Typically, a longship is narrower, longer, and shallower than a knarr, and is powered by oars. It is completely open and is built for speed and maneuverability. The knarr was a cargo ship, the hull was wider, deeper and shorter than a longship, and could take more cargo. It was primarily used to transport trading goods. weapons For Vikings, weapons were not only used for battle, but they were also used to show each individual's own wealth and social status. For this reason, most Viking weapons were decorated with precious gems which made them very valuable The main offensive weapons were the spear, sword, and battle axe. Swords were a sign of high status because they were costly to make. Art and crafts Vikings were skilled craftsmen making objects from stone, wood and metal. The blacksmiths were very well respected

"Ender's game"

Little attention is given to the details of this setting, not even the name of the city, and so it comes across as a standard American neighborhood. A shuttle is used as a background in the fourth chapter. It has small narrow corridors and the walls of the rooms were carpeted as floors. The importance of the shuttle is that Ender learned something about orientation in zero gravity and that knowledge helped him a lot later. Most of the time passes in Battle School, which is composed of army barracks with rows of bunk beds; dining halls one for soldiers and one for commanders, with scoreboards decorating both; the game room, with various video games for the children to play; battlerooms, where the children have practice and battles in zero gravity; and a gym with shower rooms, where Ender and Bonzo fight. William the Conqueror

When he saw what a pleasant country it was, he thought he would like to be its king. So he persuaded Edward to promise him the crown. This was something which Edward had no right to do because in those days the King was chosen by a council of wise men. So William had no chance at all. Harold was crowned the King of England on January 5 th, 1066 . William was more than angry when he heard this. He gathered an army all over Europe and started the battle for the crown. William landed in the south of England near a town called Hastings. The Battle of Hastings took place on the 14th of October, 1066 .The Normans outnumbered the Anglo-Saxon forces and were better armed. Normans won the Battle and King Harold was killed, England was invaded. It took several years to conquer the whole England. The Normans encircled London and the Anglo-Saxon nobility had to acknowledge William as the rightful king of England. In 1071 the invasion was completed

If you have created something, then try to be open minded

Because they had created them country and they wanted to keep it and then they united to be much stronger together. That way was harder to destroy these countries and that was also people goal. In last subject I talked about wars and saving and also protecting a state what people had built. This all is in connection with studying an evil. Many years ago for example in 17 century were very funny laws. About five year old boy had to carry knights weapon send him all the way to battle and had to be in battle itself. To me it is too unreasonable that so young boy has to see this awful killing and fighting and also learn this kind of thing. I really can not understand what these people were thinking. Many boys get even killed in battle and it is sad for me because they were too young for dieing. Those people had to be evil when they thought these little boys to kill and commanded them to go to the battle. Someway killing for me is Evil

The Medieval period

The Medieval period The Middle Ages began in 1066, when the Normans defeated Anglo-saxons at the Battle of Hastings. Now England had a Norman king William the Conquer. Norman kings ruled in England less than 100 years, during that time Normans brought England closer to the mainstream of European society. William introduced the feudalism. Under it, land was divided among noble overlords, or barons. Knights pledged their wealth and services to the overlords. In return overlords let them use their land. At the lowest end of the social scale were the serfs, peasants bound to the land

Scotland

Throughout this time the geographical area of Scotland was occupied by several different tribes utilising Iron Age technology with a wide variety of relationships both to one another and to Ancient Rome. Although the Roman presence was an important time in Scottish history, not least because it was when written records first emerged, Roman influence on Scottish culture was not enduring. The Roman invasion under Quintus Petillius Cerialis began in AD 71 and culminated in the battle of Mons Graupius at an unknown location in northern Scotland in 84. Although the Caledonian confederacy suffered a defeat it was not long before the legions abandoned their territorial gains and returned to a line south of the Solway Firth, later consolidated by the construction of Hadrian's Wall. Roman commanders subsequently made various attempts to conquer territory to the north of this line, including

enthusiasm with rational skepticism, lucidity with willful surrender to lyric emotions. "Beylisme," as he understood it, meant cultivating a private sensibility while developing the art of hiding and protecting it. Charterhouse of Parma is Stendhal's other masterpiece. It fuses elements of Renaissance chronicles, fictional and historical sources, recent historical events (the Napoleonic regime in Italy, the Battle of Waterloo, the Austrian occupation of Milan), and an imaginative, almost dreamlike transposition of contemporary reality into fictional terms. I think that this style is suitable for music singers such as Jason Derulo, Pitbull, and Flo Rida - preferably remix. If to judge by that as this girl it is dressed, it is possible to assume that it is engaged to hip hop. I think if it is engaged to hip hop it spends the free time in dance halls-where trains or goes on dancing battle, that most likely. I think that this style is very interesting, but it is not everyday. Nowadays a lot of people do not dress modestly, for example, such things as T-shirt, jacket, jeans and sneakers, and it looks very stylish identically. P.S. It is only my opinion. Polina Golub 10b(H) class homework In this picture I can see girls, and her style looks like hip hop. I can see that this girls is Korean. Her clothes have red, black and white colors. One the

The youngest students of our school in the War of Independence were 15 and the oldest, Martin Hendrikson, celebrated his 21st birthday in 1918, making the average age for our schoolboys 17 years. After a few weeks of training for troops, boys went to war with the battalion for students, the armored trains, the naval battalion and naval landing. Some went to the machine-gun company, the Estonian Defence League, Kalevi Malev or straight to battle. The teachers formed their own unit. Roman invasion

This time the Romans crossed the River Thames. After more fighting, the British tribes promised to pay tribute to Rome and were then left in peace for nearly a century. Third and final invasion In 43 A.D. (43 years after Jesus was born) Emperor Claudius organised the final and successful Roman invasion of Britain. General Plautius led four legions with 25,000 men, plus an equal number of auxiliary soldiers. The biggest battle was fought on the banks of the River Medway. It went on for two days before the Celtic tribes retreated. Many tribes tried to resist the Romans. It took about four years for the invaders to finally gain control over southern England, and another 30 years for them to conquer all of the West Country and the mountains and valleys of Wales. The battle for Yorkshire and the remainder of northern England was still underway in AD 70
