The invention of the car changed the world
People have learned to get by as comfortably as possible. They have invented all kinds of things to make their lives easier. One man in history did a big favour to all of us. That knowledgeable man was Henry Ford who invented a machine, which was called automobile. Nowadays it is known as a car.
Inventing a car made our lives easier. Nowadays people can move much faster from one place to the other and it is also more comfortable. There are very many different functions of automobiles. They are used primely for transporting things and people as well.
Cars are very useful for people, but not beneficial for nature . Year after year people buy more cars instead of taking a bus. Owing to this, the air pollution has been doubled up in few years .
It's not only nature that gets damaged by cars. People could also get injured and some of them may even die in car accidents. Accidents are caused mostly by people, but sometimes of the technical problems. So cars are not completely reliable.
Cars changed the transportation industry forever . No longer did you have to ride a horse or use your energy to ride a bike. All you had to do was sit in a car, push a pedal and it would move for you.

THE CAPITALIST NIGER

Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation, diseases and non-provision of essential services than when we got our independence. There are all kinds of wars in Africa than the rest of world put together. The majority of so-called Africans leaders want to stay in power until the day their bodies are put in the grave. Through buffoonery, utter mismanagement and downright stealing of the wealth of the masses, these leaders have so impoverished Africa that we are now nothing but a beggar continent. We beg for everything; we are more dependent on our colonial masters than when we received our independence from them

It rains very often in all seasons in Great Britain. Autumn and winter are the wettest. The sky is usually grey and cold winds blow. On the average, Britain has more than 200 rainy days a year. The English say that they have 3 variants of weather: when it rains in the morning, when it rains in the afternoon, and when it rains all day long. Sometimes it rains so heavily, that they say «It's raining cats and dogs». Britain is known all over the world for its fogs. Sometimes fogs are so thick that it's impossible to see anything within a few meters. The winter fogs of London are, indeed, awful; they surpass all imagination. In a dense fog all traffic is stopped, no vehicle can move from fear of dreadful accidents. So, we may say that the British climate has three main features: it is mild, humid and very changeable. Vocabulary: to surround -- insular climate -- to determine -- temperate belt -- prevailing winds -- the Gulf Stream --

energy) that turned water wheels to perform work. Before electricity generation began over 100 years ago, houses were lit with kerosene lamps, food was cooled in iceboxes, and rooms were warmed by wood-burning or coal-burning stoves. Beginning with Benjamin Franklin's experiment with a kite one stormy night in Philadelphia, the principles of electricity gradually became understood. Thomas Edison helped change everyone's life -- he perfected his invention -- the electric light bulb. Prior to 1879, direct current (DC) electricity had been used in arc lights for outdoor lighting. In the late-1800s, Nikola Tesla pioneered the generation, transmission, and use of alternating current (AC) electricity, which can be transmitted over much greater distances than direct current. Tesla's inventions used electricity to bring indoor lighting to our homes and to power industrial machines.

Speech on Fast developing technology

Good afternoon! My name is Egert and... ...Today I'm here to talk about advantages and disadvantages of fast development of modern technology. I think we all have noticed that almost every day there are new technology achievements at the stores. Whether we like it or not, it improves in every second, in every minute. New Apple iPhones, iPads and other i-devices are everywhere. Even tractors have a built-in computer in them. So, is it a blessing or a curse? I'm sure that most of you think it's a blessing. Do you? We like our comfortable lives, we like it when everything has been done for us already. We want to have the newest mobile phones and best cars to show off and be better than our friends. However, it can make people selfish and egoistic. They want more and more and more. In the past 10 years modern technology has improved so fast that it is clearly visible when we compare technology in the years 2002 and 2012. When I was a little boy, I remember the

Environment and transportation

The following 10 activities will be a great help in solving our transportation problems. Do as many of these as you can, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Together we can make a difference! 1. Get a Better Vehicle --- If you need to drive, replace your old car with one of the new hybrid gas and electric cars - and you could save as much as $11,000 on gas and produce 107 fewer tons of carbon dioxide. The new efficient hybrids are reliable and drive just like standard cars. If you make no other transportation changes in your life, this one will make a huge difference. 2. Walk to Your Destination --- If it's a reasonable distance, you'll save energy and improve your health. Walking also helps to reduce tension and stress. Get some good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and hoof it! 3. Ride Your Bike --- If you need to travel a greater distance, take your bike. Again, it's good exercise, it feels great and it's fun. 4. Take a Bus --- Many communities have a pub
