Kvalitatiivne uurimustöö Emotsioonide regulatsioon ja stress

It is known that humans, interacting with each other or their environment, have emotional reactions that are individually regulated. These emotional responses are linked to changes in autonomic and neuroendocrine systems, which are essential for metabolic support when preparing the body for action. Since emotion can influence such important processes like learning, decision-making, memory and consequently health and welfare of the individual then dysfunctional regulation of emotions can lead to psychopathology. A total of 26 healthy, non smoking male participants, age group 18-42 years were recruited into the study. Based on the theory of Cybernetic 3-Dimensional Model on Emotion Regulation (CMER), three dimensions of emotion regulation was measured. Participants were stressed using the TSST test, and the salivary cortisol and plasma IL-6 was measured as endocrinological markers of the stress response. Multiple regression and correlation

The Goblin

The Goblin strangles his master and sets his farm on fire. In the end, the Goblin dies, too. But the positive thing is that the love story of two young people stays alive and they are happy together. "The Goblin" was an outstanding performance. All the dancers had excellent dancing skills and emotionally strong influence, the decorations and costumes were great. Moreover, the breathtaking music was based completely on the Estonian folclore and helped to imagine all the dancers' emotions. It was a contemporary ballet, that included elements of classical ballet and modern dance. It does not have fixed rules and because of that it is easier to show real feelings and emotions. It was also quite extraordinary and interesting, that in one scene there took part the National female chorus. ,,The Goblin" makes you think what is really inmportant in life and what makes people happy. The story teaches, that having more money than you need is unlikely to increase your level of happiness

Motivatsiooni kirjand

Always keep moving fowards no matter what happens in life! There is never such thing as “I can’t move on, I am hurt, I am feeling depressed”, there just isn’t. Motivation isn’t something what just comes by a random chance. It is something what needs to be understood and observed with feelings and emotions. Motivation comes from the past incidents what I have had and have been through with. I know what I have been thorugh with and how hard the times can get in life but then I can’t just give up my life, I can’t surrender my body to drugs or alcohol in order to forget or ignore the problems. I have to have another view to life. A view that is full of positive energy, good vibes, happy feelings and fantastic emotions.

The Romantic Age

Carulli and many more. Important to Composers was to move their audiences, rather than concerning themselves with the structural discipline of Classical forms. Art Increased Nationalism and exoticism - Artist used their works for highlighting national identity and displayed exoticism by painting new and foreign things, including far away places and odd objects. More interest in Nature and the Supernatural - Artists often used nature to convey emotions. Also the supernatural represented emotions. For example: love-cupids, fear -demons, and many other characteristics. Individuality- it was all about loosing formal constraints, giving way to artists to show their individual ideas and emotions. Heroism- Heroism didn't just mean the supernatural. Many people, like Beethoven, believed that the common man could be heroes. Artists painted this idea during the Romantic Age. Artists: J.M.W. Turner, Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Cole The picture is painted by Thomas Cole : " The voyage of life"

Music review

I like all of the tracks, which is very unusual for me, as I usually like only one song while I am able to despise all the rest of the tracks on the CD. The songs don't give you the feeling when you're listening to love songs or tracks about strong positive feelings. These musical pieces concentrate more on the negative feelings a person can feel and why some have to go through such bad experiences. The tracks are built on pain and anger, emotions that every living person feels but rarely do we sing about them. When I listen to Three Days Grace, especially when I'm angry or consumed by some strong negative emotions, it helps me calm down and just think everything over again. The songs are sung by such emotion, passion and at the same time, with aggression, that it makes you feel like someone else in the world knows exactly how you feel. Unlike most, I like Three Days Grace's debut album more than the albums that followed the first

which August was grateful. The good relations only lasted until August noticed the feelings between Jankowski and August's wife Marlena. August even tried to kill Jankowski several times, but always failed. 6. What is the style like? The book was narrated by the main character, Jacob Jankowski. When he is older, the narration is mostly his thoughts and emotions at the time, with some dialogue. When he is younger, there is more action and less descriptions. The sentences was quite long. 7. Who is main character? What is he like? How does he change during the story? The main character is Jacob Jankowski. He is an emotional and extremely kindhearted person, who loves animals and can't see them suffer. In the beginning he is modest and quite shy, but as the story progresses, he becomes bolder and mentally stronger.

