Why drown spring lamb in wine or cream and spices, when with just one or two herbs it is absolutely delicious? If you ask foreigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say "Fish and chips" then stop. It is disappointing, but true that, there is no tradition in England of eating in restaurants, because the food doesn't lend itself to such preparation. English cooking is found at home. So it is difficult to a good English restaurant with a reasonable prices. In most cities in Britain you'll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian restaurants. P.E in my life P.E is very important for all of us. It keeps us healthy and physically fit. I think that every person should do some sports to stay physically fit. If you do sport, you can run about 3 km without getting exhausted. If you don't to any sport, you get tired very quickly and gain a lot of weight. I think that to stay healthy, physically fit and feel good for itself every person should do some sport every day. After you do sport, you have a good feeling and you're happy that you did that. Do whatever - run, walk, play ball games, throw a ball and you do it yourself to feel better. There are P.E lessons in every school. That is good, because some people do not work out, outside the school and so they do at least some movement. In school we have two P.E lessons a week and that isn't enough compared with the 2-4 hours a day that students spend on the internet or watching TV. In our P
Technology has dramatically changed leisure and hobbies Family drives with a car, husband turns the car looking at the GPS directions to home. Wife shares pictures to Instagram with her iPhone and in the backseat girl is playing with her iPad and boy reads on his kindle. This is normal nowadays, because technolgy has been improved for example people can now communicate with each other much faster. It is great, although it can also harm people. Technology is serious responsibility- if people do not use an invention carefully, then it would end up the wrong way. The word „Leisure“ meaning changes in every 10 to 20 years. 50 years ago spare time was
Computer games for and against Nowadays people of all ages all around the world are spending a lot of time playing computer games. It's a general consensus, that playing video games is bad for people's mental and physical health. But is playing computer games really all around bad? First of all I'd like to point put the negative sides of computer gaming. One, that instantly comes to mind is addiction. Nowadays video gaming addiction is fairly common occurence, when kids don't think about anything but playing games on the computer and sacrificing hours upon hours of studying and socializing to play "a few more" rounds. Another bad thing is teen obesity. It's confirmed that the risk being overweight is increased for every hour spent behind the computer

Computerised world – a better or a worse place to live in ? Although computers are said to be one of the most successful inventions there are many people who do not totally agree with that saying. Computers are able to do everything that make our life easier, but why are there still so many different opinions about ones' usefulness? The positive side of having computers in our life is how much it actually changes our life and makes it easier. There are no problems, I mean literally no problems that computers could not do. Computers are used to find information, read news, study, and some even play computer games. But
VIDEO GAMES Video games, nowadays, are a new form of entertainment that has replaced traditional games. As everything in life, it has advantages, if they are used with coherence, but also disadvantages. On the one hand, you can have a good time alone. Besides, there are many logical games where it is possible to learn. Apart from being entertaining, they test your logic and skills. Video games can also improve your reflex actions and develop your imagination. On the other hand, video games can cause addiction and make you lose communication with your family and friends. People sometimes spend too much time in front of the screen, so they are not in the street with their friends. Furthermore, some video games are very aggressive and can influence our behaviour negatively. I believe that if video games are used properly and in the correct measure, they can be fun, but, in my opinion, it is much more interesting to be out with friends and enjoy the fresh air. HAVING A PET

Sports. Sports has a very old history. The ancient Olympic Games were the first big sports competitions. The history of the Olympic Games is linked with many myths referred to in ancient sources, but in the historic years their founder is said to be Oxylos whose descendant Ifitos later rejuvenated the Games. According to the tradition, the Olympic Games began in 776 B.C. when Ifitos made a treaty with Lycourgos the king and famous legislator of Sparta and Cleisthenes the king of Pissa. In this treaty that was the decisive event for the development of the sanctuary as a Panhellenic centre, the "sacred truce" was agreed. That is to say ceasing of fighting in all of the Freek world for as long as the Olympic Games were on. The Olympic Games were held, after the completion of four years during the month of July or August
Pros and cons of sports I'm going to talk about advantages and disadvantages of sports. There are several really good reasons why to do sports but always there is something negative in every good thing you have to take into account. On the one hand, sports are really good for your health. Sporting keeps you fit and gives you dicipline. People who do not sport regularly have more illnesses and tend to be overweight. Also, doing sports even extends life and help reduce the feelings of sadness and depression. In addition to that, sporting keeps children busy. Nowadays a lot of kids tend to stupid things at their spare time so when they are doing anykind of sports it keeps them out of trouble and even away from TV and video games, that have really bad influence on their eyes, student achievement and may make them violent. Sport boosts their self confident, motivation and responsibility as well
ME AND BASKETBALL ,,I want to make my body more balanced trough sport." (Socrates) Basketball is one of the world's most popular and widely viewed sports. Basketball was invented 1891 in Springfield by the local university physical education teacher James Naismith. He was trying to keep his gym class active on a rainy day. He sought a vigorous indoor game to keep his students occupied and at proper levels of fitness during the long New England winters. After rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket onto a 3,05 m elevated track. In contrast with
Topic Health, Healthy habits and sports Health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being. A truly healthy person not only feels good physically but also has a realistic outlook on life and gets along well with other people. Good health enables people to enjoy life and to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. To achieve and maintain good health, people must have basic knowledge about the human body and how it functions. Therefore, learning about health should be a part of every person's education. All parts of body must work together properly to maintain physical health. A person who is in good physical condition has the strength and energy to enjoy an active life. Physical fitness benefits both physical and mental health. It helps the body to withstand stresses that otherwise could cause physical and emotional problems
