Sellist suhtumist võib aga pidada kunstnike eksiarvamuseks Suzan Boettgeri uurimusest ,,Earthworks: Art and the Landscape in the Sixties" tuleb välja, et termin earthworks kehtib rangelt võttes varase, 60-te lõpu ja 70-te alguse maastikukunsti kohta. Termin land art võeti kasutusele hiljem ning see on olemuselt laiem kategooria. Earthworks-i teosed ei tohtinud Boettgeri sõnul olla kallilt hinnatud kunstiobjektid, kuigi tegemist oli siiski esteetiliselt väärtuslike teostega, mille valmimist toetasid patroonid. National bird The barn swallow, the national bird, is a characteristic guest of Estonian homes. Its call can be heard from practically every eave or barn rafter in the country. If the bird finds a suitable opening, under the ridge of a roof or a broken window, it will build its cup-shaped nest; it will even build it inside a house. The choice of the barn swallow as a national bird was mainly the result of a campaign conducted by ornithologists at the beginning of the sixties. The Barn Swallow has been the national bird of Estonia since 23 June 1960. National stone Estonian national stone is the country's valuable grey limestone. Estonia lies on a thick layer of limestone which is visible on the steep banks of northern and western Estonia. Most castles, churches, farm buildings, and countless stone fences are made of limestone. Research on limestone and its well-preserved fossils has for centuries brought Estonian scientists international renown

Joseph Mallord William Turner and "The Fighting 'Temeraire'

He was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. He has laid the foundation for Impressionism. Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. He is commonly known as "the painter of light". One of his main themes was the helplessness and smallness of man against the destructive forces of nature. One of my favourite paintings is "The Fighting `Temeraire' tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up. Turner was in his sixties when he painted this painting. It shows his mastery of painting techniques to suggest sea and sky. It depicts one of the last second-rate ships of the line which played a distinguished role in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Turner's main concern was to evoke a sense of loss, rather than to give an exact recording of the event. The painting "The Fighting 'Temeraire' " was painted in the years 1838-1839. The painting technique is oil, 91 x 122 cm. The painting type is landscape

(O'Brien, L. (1999). Sounds of the Psychedelic Sixties. Psühhedeelse muusika alguseks võibki pidada Bob Dylani 1966. aasta maikuus ilmunud duubelalbumit ,,Blonde on Blonde". Kuna tollane populaarmuusika seisnes

After the application of measures proposed by scientists of the Limnological Station ,big and valuable fish species became dominating. The natural eel have been caught in some years. Bob Marley

[7] Religion Bob Marley was a member of the Rastafari movement, whose culture was a key element in the development of reggae. Bob Marley became the leading proponent of the Rastafari, taking their music out of the socially deprived areas of Jamaica and onto the international music scene. Now considered a "Rasta" legend, Marley's adoption of the characteristic Rastafari dreadlocks, famous use of cannabis as a sacred sacrament, and vegetarianism [8], which in the late sixties were an integral part of his persona. He is said to have entered every performance proclaiming the divinity of Jah Rastafari. On November 4, 1980 Marley was baptized by the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Kingston, Jamaica. Here is what Archbishop Abuna Yesehaq had to say on Marley: "Bob was really a good brother, a child of God, regardless of how people looked at him. He had a desire to be baptised long ago, but there were people close to him who controlled him

versals that burst into violence. The racial conflict in America's cities during the mid-1960s represents a case in point that many of us can recall. At the time, it was not uncommon to hear the question, "Why now?" It didn't seem to make sense that within their 300-year his- tory, most of which had been spent in servitude and much of the rest in privation, American blacks would choose the socially progressive sixties as the time to revolt. Indeed, as Davies points out, the two decades after the start of World War II had brought dramatic political and economic gains to the black population. In 1940, blacks faced stringent legal restrictions in such areas as housing, transportation and education; moreover, even when the amount of education was the same, the average black family earned only a bit more than half the amount its counterpart white family earned
