''How much does life weigh?''

How much does life weigh? The question can be understood differently. Some might take it word by word, others in some metaphorical way. Many are convinced that a human body has an immortal part - a soul. With knowing how few it actually weights, we can only assume what we have in these grams and whether it is anything worth at all. First of all, what do we claim to be a soul? It is our conscience with no form or location. It is the energy that is a part of the whole universe. In consideration of this, every human being has their own soul

"Rain man"

The main problem in this movie is greed. Charlie only cares about money. When he finds out that his estranged father had left his inheritance to someone else, he gets mad. That is the reason why he took Raymond from the institution where he was living. He wanted to take the money from his brother even when he realised that there was something wrong with him. At least he came to his senses in the end. The second problem revolves around Raymond and his disability. No one understood what he was going through. At that time, autism wasn't a widely known disorder. Nowadays, there is still no actual cure for it but it can be managed. Many people who are autistic can live relatively normal lives. The therapy for autism is usually different for every subject. It has to be developed for the patients' needs. In the movie, Raymond didn't have that. Even his own brother thought he was crazy and stupid when in reality, he was exceptionally smart and understood numbers the way

Character sketch - Shel, Orlando by Virginia Woolf

When Orlando said that she loved Shel, they discovered something at the same time. He comprehended that Orlando was a man and Orlando realized that Shel was a woman. He could not believe that Orlando was a woman because she was ,,as tolerant and free-spoken as a man" and Orlando was astonished because Shel was ,,as strange and subtle as a woman". Surprisingly their relationship did not get weird after that, on the contrary they got along even better and understood each other perfectly. In Shel, Orlando found someone like her, an individual not defined by his gender. He combines qualities of both genders, and is thus compatible with Orlando. Orlando thought that Shel's name suited him because "there was something romantic and chivalrous, passionate, melancholy, yet determined about him which went with the wild, dark- plumed name." His full name showed the multi-faceted aspect of his experiences and personality.

The whole film places were perfect. There was not anything difficult to understand, everything were clearly understood. The Last Song is a very good romantic drama. I recommend that film to everybody who likes drama. That film has a meaning message. It is worth to watch.

Nobody can win a war

Terrible memories would not leave people. Every time they recall those events, they suffer again because no one is able to make somebody happy fighting. Thirdly, a lot of people die. Families lose their breadwinners and children become orphans. Moreover, some of them may become homeless, it takes lots of time to rehabilitate and restore cities. Hunger and illnesses make innocent people unhappy. All in all, despite the fact that we live in the XXI century, we have not understood yet that not any purpose of war can justify people's lives and that nobody can win a war.

When communicating with human beings, adult cats express variations of this tone to demand food or attention, register complaints, and convey bewilderment. An alteration in tone, pace, or punctuation changes the meaning, however slight. Purring · A purr is a sound made by most species of felids, but most large felines like tigers do not. A tonal buzzing can characterize differently between cats. · Purring is often understood as signifying happiness; however, cats sometimes purr when they are ill, or during tense, traumatic, or painful moments. Body language · Cats communicate a variety of messages using body language. Examples include arching their backs as a signal of fear or aggression, and slowly blinking to signal relaxation. annoyance. When Jane was at school, she was always losing things. Past Continuous is not used to describe general habitual actions, without the sense of criticism mentioned above. Past Simple is used for this meaning. When I lived in London, I walked through the park every day. 4 Used to & would Used to This often contrasts with the present. The contrast may be stated or understood. I used to go swimming a lot (but I don’t now). The negative form is either: I didn't use to or I used not to (rare for some speakers) The form I didn’t used to may also be found. This is usually considered incorrect, unless we consider used to as an unchanging semi-modal form. There is no present time reference possible. Would This is used to describe repeated actions, not states. It describes a habitual activity which was typical of a person.

Conventional medicine has little to learn from alternative medicine

Conventional medicine has little to learn from alternative medicine. In our modern world more and more people look for alternative medicine instead of taking conventional treatment. Which of these treatments is better or can they both be used effectively in different cases? It is generally understood that when having a severe condition or an emergency, conventional treatment is strongly needed. For example, in a case of a heart attack or a severed limb, it is vital to find a way to a hospital or surgeon in a hurry. Unlike alternative medicine, conventional medicine has proven effectiveness and is scientifically based, while alternative medicine has a lack of scientific basis and its results are not always consistent.

Every year many people come to riversides and lakesides to have a rest. But many of them are absolutely unfriendly with our nature. Due to this situation I had cleaned lakesides many times. Secondly, we should follow some simple rules that everybody know, but still a lot of people does not keep. I do not like to throw litter away where it is not allowed and may cause pollution. When I see some of my friends doing this then I explain usually that it is not good and why. Many of them have understood me. However, all things in nature are dependent on one another and we should act together. Humanity is utterly in contact with a healthy natural environment. So, we have to choose, if we want to let things happen how they are now or let next generations to take the clean air and drink unpolluted water.

