Letter to editor

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my disapproval of the Westwale Councils decision to sell the land of the Longheath Park. In my opinion, this is a terrible idea which will have many disadvantages for our town. Firstly, if the park is sold to the property developer, he will built an estate of 50 houses on the land. As a result, there will be no open spaces left. Therefore, children will not have a chance to play freely, and people will have nowhere to walk their dogs or ride their bikes. Secondly, there will be less green areas in town. Obviously, this will be very unhealthy, as people need fresh air and natural surroundings for good health. What is more, the town will be crowded and built up. Consequently, there will be more traffic, pollution, and the town will no longer be a nice place to live. To sum up, I think it is a very bad idea. I hope the local council will take my points into consideration. Yours faithfully, Eveli...

In todays society there`s a huge problem with waste and global warming.

Essay In todays society there`s a huge problem with waste and global warming. Many oh those problems come from us not thinking about what our actions do to the environment. Hazardous waste comes from factories that produce stuff that we really don`t need. We use private cars just to go to the supermarket but we could just take the buss or walk wich is much more environment friendly. The one that we do the most is leaving rubbish around that doesn`t turn into compost. We should save energy by just turning off the electic appliances when we don`t use them. When going to the store we should bring our own canvas bags or just reuse old plastic bags. Reducing the damage to the environment would help our plants and animals from dying out and not to make any acid rains

I Walk the Line" jõudis kantri edetabeli tippu. Nii "I Walk the Line", "Ballad of a Teenage Queen" kui ka "Guess Things Happen That Way" suutsid tungida ka popmuusika edetabelitesse. 1957. aastal sai temast esimene laulja Suni stuudios, kes lindistas LP. Aasta hiljem lahkus ta Sunist ning sõlmis lepingu Columbia Recordsiga ning saavutas oma singlitega "Don't Take Your Guns to Town" (1959) ja "Ring of Fire" (1963) suure menu.

How can we reduce air pollution level in cities?

How can we reduce air pollution level in cities? The air pollution levels are extremely high in cities, but how can people change this situation? Cars and big factories emit lots of deleterious gases into the air, for example carbonic acid gas, cities are not healthy places to live anymore. Firstly, we should using the public transport. Everybody can walk and bicycle instead of driving cars. Vehicles emit a lot of harmful gases into the air. Every family member does not need his or her own car. One car for the whole family would minimise the number of cars in cities and air pollution levels will come down. Secondly, people have to recycle. It would help reduce factories work. It will emit less harmful gases into the air. Finally, we should plant more trees in cities and also create more national parks. They produce oxygen.

The giant's causeway

Although there are an abundance of tall tales, and myths describing colourful ways the Giant's Causeway came into being, the actual, natural history is a bit less exciting. The actual history is that the rock formations were created by a lava flow some 65 million years ago by molten basalt rising through a chalk bed, and then cooling and cracking to form the tall columns that make up the causeway. Legend: Legend has it that the Finn McCool built the causeway to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish counterpart Benandonner. One version of the legend tells that Fionn fell asleep before he got to Scotland. To protect Fionn, his wife Oonagh laid a blanket over him so he could pretend that he was actually their baby son. In a variation, Fionn fled after seeing Benandonner's great bulk, and asked his wife to disguise him as the baby.

Should children be encouraged to do sports?

exercising, especially because of the amout of technology no child will rather go out and play football than sitting at home and watching TV or playing video games. Should we encourage children to do sports? Firstly, doing sports is important for our health and if children do not do sports it may cause health conditions when they get older for example overweight. Choosing an exercise should be appropriated to the child's age and development. A good thing to do is to take the child for a walk, swimming pool or even to play a video game Wii. Secondly, sports makes children more active and playful, which develops their minds. Sports influence people mental health and it helps to decrease stress, anxiety and depression when you get older. All in all, I think it is important to encourage children to do sports but parents must not force their children into sports because it may make them feel negative about it.

How can we make our cities more environmentally friendly?

How can we make our cities more environmentally friendly? If I walk along the city streets, I feel a terrible smell. That comes from cars. It makes me feel very ill. Then I just have to step on trash, because people can't wait and look for a bin. That's why our streets are so dirty. Everywhere I go, there are always some workmen building big houses. If we improved public transport or made electric cars, our streets wouldn't be so polluted. In Tallinn, for example, the air there is so polluted, that you can hardly breathe there.

Informal letter to a friend describing a house for rent

Dear ..............., How are you? I hope you are well. I'm writing to let you know that I think I've found the perfect house for you. It's in a really nice location. Maardu, Harjumaa is a beautiful tidy town. It features a beautiful downtown, where you can easily walk around, shop, eat and dine. But the best thing about it is that the town is less than a twenty kilometres from the capital and the rent for the house is only £169 a week. The house is really adorable outside. It's made of light grey bricks and has a restored wood frame windows. Also, it's got small balcony and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Plus, modern security system. Inside, the house is nice and comfortable. It has two floors

A day out to remember

she called me, to ask, whether i want to go out with her. I agree and started to dress. When I stepped out from the house, I looked around and see that day was wonderful. When I was walking by the old lady, she was smiling to me, I smiled to her too. And then she said something strange, she said < Be careful today, girl. > At first I didn't notice it, but when I walked more I started to think about this. I started to walk across the road and then everybody around started to scream, I stopped, and then realized, if I had been stepping one step more, the car would have ran me over and then may be I would be dead. I really don't know, was it happened, because this lady said something, or may be it was coincidence. But when I met with my friend and told her this story she was really shocked.

