Land Art

LAND ART Maastikukunsti mõistest Land art ehk maastikukunst on 1960-te lõpus ja 1970-te alguses esile kerkinud kunstivorm, mille algne tegevusala hõlmas peamiselt (loodus) keskkonda. Kunstiteoste loomiseks kasutatakse tihti kive, puitu, pinnast, taimi ja muid looduslike materjale. Loodud kunstiteosed on enamasti ajutised, sest nad rajatakse välialadele ja nad kestavad kuni loomuliku lagunemiseni. Maastikukunst põhineb installatsioonidel ja on tihti tihedalt seotud keskkonnaga, kuhu nad rajatakse. Kuigi oluline on teose füüsiline tajumine, näeb enamus publikust (ajalikke) töid ikkagi vaid (ajatute) fotode vahendusel. Taiesed on tihtipeale olnud suuremõõtkavalised, mis on üks kunstivoolu suhteliselt suure populaarsuse põhjuseks kunstnike seas antud kunstivorm on andnud kunstnikele võimaluse teostada suuremaid töid, kui kui üheski galeriis mugavalt eksponeerida saaks ( Wikipedia , Land art). Symbols of Estonia

National bird The barn swallow, the national bird, is a characteristic guest of Estonian homes. Its call can be heard from practically every eave or barn rafter in the country. If the bird finds a suitable opening, under the ridge of a roof or a broken window, it will build its cup-shaped nest; it will even build it inside a house. The choice of the barn swallow as a national bird was mainly the result of a campaign conducted by ornithologists at the beginning of the sixties. The Barn Swallow has been the national bird of Estonia since 23 June 1960. National stone Estonian national stone is the country's valuable grey limestone. Estonia lies on a thick layer of limestone which is visible on the steep banks of northern and western Estonia. Most castles, churches, farm buildings, and countless stone fences are made of limestone. Research on limestone and its well-preserved fossils has for centuries brought Estonian scientists international renown

Joseph Mallord William Turner and "The Fighting 'Temeraire'

He was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. He has laid the foundation for Impressionism. Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. He is commonly known as "the painter of light". One of his main themes was the helplessness and smallness of man against the destructive forces of nature. One of my favourite paintings is "The Fighting `Temeraire' tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up. Turner was in his sixties when he painted this painting. It shows his mastery of painting techniques to suggest sea and sky. It depicts one of the last second-rate ships of the line which played a distinguished role in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Turner's main concern was to evoke a sense of loss, rather than to give an exact recording of the event. The painting "The Fighting 'Temeraire' " was painted in the years 1838-1839. The painting technique is oil, 91 x 122 cm. The painting type is landscape

(O'Brien, L. (1999). Sounds of the Psychedelic Sixties. Psühhedeelse muusika alguseks võibki pidada Bob Dylani 1966. aasta maikuus ilmunud duubelalbumit ,,Blonde on Blonde". Kuna tollane populaarmuusika seisnes

Bob Marley

[7] Religion Bob Marley was a member of the Rastafari movement, whose culture was a key element in the development of reggae. Bob Marley became the leading proponent of the Rastafari, taking their music out of the socially deprived areas of Jamaica and onto the international music scene. Now considered a "Rasta" legend, Marley's adoption of the characteristic Rastafari dreadlocks, famous use of cannabis as a sacred sacrament, and vegetarianism [8], which in the late sixties were an integral part of his persona. He is said to have entered every performance proclaiming the divinity of Jah Rastafari. On November 4, 1980 Marley was baptized by the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Kingston, Jamaica. Here is what Archbishop Abuna Yesehaq had to say on Marley: "Bob was really a good brother, a child of God, regardless of how people looked at him. He had a desire to be baptised long ago, but there were people close to him who controlled him

and he offered to sell me his truck cheap." "What year is it?" I could see from his change of expression that this was the question he was hoping I wouldn't ask. "Well, Billy's done a lot of work on the engine -- it's only a few years old, really." I hoped he didn't think so little of me as to believe I would give up that easily. "When did he buy it?" "He bought it in 1984, I think." "Did he buy it new?" "Well, no. I think it was new in the early sixties -- or late fifties at the earliest," he admitted sheepishly. "Ch -- Dad, I don't really know anything about cars. I wouldn't be able to fix it if anything went wrong, and I couldn't afford a mechanic..." "Really, Bella, the thing runs great. They don't build them like that anymore." The thing, I thought to myself... it had possibilities -- as a nickname, at the very least. "How cheap is cheap?" After all, that was the part I couldn't compromise on.

versals that burst into violence. The racial conflict in America's cities during the mid-1960s represents a case in point that many of us can recall. At the time, it was not uncommon to hear the question, "Why now?" It didn't seem to make sense that within their 300-year his- tory, most of which had been spent in servitude and much of the rest in privation, American blacks would choose the socially progressive sixties as the time to revolt. Indeed, as Davies points out, the two decades after the start of World War II had brought dramatic political and economic gains to the black population. In 1940, blacks faced stringent legal restrictions in such areas as housing, transportation and education; moreover, even when the amount of education was the same, the average black family earned only a bit more than half the amount its counterpart white family earned