Teaching the Vocabulary of the Text

Teaching the Vocabulary of the Text The Summary is based on the text taken from the Journal `The News letter' written by David Cranmer. Principal among the reasons is the obvious one that once the extensive context is understood, it is easier to concentrate on the detail of individual words. Large-scale vocabulary building is, in general terms, therefore better done after the text has been presented. (Cranmer 1986:60) Another important reason is that it is possible at this stage to exploit the new lexis in its own right, not just as a means comprehension, If we are to bring new vocabulary into active use and not just passive understanding, it is not sufficient for us just to teach it. It should be done

Essee "Teenager and pocket money"

Should teenagers nowadays earn their pocket money. Many children earn their pocket money by doing some jobs at home, but lots of them do not need to work for it. I think that it depends on the specific children whether his/her parents should pay him/her. My parents do not give me money for bringing firewood or mowing the lawn. They have never paid me for such jobs and I think I would feel rather bad if they did. I have understood that I need these domestic jobs done as much as everybody else in my family. My mother doesn't get paid for feeding me, so why should I be better than her. I know a family where one of the children gets paid for simple domestic jobs and the other does not. It seems unfair to me. On the other hand, I find that getting paid for chores could be rather good motivator for younger kids. In the world full of computers and TVs we are getting lazier day by day. What are the most needed professions in the 21st century?

What are the most needed professions in the 21st century? People are often asking me what are the most needed professions in the 21st century. I've understood that in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, the ones that are connected with computers. In my opinion one of the most needed professions is a doctor. I know we have a lot of doctors, but a lot of them go to a foreign country. Mostly because of the low salary in Estonia. In my opinion the second most needed profession is a really good goverment employee. Estonians want some changes in their lives. Our goverment employees only think about earning more money.

Sebastian was in the bed and very sleepy, he couldn't understand and he thought this was just a dream, but in the morning he understood this was real. Cassy was already half way to Far Far Away when she reached ocean. At the beach she saw red bubbles shaped as big basketballs. Crossing beach made her journey much harder. Finally she reached Far Far Away. It was really snowy there. Despite the snow there were green flowers everywhere. She took some green flowers and began to run back home. least three drawbacks to this kind of progress. Firstly, terrorists or psychopaths might use medications and researches to attack innocent people. Secondly, viruses are becoming stronger and immune to drugs, because people are using too much medicaments and pathogens are becoming more familiar with them. The biggest problem with advanced medicine is that people are counting too much on it and do not take care of themselves anymore. While the pros of medical development are understood, it still has a lot of disadvantages. My own opinion is that even if the evolution seems initially harmless and life-saving, it has its own demerits that people cannot even imagine. By letting the medicine evolve, we are taking a major step toward ignorance.

“What does success come from?”

"What does success come from?" "What does success come from?"is a question that every one wants to know exactly the answer. The first group of people thinks that taking risks or chances is what a person needs to become successful in his life while the second one whom I agree with believes that careful planning is the most important cause of our success in life. Careful planning may be simply considered as preparation that can be understood that one identifies his aim, lists his steps, and does a research if necessary. Analyzing it in that way, we can know why it becomes the most important cause of success. An English saying goes: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunities". With such a careful plan, I am sure that we will have enough abilities to realize a lot of opportunities and seize them. Having prepared, one will be able to have a general look at the opportunity. How much do you know about biology?

Genes are the primary units of inheritance in all organisms. A gene is a unit of heredity and corresponds to a region of DNA that influences the form or function of an organism in specific ways. Homeostasis is the ability of an open system to regulate its internal environment to maintain stable conditions by means of multiple dynamic equilibrium adjustments controlled by interrelated regulation mechanisms. Energy is a quantity that is often understood as the ability to perform work. Future of biology rests in harnessing data avalanche. Like most sciences, biology is inundated with data. However, a group of researchers warns in a Nature feature that the avalanche of biological information is at the point where the discipline may be unable to reach its full potential without improvements for curating data into on-line databases. Biology has changed a lot, but the basics remain the same

other subjects that they really find interesting to speak about. I believe these subjects need also considering because the majority of youth actually has no idea or interest who represents them or how politics work for that matter. I find having a dialogue with students is a good opportunity for creating good relationships between the two parties in question. Secondly, I find it necessary to make sure that understood the system. If I were an English teacher I certainly would not be an epicene, sterile and clinical ,,toad". On contrary, I would make the best out of me to forbid all final exams and tests because I find final exams and sending students to olympiads rather pointless and waste of time because all in all they chase only the facts. Ability to think has fallen back substantially. I would do everything to help them undestand the system in addition to the facts or basic grammar.

A short story

One day before the interview I set the alarm clock at 7.00am, so that I would have enough time to get ready. The interview started at 9.00am. I woke up in the morning because I heard a door bell and wondered who could come so early. I saw my neighbour standing at the door holding a newspaper. ,,You always come at 8 o'clock. What are you doing here so early?" I asked. She raised her eyebrows, felt really confused and said she had come as usual. I glanced at my watch and understood that my alarm clock hadn't rang. My job interview would start in one hour and I had to hurry on a bus. Half an hour later I was in the bus station and felt relieved because I had still 5 minutes until my bus came. So I waited and looked at the timetable and saw that the bus drove every working day except that day. ,,Oh, great," I said ironically. I wanted to call a taxi, but found out that I had left my phone at home while I was rushing around.

Philosophy today

"Analytic" philosophy Continental philosophy is more influential on the European continent Analytic philosophy is predominant in the major research universities in the English-speaking world Analytic Philosophy Analytic philosophy developed from attempts in the early 20th century to make our concepts precise. The model of this procedure was science. Emphasis in contemporary analytic philosophy is on language and meaning, and meaning is understood as a relation between language and objective reality. Thus, understanding the structure of language is what reveals the structure of reality. Continental Philosophy At the same time that analytic philosophy was emerging, E. Husserl was developing his "phenomenological" approach to philosophy. He too emphasized high standards of clarity and precision, but sought them more in the rigorous description of our immediate experience (the