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY A century ago communication across any distance was dependent upon the telegraph or letters. No jets crossed the ocean, no television pictures enabled us instantly to see events in any part of the world, there were no worldwide telephone networks and no computers. It is just a short lifetime since humanity first travelled into space and discovered how fragile our planet looks. FROM FIREWORKS TO THE MOON At first glance you might think that there couldn't possibly be anything common between a 13 th century festival in China and the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. However, there is a link and that is that they both relied on the use of rockets. The Chinese first developed rockets by filling bamboo tubes with an explosive made from saltpetre, charcoal, and sulphur. The sealed tubes would be thrown onto fires during celebrations because it was thought that the loud explosions would protect them
retested. Some people say "it's as simple as . . . " and then name their pet peeve or passion. My view is not of an education specialist, but of one who loves sharing what I learn, and owes much to educators. Since I don't have an educational theory neatly worked-out, nor an outline of my perceptions, my intent is to address each educational ingredient that comes to my mind. After I've said what I think about each topic, readers may have a fair comprehension of my philosophy. First comes sensitivity. If a person be insensitive, be it from numbing cold, exhaustion, drugs, genetic makeup, or upbringing, then the process of education is bogged down, and results come only after great efforts. Sensitivity in my integrated meaning is broad, covering literally the senses, so that deaf and blind people are less sensitive, as well as people whose senses work perfectly, but whose receptivity or thought processes are blunted for whatever reason
A hobby waste of time? Essay Many people think that hobbies are waste of time and waste of money. A lot of people have their own hobby some of them like it and some of them don't like their hobby. I think if you don't like your hobby, then it's a waste of time. In addition, hobbies can be very different- some people make music, some people do sports, some are collecting marks or something. In my opinion there are some hobbies what are totally waste of time. Like playing video games. They steal you free time and don't give you anything, maybe only bad eyesight. Hobbies like basketball, football, running are very good, it gives you something good body or gives strenght to live, work for something. To sum up, i think that hobby is not waste of time if it is more like a lifestyle, but surely, there are
For example i go to aerobic class twice a week and the other days when I'm home I will go for a walk or exercise on my own at home. It is also very important to drink much water and eat healthy. For example I must eat in the morning and I'm trying not to eat after 6 o'clock and I'm also trying to eat many fruits and vegetables.Am I a sensible eater-well, I think lately I'm trying to be,but I think that I don't have enough self-confidence to do that. But I'm trying and that's a good start in my opinion. I think that the most modern illnesses are for example heart disease, headaches and stress and i also think that regular check-ups with doctors are necessary,it is better to know that you are healthy than to go visit a doctor when your illness has already almost defeated you. I think that every people is responsible for his/her own health. For example you can't go and accuse parliament because you are overweight or having a stress
Sports Centre Jyri sport centre is a modern building with up to date technology. The sports centre includes a gym, budo hall, dance hall, swimming pool and a room where you can play pall games. I think Jyri sports centre has more advantages than disadvantages. I am rather optimistic and think it is such a privilege that we have sports centre in jyri. Thanks to the sports centre there is many hobbies you can choose from. You can learn different martial arts, different dances, basketball, football and table tennis. you can take swimming lessons and much more. When you just want to take a time out you can take a steam bath, a regular sauna or just relax in a bubble bath. To me jyri sports centre has only one disadvantage. That you have to pay for these things which the sports centre includes
Nowadays watchung TV takes up much of oru time. Many people spend their free time in fornt of a TV set. However, watching TV has many advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage of watching Tv is the source of information. We can watch many educational programmes about animals, discoveries, history, physics and many other domains of science.Thank to TV we can get to knowabout the coulture of other countries. We can also do shopping via TV shpping channels. On the other hand, there are a lot of disadvantages. TV absorbsus much time,
Now, nine out of ten families have access to the World Wide Web. As unseemly as it is filled society World Wide Web, the Internet has both supporters and opponents. Opponents of the Internet are mostly parents of children, who believe that their children are spending a large amount of their time at the computer. Virtual reality, leads to a strong computer addiction and a loss of reality, principles, purposes and moral values. It can become a complete substitute for Real life. Computer games promote children's thinking and their creative component. But, in practice Firstly today' s youth prefers arcade and sports games that do not contribute to their creative development, and only chase the adrenaline in the body, bringing a sense of joy to children. Secondly, computer games cause children to develop an addictive desire to play them again and again, which adversely affects the child's development. Impact on a person' s vision. This has a negative impact not only the
Because the smoker inhales only some of the smoke from a cigarette and not all of each puff is absorbed in the lungs, a smoker gets about 1 to 2 milligrams of the drug from each cigarette. A drop of pure nicotine would kill a person-in fact, nicotine can be used as a pesticide on crops. You might hear cigarettes referred to as smokes, cigs, or butts. Smokeless tobacco is often called chew, dip, spit tobacco, or snuff. How Many Teens Use It? More than 3 and one-half million teens between the ages of 12 and 17 use tobacco-that's about 15 percent of teens that age. Of those, just over 3 million, or 13 percent, smoke cigarettes. In the U.S., 66.5 million people, or about 29 percent of the population, use tobacco. With each puff of a cigarette, a smoker pulls nicotine into his or her lungs where it is absorbed into the blood. In eight seconds, nicotine is in the brain, changing the way the brain works.