to-head rap contest. Things improve when he meets Alex (Brittany Murphy) - an aspiring model headed for New York - and a fast-talking pal Wink (Eugene Byrd) promises to set up the demo. Then new setbacks: Alex isn't faithful, mom rejects him, rifts surface with his friends, and he's mugged by rivals. Everything hinges on the next rap showdown at the club. Can B-Rabbit pull truth out of his cap? I liked the film because it's action was like talking about me. I walk the same tracks what the main character did. Also, if I watch this film, then I look back to my life and look for the meaning of life. I liked the soundtrack too, because it includes some of my favourite songs like "Lose Yourself". This is a film that completely changed my view of the world. I would recommend this film to anybody, who is intrested in gangsta life.

Is it better to live in a city or is the countryside?

You can go to the cinema, to a theatre, shopping, clubbing, to a gym etc. You will never run out of activities to do. While that may be true, there are some things that you can only do in the countryside for example going fishing, camping or playing outside with your pets. A calm rural lifestyle is for people who enjoy peace and quiet. In addition to that there is fresh air, which is good for your health. You are also more likely to be more active and walk in the nature. Having said that, in the city there are hospitals and drugstores nearby, so if you get sick or injured, you will have drugs and helpful doctors right around the corner. From my point of view, living in a city is easier and better because I can have pretty much everything I want, at any time day or night. Public transportation saves the need for a car. All my friends are nearby and I can stay socially active.

Most needed professions in estonia in 21st century

All people in our society have a role. All adults should have jobs. That means that they need to choose a profession. Some professions are more needed in our society than others. Nowadays in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, connected with computers and things like that, bust also some older professions... The most needed profession is builders. The cities grow and new buildings are being razed. When you walk in the streets then you can see everywhere that some buildings are being repaired, or some older ones are being demolished to make space for newer and bigger buildings. Some old houses are being restored like they used to be in the past. In the Centrum new and modish glass buildings are being constructed. That gives the builders and all the people connected with construction and building jobs. And we need more of those people in our society.

Advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city

buy clothes whenever they want. Secondly, in a city may happen that some very noisy people move next to you. They could disturb you and you may have to call to the police very often. It is very usual that people who live in a city can not get enough sleep, because their neighbors listens too loud music. Thirdly, in a city there is more stealing than in a country. People have to buy different kind of locks to protect their property. Also then you walk along the street you have to be very open-eyed, because of the pickpockets. They can steel your wallet and you do not notice anything. Living in a big city is fun, but sometimes it brings along some difficultys. Deal your problems and you will begin to enjoy living in a city as much as living in a country.

and increase your motivation to sit down and learn. Secondly, I recommend taking breaks periodically. This would mean that your concentration is better and you find yourself retaining more information than if you try to revise with an over- tired mind that does not remember what it just read. Lastly, it is also important to stay calm and positive. Spend time doing something relaxing each day, such as listening to your favorite music, going for a walk or swim. You also need to make sure you eat and sleep well and get some exercise. In this way, you will feel relaxed and connected to others and the world as you keep working through the revision. Exams can seem daunting but it is really important to keep in mind that it will not last forever. I believe that by using these simple revising techniques, you will find yourself calm, focused and fully prepared for the exam.

Complain letter

I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with the service of your company. My complaints concern holidays on Tenerife. To start with, your travel agent assured me that I would stay in a luxurious hotel situated not far from the Golden Beach. I was also promised a spacious room with a terrace and windows overlooking the ocean. However, the hotel turned out to be small and old and it was situated close to a very busy street, furthermore, very far from the ocean. It took 40 minutes to walk to the beach. Moreover, there was a balcony instead of a terrace in my room. In addition, the staff of the hotel neglected their duties. I had to ask three times for new bed linen and when I asked for a wake-up call at 6 o'clock, I was woken up at 9 o'clock. When I complained about it, a receptionist treated me very rudely. Secondly, the choice of food served at the hotel restaurant was very limited. There were hardly any traditional Spanish dishes, although your travel agent said that

Chocolate addiction

How can you break it To stop your chocolate addiction you have to convince yourself to eat less. Learn to differentiate between need and want. We need certain amounts of different foods but often we want more. Before you buy, think: 'Do I need it?' This may be hard but you can do it. Help yourself by not having chocolate at home. Break the habit of having snacks during the day. If you think boredom is a reason why you eat so much, do something healthier instead, such as going for a walk or simply having a glass of water. Thank you for your attention! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUYbN6OaXAw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgujFLmszOs

Healthy Life

Healthy Life I do not workout. I just do not have time for that and I do not have a mind to do workout sometimes. My way to workout is to play basketball, 90 minutes PE classes once a week and walk with my dog. In summers, I usually watch soccer on television and sometimes play basketball. My mother, father and sister are completely opposites of me. My sister practices swimming and soccer three times a week, including she rides with a bike. My mother bought herself a fitness machine; she uses it twice a week. My father also goes to fitness centre, rides with a bike and runs three times a week. In our family there is only me, who workout with my brain instead to do physical exercises
