liberation Front’s other goal is to cause economic damage to those companies that profit from animal abuse and to bring out to open abuses against animals. Since they are group with no central leadership they work in small groups and everyone who is vegetarian or vegan and follows ALF guidelines can regard themselves as part of Animal Liberation Front. The best things in life are free

The best things in life are free Obviously money is important in our lives. Without it we'd have no home to live in, no food to eat and no clothes to wear. Earning a lot of money is the goal of people in their lives. But even if you have millions of dollars, there are some things that you'll never have with money. Many people are born with a some kind of talent. Money can certainly advance your skills by buying music lessons or coaching sessions, but money cannot buy a talent. People can learn to do certain things well by taking lessons but the true gift to do it well can't be bought. Even after years of lessons you can't really play piano or sing as well a person who have the

There have been several attempts to breed the last representative of the species with similar tortoise varieties, but none of the eggs hatched. On the other hand, there is hope for the successful conservation of rare animals. A number of different international organisations have the same goal and work hard to protect both endangered wildlife and natural habitats. a) The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has been protecting nature for already more than 45 years. WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 5 million members globally. b) Animal Rescue Facilities provide homes for animals in need. They are not being sold, transferred or used for breeding. Many newspapers and magazines feature stories about the private lives of famous people

Newspapers should offer more serious information, that readers may fill their minds with some necessary and interesting facts. Futhermore, newspaper`s journalists should focus on facts and checked information, not on gossips, that people are available to rely on newspaper`s articles. On the other hand, magazines are more focused on social news of famous people`s lifes. In general, magazines offer information about famous people’s personalaties and private lifes, because the magazine’s goal is entertain readers and nowaday people are fond of famous people life details, despite embarrassing or untrue things. Besides, magazines help famous people support their popularity and in some way develope their careers, giving other people free information about their private lifes. Gossips increase people`s interest and products, which are produced or broadcasted with famous people will be more common ,than others things. In conclusion, based on the arguments listed above is clear that more

Teamwork: the pros and cons

There are many good sides in teamwork, like people can pool their skills together and than it's generally more productive but when work individually person has he is own ideas. No idea is a bad idea when person is working alone. It's an amazing feeling when person can create his owns ideas or do whatever his heart desires. There is only one, with own ideas and trust in his own decision making. Of course, person will be fully responsible for the outcome. The common goal in teamwork is good for morale and fosters team spirit but in individual work person can't get help from others or be appreciated by others for ideas. Also collaboration and mutual feedback are fulfilling and make people feel more valued however individual person can also feel valued for himself, but he can't feel valued by the others if person want to be valued he must share his ideas or creation with others to make their work or situation more easier.

Alchemy English

For thousand of years scientists all over the world have sought for three main goals of alchemy. The most renowned goal of alchemy is the transmutation of any metal into gold or silver. Also they tried to create universal panacea. It's a remedy that would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. The philosphper's stone was the key in these goals. This mythical substance could just as well be powder or liquid. Alchemy is considered as the precursor of the modern science of chemistry. The Philospher's stone is perhaps best known in Britain through the best-selling book and

Short analysis of two phonetics articles

Can you tell by a single sound I make, whether I am straight, bi or gay? As ridiculous as it might sound and casting aside all stereotypes, it actually seems possible. Unbelievable? Well, sociolinguistics, sociopathology, sociophonetics are all very fascinating subjects. Never thought a single word or a sound you make could tell random strangers who you are? Well, prepare to be convinced otherwise. (Well, not solely by these two articles or my short conclusions, of course, it is a very wide field and there is yet much research to be done.) Anyhow, here I have found two research articles, both dealing with whether it is possible to distinguish someone's sexual identity solely based upon a few words, or much less, a single phone. As it turns out, it is. How it is done, is also shown (although I must admit that my current education did not allow me to understand all the details of the methods used) and a lot of research poured into findi...

Leap of faith

following: ‘Hey. Soo… Who do you want to become in the future?’ First thing most of you will say is that: ‘Um, I’m not entirely sure, I’m yet to decide.’ The one who asks is confused: ‘It’s your last year of high school, you’re probably going to university next year or whatever, and you don’t know who you want to become?!?’ In our busy society where we live in, everything tends to move really fast. All the people around you seem to have a goal in their life, almost if they knew what they were destined to since they were born. As if you were the only one, who has no idea what’s going on in your future. But, if look closely, you will find out. that nobody is 100% sure of their chosen career paths. Nobody was born knowing their career or their life purpose. Sometimes, or may I say, almost in all occasions, you must have faith in something. It’s like believing in something, when others will say it’s impossible or pointless.