Pride and Prejudice Book Report

new one. Most of the action happens at balls. It is depicted as dances were the center of social world. Dancing seemed to be the only way how women could meet men, which is very unreasonable in my opinion, but what can I do? Women choose men by counting their finances rather than admireing their looks or personalities. Mostly women are shown as desperate ladies, whenever a man was approaching their home, they would go insane-everything had to be perfect, movements and emotions not highly expressed/showed. Most of the discussion between Elizabeth and Jane is focused around the subject of the males yet not in the childish and immature way like their younger sisters'. In my opinion Mr. Darcy was left with too little compassion and gratitude. He basically arranged the marriage of three of Mrs. Bennet's daughters, but wasn't given enough gratitude. Although Ms. Bennet herself didn't know about it, still it should have been obvious, where did the money came then?

Filmi analüüs "Invictus"

most important thing, more important is that people would accept others even when they come from different cultures and nationalities. In the film Nelson Mandela tried to do all possible to connect blacks and whites and to change their prejudices. My favourite place about this film was when the Springboks team visited young and poor children, who were deeply interested about learning rugby. This moment was really heart- warming and positive, the emotions of the team members were pure and sincere. The main characters, Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, were skilled and they acted well. The only negative thing, I'd say about this film, is that it made me feel a little bit sad, because there weren't so many positive emotions and events, which would have made this film a little bit more enjoyable. I liked this film and I would recommend watching this film, because it's very useful, teaching

The Queen/Kuninganna essee filmist

Dissensions in Buckingham Palace The Queen movie was uninteresting at first, but when I delved into the movie it got very interesting. The Queen was about Queen Elizabeth II reaction to the death of Princess Diana. Film was based on actual events and included a lot of tragedy, emotions and sadness. Just as Tony Blair was moving into 10 Downing Street, Princess Diana died in a Paris car wreck. England went into traumatized mourning deeper than anyone could have predicted. On the contrary, the royal family -- Diana's estranged former inlaws -- offered no public reaction at all. As resentment toward the royal cold shoulder built into a monarchical crisis of public opinion, young Mr. Blair intervened with the Queen until finally the House of Windsor made a public

Is football better than reading?

IS FOOTBALL BETTER THAN READING Everyone knows that sport and education are very important, but which one is better- football or reading? Gary Lineker said:" Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.." Football is quite important for all of us. This is a game of emotions, where everyone can show, who they are supporting. This is a team sport, where all 11 players are involved on every play. Reading is an entertainment, by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another's skin, another's voice, another's soul. Reading is also very educating. In my opinion, football is a thousand times better. Playing football improves a team spirit and It also helps to stay fit. So my choice is definitely football.

THE EFFECT OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE

The answer is pacing. If you see, that certain TV program is slow-paced and has the narrative form, then you should know that it can help to develop the long-term memory. But if the program is frenetically-paced, then it usually contains a violence that can inhibit the development of young people and also make children act impulsively and inappropriately. The violence on TV is the main issue that parents are worried about, as violence has a numbing effect on emotions. Moreover, young people can accept violence as the way of solving problems. I believe, that parents should properly control, what their children watch on TV and how long. In my opinion, there should be certain rules for children concerning the media. In addition to that, parents should talk to young people and explain why certain programs are bad or good.

CD review

The album has several popular singles such as "In My Place", "Clocks", and the ballad "The Scientist." It also won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. This is my favourite CD, because you forget everything that surrounds you while you listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects on their emotions. The lyrics of their songs are very thought-provoking and the most important thing is that they are meaningful. You start to think differently when you have delved into them. I strongly recommend this CD and this band to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy good music. This band is really worth listening to.

Computers breed laziness and discontent

For this reason, people`s brains grow lazy. Secondly, people are just sitting behind the computer and watching the screen. They are chatting or doing work but they do not understand that they must take break and do some exercises. In my opinion not exercising can make people stressed and unsatisfied. Finally, we think that is very comfort to communicate with friends and other people via Internet. This kind of communication can lead to unsociability because people are in need of showing they`re emotions. Moreover, some people think that it is more comfortable not to accociate with others at all. To sum up, computers are making our lives too easy. People were created to operate with different kind of activities and if they are spending most of their time behind computer they will get disaffected.

Forgiveness and punishment

punishment. But forgiveness is not easy however punishment is. So should people forgive or should they decide to punish? Firstly people often do not want to forgive others and want them to feel the same pain as they did. As a result of that people want to punish the people who hurt them. Although if the defendant is sorry and regrets what they did, maybe it's okay to forgive. Even though it may be hard to let go of the hatred and emotions in the end it might help to move on. Secondly if the culprit is not sorry, do they even deserve redemption? And all the people in prisons who don't feel guilt, should we keep them in prison until they do? However the problem with that is that it costs a lot of money. On the other hand there's the death penalty, but that is not really a solution. To sum up I would say that although forgiving is hard, people should do it more often to move on

"About a boy"