About Myself From the very start I should say that it is not an easy thing to speak about myself as it is hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? I am a girl of sixteen. When I look at myself in the mirror I see a blond girl with short straight hair, dark eyes and slander figure. As to my appearance I'm rather tall and slim. I have never thought I'm a beauty I whish I were more beautiful. I think that I'm even tempered, rather reserved, calm and modest. But sometimes I can lose my tempo and become either angry or sad. I like staying alone and sometimes I retire into my shell. But at the same time I like my friends, I like to laugh and joke. I have got a sense of humour. It means I understand humour and appreciate it. There are many things in our life I like and some I dislike

PHYSICAL EDUCATION Physical education has long been a staple in schools on a K-12 level and beyond, with all students required to participate in some form of physical education. Also referred to as "gym class" students participated in activities such as team sports, (volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc.) walking or running (running a mile was common), cardiovascular and strength training exercises (such as pull-ups and push-ups) and even swimming. Physical education provides children with an opportunity to exercise during the day. It gives children early exposure to team sports, and promotes good physical fitness. Children who participate in physical education get a workout, and they also learn the importance of exercise as a lifelong habit.
Topic Health Introduction Good health is very important for us. We should do everything we can to stay healthy. Being in good health means having our body and mind in good working order, free from disease and pain. Ways of keeping health There are many ways for keeping health. To stay healthy we should eat right foot, dress comfortably, spend much time in fresh air, have enough rest, keep ourselves clean and have regular checkups with the doctor and the dentist. A big part of prevention of diseseases is sporting. Poeple need to have phsical exercise. If they can not have it, they will get stressed and they will be infected with dieseases much easier. For example it would be good to run every day for some time. That way one probably will not become fat, he or she will get fresh air and rest from daily problems. There are many
Play sports and you get a lot more than just a fit body Sport plays a role in every person's life. A lot of us enjoy doing different sports, others maybe not so much. Everybody needs some sport while growing. It is not only because the world today is filled with computers and people are always sitting by desks. Sport has many positive effects on people besides having a fit body. There is a saying that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Team sports show and teach how to work in a group, how to communicate. People who play sports can release some energy in the game also and they will be calmer, their decisions will be more calculated. Training regularly will teach how to divide their time between school or a job and training. I think that sport is a good way to teach a person some responsibility and consistence, too. To make some improvement in a certain sport a person has to keep training consistently.
.........183 The New Earth Is No Utopia.....................................................................184 Notes...........................................................................................................186 About the Author........................................................................................189 CHAPTER ONE THE FLOWERING OF HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS EVOCATION Earth, 114 million years ago, one morning just after sunrise: The first flower ever to appear on the planet opens up to receive the rays of the sun. Prior to this momentous event that heralds an evolutionary transformation in the life of plants, the planet had already been covered in vegetation for millions of years. The first flower probably did not survive for long, and flowers must have remained rare and isolated phenomena, since conditions were most likely not yet favorable for a widespread flowering to occur. One day,
Location: My kinda town is located in the south of Europe on the westernmost tip of the country. The region it belongs to is bordering two seas, one in the west and another one to the southwest It is situated on the mainland about 20 km off the coast. It has mainly flat terrain with several hills. Climate: My kinda town has the Mediterranean climate. There are 4 seasons; however spring and autumn are very short. Usually summers are dry and very warm, winters are rainy and mild. Temperatures during winter only occasionally fall below the freezing point and snow generally is seldom seen. In the summer, the temperatures range from mild to very warm. Spring is relatively warm and autumn is mild with few rains and time when
games programming. It assumes the reader is familiar with Java, but presents short overviews of gaming, the low-level APIs OpenGL and DirectX, and Java 3D. No programming examples are included here, although links to online code are supplied. 1. Background to Gaming Giving a definition for `computer game' is problematic, due to the wide range of game types. For example, the ArcadePod site (http://www.arcadePod.com) divides its hundreds of Java games into more than ten categories: 3D games, multiplayer, action, classic, indoor sports, board, outdoor sports, card, mind, casino, educational, and the useful `miscellaneous' catch-all. This makes it difficult to pin down the typical content of a game, and highlights the range of design and programming skills required to create one. Another problem with giving a definition is that game platforms vary enormously, including PCs, dedicated game consoles (e.g. the Sony PlayStation 2), arcade machines, web-based games, hand-held consoles (e