Report: The Free Rider Problem

Government intervention is not generally needed in a free market society but in this case if there were no government intervention this problem would not find a solution. The free-rider issue is often seen as a serious problem because of the assumption that a free rider's best self-interest is that they interact with others by force and fraud. If they can get away with the fraud and begin to gain the benefits of others they have reached their first goal. Their next goal is to make some good money or get credit for someone else's hard work before they get caught. Then they get out and are long gone by the time anyone notices. Life in a civilized society allows each of us the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the work of people with productive ability far greater than our own, but what happens when people begin doing this? They get used to not having to do much work and become lazy. In some cases people look at welfare in this way

Terrorism, is violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands Mass mediaMedia exposure may be a primary goal of those carrying out terrorism, to expose issues that would otherwise be ignored by the media. Some consider this to be manipulation and exploitation of the media.[62] Others consider terrorism itself to be a symptom of a highly controlled mass media, which does not otherwise give voice to alternative viewpoints, a view expressed by Paul Watson who has stated that controlled media is responsible for terrorism, because "you cannot get your information across any other way"

We punish murderers and rapists on Earth, so why shouldn't the same people rot in hell? but if you want to go to a nicer locality, you can spend all day getting there. Then how do you go about making your own arrangements? Other people are part of the environment and they have a right to react to wrong-doing to protect society. Then why shouldn't God send evil people to hell? That's why I'm advocating self-sufficiency as a goal. SPEECH: Attitude rather than aptitude is the key to succsess

impressions and experiences. Aptitude countrawise is given by nature and nobody can change it. You can only increase your aptitude a litte bit with hard work. Being open to new experiences could lead you to right direction. You just have to find things you're good at. Because it would be dissapointing to work really hard and alwats stay on the same level/ you probably wouldn't get far. Successful people know what they want to achive. They have a clearly defined goal. They are constantly seeking ways to learn and improve. A positive attitude or a constructive and optimistic way of looking at yourself and your work goes hand in hand with succsess. Actually all of us have enourmous potential, but lot of us are too lazy to take advantage of it. We could accomplish MUCH more if we are just willing to work on it. Nowadays is possible to do almost anything and to go almost anywhere. The world in front of us is big and wide and so are the options

The highest result of education is tolerance

.......but the greatest education comes from the life school where we learn about other people's views and thoughts. And when those views happen to have even a slight difference from our own then we start a discussion what at the end of the day helps us to understand the world in a better way, more opened minded way. As we all know Helen Keller was a remarkable activist with a really high tolerance level. Tolerating our fellow compatriots should be every person's goal. For me seeing a bigoted with a high degree is just asinine. How can you even name yourself so called educated person when you are unwilling to be open-minded and do not listen to other people's ideas. It is actually very sad. I am rather sure that those people do not think about how they may hurt others with their sayings caused by their intolerance. So do you remember my question at the beginning of the speech? Why do we need to tolerate weird kids at school

Floating Wind Turbines

Can be employed at ocean depths of 120 to 700 meters Main objective is to test the impact of wind and waves on the structure over a two-year period Initiatives Blue H Dutch company Blue H Technologies has devised a `Submerged Deepwater Platform' (SDP) In 2008, the company installed a 75% scale prototype SDP with a small wind turbine in 113-metre deep water 20 km off the coast of Southern Italy After 6 monts at sea, the unit was decommisioned early on 2009 Target goal are units in water depths of 70-300 meters Initiatives - Others WindFloat HiPRwind WinFlo Vertiwind WindSea Sway Conclusion Shallow-water turbines cost between 2.4 and 3 million United States dollars per megawatt to install, according to the World Energy Council. The main reason to develop FWT is the possibility to harness wind energy far off the coast-line, which in return gives greater energy output and less visual/noise pollution. Beneficial to marine biota and fishing industry.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

insignificant and have no effect, with enough people these small things add up and make an even bigger change that any single organization or person could ever do. To be the change we want to see in the world, people do not have to be smart, rich or well educated. They need to have a dream and commitment. The problems facing the world today are great, and it will surely take the greatness of millions if not billions of people working together towards a common goal to overcome them. Changing the world does not happen overnight, but it would not happen by not making an effort either. “When the whole world is silent, even once voice becomes powerful.” These strong words said by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai have had a big impact on people that have doubted themselves about for example starting a fundraising event or listing up as a volunteer to help people that cannot get proper education.