No-one should be alone in life and fortunately Will no longer has to be. I liked the film because it was gripping and moving. It made me feel like the characters. It was also funny and a bit sad. I think the funniest part was when the old lady that was invited to spend Christmas with everyone else misunderstood almost everything that was said. It was a really sweet and innocent mistake. I think this film has a brilliant soundtrack that fits with the scenes perfectly and brings out the emotions of the moment. The acting was great as well and in my opinion the actors were chosen wisely. I think that the fact that the boy wasn't the best at singing was good because it made his preforance even more awkward. Lastly I would like to say that I enjoyed the film and I wouldn't mind watching it again. I would also recommend this film to anyone who likes heartwarming stories and happy endings. Jete Merila

Theatre: Theatre as compared to film and literature

Theatre: Theatre as compared to film and literature Im going to compare theatre to film and literature. There are some seally big differences between thatre and film or literature. Firstly the main difference between literature and theatre is that if you read a book, you have to imagine the whole image in your head and thus everybody sees one thing differently, but in theatre you have a real live picture in front of you. Also in books the feelings, thoughts and emotions are described better than in theatre performances. Secondly, in theatre performances you can only see one stage and one place but in movies the situations are depicted in various places, for example on streets and other places, which can not be depicted on a stage so easily. In addition to that, in books all the situations are decribed in very small details and that is a really big advantage of reading books. In movies and thatre all situations are...

The mobile phone - a good thing or a bad thing

just the right colour or shape that he/she wants. · Last but no least mobile phones have became quite cheap so almost every person can afford one. Mobile phones have also disadvantages. · First of all, it can be argued that email is so easy. Thats because it takes time to get used to all new sorts of phones and tehqnologe. · A second point is that always talking face to face is better. Its also better because the person youre talking to can see your emotions. · A final and very important point is that you can get addicted to a mobile phone and it can take over your life. Overall, however, to my mind the pros of mobile phone easily outweight the cons and mobile phone is a good thing. It has transformed the world of communication in large ways.

It is better to be sensible than sensitive

In my opinion it is better to be sensible than sensitive. I think so because I am more sensible than sensitive sensible person than sensitive. I think it is better to be sensible because to me, sensitive people seem to be very moody. They offend quickly and have hard feelings. I have a friend who is very sensitive and he gets mad at me for nothing. If you are a sensible person, then it is easier for you to communicate with other people, because you don´t scare them away with your emotions. Nobody likes to hang out with capricious friend. If you are very sensitive, you show all your feelings to others. It is not a good thing because when others always see your feelings, they see your weaknesses. And then it is easier for them to hurt your feelings and make you unhappy. Sensible people are clever and smart and they find their way out of difficult situations. Even if they are cornered into a bad position, they manage to figure their way out

Lying is a natural and inevitable part of any good relationship

Don't they want to be happy? Perhaps reality is not that straightforward. Sometimes telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is the worst thing to be done. From time to time truth can be hurtful. Noone wants to hear that they look exceptionally bad today, especially when they really do. A little fiction can save the day for everyone. Furthermore truth can be so complicated that noone really knows , what is real and what is not. Particularly when it concernes human emotions. There is no certainity, everything changes in time, and what is said genuinely today may become a lie tomorrow. People can be upset, sad or angry and say something they think is true, but later on regret it. These situations can be avoided by telling little lies. On the other hand, lies can hurt and make people feel betrayed. Noone wants to find out that they have been left out of something or mislead. Often lies are told to spare someones

Another great benefit that keeping a blog brings the writer - fame. The more widespread your blog becomes, the more people will recognize your name. One blog, which I really enjoy reading is my colleague's photo blog. She is an amazing photograph, who knows how to capture really candid moments and emotions. Her blog is not well known, but I believe that it will not take a very long time before it starts getting more viewers.

Martin Luther King Jr. ''I have a dream'' kõne analüüs

racism was an issue that needed to be solved and it changed how people treated each other. Martin Luther King’s speech ‘’I have a dream’’ was very successful, but it wasn’t only because it had a powerful message. The way it was written and how he presented it played a huge role in its effectiveness. Martin Luther King used a wide variety of rhetorical and literary devices in his speech. Rhetorical devices are used to persuade and evoke emotions in the audience. The use of metaphors can already be seen in the following sentence: ‘’One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination’’. The metaphorical use of the words ‘’chains’’ and ‘’manacles’’ in that statement help the audience to visualize the impact of discrimination and segregation. The black

My favorite book

He also on the principle that men do not ever cry, because he love challenges and he wanted to cut trough these. Alan`s family was very supportive and they were always there for him. I think that the high spot of the book is when Alan learns how to ride, because it was told to be impossible for him to do that, but Alan had big strength of will and he achieved what he wanted and he was really proud of himself. After reading this book I was a little bit confused. Different emotions and toughts were all over me. First of all, I think that people don`t deserve these kind of diseases and secondly I think that is admirable that there are people who are willing to work for their dreams. I loved this book because it was so deep and it touched me very much.

