How to Stop Water Pollution

The oil used to lubricate engines in all types of machines needs to be changed regularly. When the oil is changed, it presents a number of environmental hazards if not disposed of properly. As oil moves throughout the crank case of an engine, it breaks down into many different types of carcinogenic and even mutagenic compounds. When a leaky engine releases this oil into the street, it runs to the sewer and from there it becomes part of a laundry-list of contaminants that makes its way into waterways. Even a small drip of oil can turn into a disaster when you consider the fact that there are more than 250 million cars on the road in the United States alone. Even if all of these vehicles were in perfect working order, the disposal of the used oil would still be a huge issue. Clean Up Beaches and Waterways Wherever you have waterways that see a lot of human recreation, you will almost always see lots of evidence of human use. Wrappers, bottles and other trash are unfortunately a common

of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz, City Hall, Chinatown, Museum of Modern Art and AT&T Park, where I could watch the baseball match of San Francisco Giants. Secondly I'd like to visit Australian city Sydney. I'd certainly go to the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Town Hall, Taronga Zoo and sunbathe on the beautiful beaches. My third and final choice is European city in Italy Venice. It's popular with its waterways. I'd like to travel along the Grand Canal by a Venetian boat called gondola. There are also other sights I'd like to see. For example the Salute, the Ponte dei Sospiri, often called the "Bridge of Sighs", Piazza San Marco and St Mark's Basilica. I find it fabulous to see the Carnival of Venice. In conclusion, I love to travel, so it's difficult for me to choose, but if I could go anywhere in the world, then San Francisco, Sydney and Venice are the cities I'd choose.

Some alternative energy sources, notably wind farms, are being developed n various parts of Britain. Economy The development of industry in Britain was a long process. Industrialization took place earlier and more rapidly than anywhere else because the existing conditions were favorable in England. In Britain there is a good system of internal waterways and canals, there are no physical barriers to trade and that made the transport of goods less difficult than in other nations. The south-eastern part of England is the most densely populated region. It is the main centre of printing, clothes and food industry. In that region lie the two biggest airports - Heathrow and Gatwick. The largest town is London, which is an important financial and cultural centre. East Anglia is extremely flat and is dominated by agriculture.

decreased by 1.8% and 2.4% in 1996 and 1997, respectively. The decrease in GDP in 1996 and 1997 was largely due to significant problems in the financial sector and, in 1997, a severe island-wide drought (the worst in 70 years) that drastically reduced agricultural production. In 1997, nominal GDP was approximately J$220,556.2 million (US$6,198.9 million based on the average annual exchange rate of the period). Canada's capital city is Ottawa, Ontario. Central Canada is also the most heavily populated and industrialized area of Canada, particularly in the south around the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. The Great Lakes are the largest body of fresh water in the world. In order of size they include Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Some of the first settlements were built along the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes. Today, these waterways are still an important transportation route to Canada's interior. Though heavily populated, the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands in the south is only a small geographic region in Central Canada. The largest part is covered by the rocky Canadian Shield. In the far north we may find the Hudson Bay Lowlands that are swampy, cold and flat and with very few towns or cities. 24. Recent political developments in the north in relation to global warming. The Arctic Council is a high-level intergovernmental forum that addresses issues faced by the Arctic governments and the indigenous people of the Arctic. It has eight member countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. Due to the climate change and melting of the Arctic sea-ice, more energy resources and waterways are now becoming accessible. Large reserves of oil, gas and minerals are located within the Arctic. This environmental factor generated territorial disputes among Member States. Because of the thawing of the Northwest Passage and the suspected resource riches under the Arctic seabed, more and more countries are took an interest in the waterways of the Canadian Arctic. If you could get the right ten thousand people to move from Silicon Valley to Buffalo, Buffalo would become Silicon Valley. That's a striking departure from the past. Up till a couple decades ago, geography was destiny for cities. All great cities were located on waterways, because cities made money by trade, and water was the only economical way to ship. Now you could make a great city anywhere, if you could get the right people to move there. So the question of how to make a silicon valley becomes: who are the right people, and how do you get them to move? Two Types I think you only need two kinds of people to create a technology hub: rich people and nerds