The Goblin

and emotions. It was also quite extraordinary and interesting, that in one scene there took part the National female chorus. ,,The Goblin" makes you think what is really inmportant in life and what makes people happy. The story teaches, that having more money than you need is unlikely to increase your level of happiness. In the ballet there were two types of people. To the first type belonged the Farmer, whose most important life goal was to get more money. It can't be said that he was happy, because the process of gaining money hindered his relationships with others. He had no positive emotions or feelings and even his daughter did not love him because of his greediness. The second type of people were the peasants. In spite of they poverty, they were caring and cheerful. They sang and danced a lot and enjoyed their life without huge amounts of money. They could

An Essay

An Essay There are many different education systems in the world. Basics are pretty much the same, but ofcourse depending of the culture, the differences and interests of educating people, are big. Children go to school at age five in Great Britain, which is too early in my opinion. Most children in Estonia start school at age seven, only some of them at age six. I think starting with school and competition, rivalry, witch always associates with schooling, too young, shortens the childhood and may affect negatively self-esteem, success and coping in the future. Children´s job is to play, it develops child the best, so I think anyone shouldn't forbit humans inherent needs. Children don´t have to become too fast to an adult. The high school in Great Britain starts at age eleven, but in Estonia at about age fifteen. Biggest difference is that in Great Britain they prepare young people to get a job ...

Bad Habits Of Youth

races there according to there habit. If I started highlighting every bad habit of youth I can write a book over it. So keeping it as a blog the only message I wanted to give was: We should start rectifying our own personality as it is useless pointing out everyone else's mistakes ignoring ours. The bad habits I have highlighted or any other you feel you have got try not to do that again. Keep yourself focused to your goal which should be for betterment of our country Pakistan and betterment of yourself. I am not saying you to remove all of your extra activities keep it with you. Do everything you want to but in a right and honest way. The only thing we should do and can do is improve, by improving ourselves and our personalities. As we haven't got capacity of getting worse now. My opinion is that the young people are doing more and more smoke and consume alcohol

Estonian Independence Day

gain its independence. The impetus for independence was provided by the National Front, Estonia's main ideological movement, which based its ideas on US President Woodrow Wilson's principle of self-determination. On April 8, 1917, Estonian organisations and military personnel totalling 40 000 held a demonstration in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) in support of self-government of Estonia. The organised, peaceful demonstration achieved its goal when, on April 12, the Russian Provisional Government signed the Law on Estonian Autonomy, which united the Livonian counties of Tartu, Võru, Viljandi, Pärnu and Saaremaa with Estonia. For the first time an Estonian, Jaan Poska was appointed as a Provincial Commissioner of Estonia. A six-member Provisional National Council, the Maapäev, was formed. The Maapäev appointed a national executive that began to organise and modernise local government and educational institutions

American Literature Character Sketch-The Great Gatsby-Daisy

It was Nick, her cousin, who saw her for what she really was-a careless woman, who didn’t consider to think twice about her actions and the mess she made nor who had to clean it up. She is unable to deal with the consequences of her actions. She can also be described childish and indecisive. I did love him once, but I loved you too. She had difficulties choosing between the two men who both wanted her. She married Tom without thinking it through which only shows her main interest and goal in that was money and wealth not the man himself. In first glance, Daisy is a very sweet and charming person, but once I got to know her better throughout the book, it wasn’t so. She wasn’t the woman Gatsby thought she was, she was all about money and only cared what money could get her. Even though she claimed to love both men (Tom and Jay), I think what she loved the most was the lifestyle the men provided her. At the end of the book Daisy moved away with Tom

History of Football

Florence and La Soule in Normandy. The establishment of football as a proper sport The first signs of football developing from its mob roots came with the publication of the naturalist Francis Willoughby's `Book of Sports' around 1660. In this work, Willughby described the game of `football', identifying the pitch, two ends with gates known as `goals', basic positioning (notably that some of each team's best players were left to `guard the goal') and the objective as scoring the first goal. Even some details were included, such as avoiding high tackles (referred to as `striking'). That said, it would be almost exactly two centuries until the formation of the modern game took place. The decisive moment was October 26th 1863 when, following a meeting by all the clubs in existence in England at the Freemason's Tavern in London's Great Queen Street, the Football Association was founded. Five subsequent meetings over the next two months saw the drawing up of the code, predominantly