How does virtual communication influence our behaviour

How does virtual communication influence our behaviour and relationships? Our world is changing drastically. The vast array of devices which allow us to communicate with each other, changes alongside with it. People have tried various ways of communicating with each other. Some of them have been successful breakthroughs, other rendered obsolete for their complexity and lack of usefulness. Now is the year 2010 and the Internet is everywhere. Many people carry it around in their pockets and some people cannot live a moment of their life without it. The grand amount of information, available for them on their fingertips, addicts them. Information is power and that is why people nowadays want to be everywhere, know everything and see everyone at once. Not many take the time to sit down, grab a pen and a piece of paper and write a letter for someone. A letter filled with thoughts, emotions and personality i...

Stress in the life of young people

Then I remember that times like this will not last and after a hurricane comes a rainbow. Even though being stressed out is not anything uncommon in teenager's life nowadays, I believe that it is all in our own hands and a little bit of stress does not harm us. We just need to learn how to cope with stress and how to avoid getting depressed. It is really easy to affect young people because the younger one is. the harder it is for him to control his emotions. The important thing is to remember that life is a gift and not only do we have to treat others nice, but we also have to care about ourselves.

Seven pounds

with, receives his heart. I think Will Smith is an excellent actor. He makes the movie so real and his acting really touches me. I also enjoy his performance in the movies ,,The pursuit of happiness" and ,,I am legend". The film ,,Seven pounds" shows, that there are not only bad and cold, but also kindhearted and caring people around us. Even though I don't think it's right that he committes a suicide, I think what he did was really moving. I love the film, because I got so many emotions while whatching it and I love whatching movies that affect me somehow. After I had seen the film, I felt like I want to do something nice for someone who really deserves it. I felt like I need to make someone happy. I think everyone who enjoy touching, but at the same time sad movies, should watch ,,Seven pounds". Will Smith is a great actor and he makes the movie realistic. I don't recommend the movie to people, who enjoy funny and childish movies.

Different cultures

around the issue; how close the people stand to each other when they are talking--all of these and many more are rules of politeness which differ from culture to culture. Third factor is "emotional constraints." Different cultures regulate the display of emotion differently. Some cultures get very emotional when they are debating an issue. They yell, they cry, they exhibit their anger, fear, frustration, and other feelings openly. Other cultures try to keep their emotions hidden, exhibiting or sharing only the "rational" or factual aspects of the situation. All of these differences tend to lead to communication problems. If the people involved are not aware of the potential for such problems, they are even more likely to fall victim to them, although it takes more than awareness to overcome these problems and communicate effectively across cultures. In my opinion different cultures are blessing. Different cultures motivate people to

The Catcher in the Rye - kokkuvõte

The Catcher in the Rye Despite being written in the beginning of the 1950s, for me “The Catcher in the Rye” is a novel that many youngsters to this day can relate to. The book tells the story of a troubled teenager Holden Caulfield, who sets off on a short trip to New York, after being expelled from yet another private school, to avoid facing his parents. His dark and at times depressive thoughts and emotions have been mixed with humour and brutal reality, making this book stirring to read. The novel is a fantastic example of the coming of age genre, thanks to its various themes of rebellion, emotional and mental growth and indifferent, “I couldn’t care less” attitude. The themes are apparent throughout the novel, giving the reader a clear view of what it’s like to be a teenager, who has no idea what to do with their life. The rebellious tone of the novel and its characters shines out right from the...

and in rhythm. The most important thing, though, is to have high quality instruments and to keep them well taken care of. Music therapy has existed in its common current form in the United States since around 1944. Live music was used in hospitals after both of the World Wars, as part of the regime for some recovering soldiers. Music has been shown to affect portions of the brain. Part of this therapy is the ability of music to affect emotions and social interactions. Music may reduce heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure in patients with coronary heart disease. Benefits included a decrease in blood pressure, heart rate, and levels of anxiety in heart patients. Listening to Mozart's piano sonata can reduce the number of seizures in people with epilepsy.

Film review - Billy Elliot

story. Billy was a tough kid and managed to convince his father to trust him and Ms Wilkinson about ballet. They softened even his fathers heart that seemed pretty unconvinceable at the first place. Even though I knew it was just a movie I found myself hoping it's all going to be fine and Billy will find a place to belong. Billys grandmother (Jean Heywood), who he was supposed to taka care of, and his dad Jackie (Gary Lewis) played their parts really touchingly and caused all kinds of different emotions. These images of ballet performed by Billy are some still stuck in my mind.
