Letter of complaint

'Student Slaves at Workcamp'. I explain each of the mistakes below. Firstly, you described the camp as something extremely dreadful, although there was very fun and the atmosphere was great. Secondly, you claimed that at the camp were 30 students, but actually there were only 15 of us, maybe even less. The final point I want to make concerns accommodation. We did not spend the nights in old tents. All of us slept in modern, wooden buildings with many more showers than you claimed to be there. Could I please ask you to look into these matters. I would like to see correct information about the camp in the next issue. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Kaire Lusti

Assessment Report

As requested, the purpose of this report is to describe and assess the suitability of this camp site for inclusion in our brochure. Location The site consists of a 500 m2 field overlooking the village of Bagsbottom-by-Sea. It is easily accessible to customers arriving by road or rail. Although the site offers an outstanding view, it is not protected from the wind. It can, in fact, become quite chilly in the evenings. Features Hillside has large shower block consisting of 10 showers and toilets for men and the same for woman. However, the cleanliness of the shower and toilet blocks is not of an acceptable standard. There is a bus service to the village, yet it is inconvenient as since it runs only every 30 or 60 minutes. Hillside also has launderette, a restaurant and a bar, although the restaurant and bar are expensive. Conclusion On the face of it, Hillside Camping offers an outstanding view, a bar and a restaurant. However, the facilities are below standard

How to deal with water shortage problems?

world. We need water to live on this planet otherwise life on Earth wouldn't be possible. Many countries suffer from water shortages. There is no fresh water for people usage. It's actually a major problem in the world but what can we do to decrease this? Firstly, people need to realise that there are many other people in the world who does not have accessibility to water. We can decrease it by not wasting water on pointless things for example long showers and watering flowers outside the house. By doing this we will economize water and it may be possible for other people to use fresh water as well. Secondly, it is really important to keep the water fresh and clean but many factories let their sewage into the groundwater which can cause a pollution and the lack of fresh water around that area. We can prevent this from not letting the factories do that or insist them on water treatment.

because these are using less energy and even last longer. If you use renewable energy sources, you won’t cause burning fossil fuels, that causes pollution. Another way how to help the enviroment would be saving water. Turn off the water, when you’re not using it. People often leave water running, when they’re brushing teeth- turn if off between rinses! If you find a leak somewhere, fix it and in the meantime put a bowl orsm under the drip. Also you should conserve water. Take shorter showers, run your dishwasher only when it’s completely full and if possible reuse water. Also you can help the enviroment by recycling and conserving. Recycle all you can. There’s usually one trash can for bags, one for glass, one for cans, one for boxes, one for plastic and one for paper. Use them correctly. Anyway you should avoid using plastic- it never breaks down, and has led to the poisoning and death of numerous sea creatures. Don’t use plastic bags, use reusable fabric bags instead

We Do Not Inherit the Earth From our Ancestors; We Borrow It From Our Children

Children Some of the people think that the Earth is like something, that we can take and it will grow back like apples every summer on trees. But I do not think it does. I think we borrow it from the future. Firstly we are using too much water nowadays. We are wasting it and not thinking about the future, but we should. Lately the media has started to speak more about the need for clean water, specially in some parts of the Earth. In the past people did not have showers or baths, toilets with water, dishwashers. These and many other things use more water, than people used to. Secondly we are producing a lot more, than we maybe should. It seems like the most meaningful thing nowadays is money. Maybe because of that we are over producing. If we look at the landfills we can see how full they are. I think it is that way because we produce too much and use too much packages. We should produce only as much we really need or in the future a really big part of earth

Kuidas on uuritud RLSi tagajärgi? 3 1.

wake up. This is a family who have chosen to fill their home with every conceivable gadget. They have nine television sets, including one in each bedroom and in the kitchen. All the children have their own personal computers and CD players. Of course, there are all the usual appliances we all take for granted, such as the washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, deep freeze, microwave oven, and video recorder, but they also have an electric trouser press, two power showers, an Olympic-sized spa bath and jacuzzi, three cars, and a music system which plays throughout the whole house. The experiment. What happens if all the props of modern living are removed? To help us find out, we asked the Joneses to turn back the clock fifty years and to switch off all their labour-saving gadgets and push-button entertainment for three days. We also wanted them to stop using their cars. The family, comprising Malcolm, 48, Carol, 43, and their four children Emma, 17,

Getting people to make a commitment to something small with the hope of persuading them to agree to something larger afterwards. Dickerson et al. first asked university students to sign a poster saying `'Take shorter showers! If I can do it, so can you!'' and then to fill a survey that would make them think about their own water wastage. Their shower times were then monitored. People who had filled the forms had lower approximate time for showers compared to the other people in the campus. This technique can be seen in daily life by getting people to sign petition against some law or in support of some political party. This might influence

....60 17.3 How Does Oil Impact The Environment?................................................................60 3 ENERGY STORY Once upon a time, in a town not far away, there was an 8th grader who was afraid of the dark. Her name was Jules. She was also afraid of the quiet, and of the cold. So she always left on the lights, the TV, and stereo even when she had her I-Pod earbuds on. She took lots of very long, hot showers. She never walked anywhere, but got rides from her mom in a big SUV. She couldn't be happy unless she was using all the energy she possibly could for all the stuff around her. Her friend, Les, didn't like to use any energy at all. He walked to school, read books instead of watching TV, played the trumpet instead of Guitar Hero, and turned off the lights anytime he left a room. Then one evening, there was a power outage. The lights went out, the TV turned off, and everything became very quiet

Then turn around and back into the water, focusing the water on your lower neck and upper back. Maintain this position for 13 minutes as you acclimate and apply soap to all the necessary regions. By the time I clocked out and headed downstairs, I still hadn't heard from Gideon. I was such an emotional disaster at that point I felt only a single, sharp twinge of despair as I exited the Crossfire. I made it to the gym. I shut my brain off and ran full-bore on the treadmill, fleeing the anguish that would hit me soon enough. I ran until sweat coursed in rivulets down my face and body, and rubber legs forced me to stop. Feeling battered and exhausted, I hit the showers. Then I called my mother and asked her to send Clancy to the gym to pick me up for our appointment with Dr. Petersen. As I put my work clothes back on, I mustered the energy to get through that last task before I could go home and collapse on my bed. I waited for the town car at the curb, feeling separate and apart from the city teeming around me. When Clancy pulled up and hopped out to open the back door for me, I was startled to see my mom already inside. It was early yet
