His short stories are known for their unexpected endings, and his children's books for their unsentimental, often very dark humour. About the book My book tells about a little boy whos parents died at a car axedent and he went to live at hes grandmothers. The grandmother was the boys only living relative, they got along very well and the boy was very happy. The grandmoher was Norwegian and Norwegians knew everything about witches. She was a wonderful story - teller but the storys she telled about witches were all true. She told her grandson how to spot them from a crowd and told him what ugly and bad creatures they are. One day the boy met a witch, and got out alive luckily. The boy and hes granmother went to live to England

Singing revolution

Singing Revolution To the end of 80s, the Soviet Union folks didn't want to live under socialistic- communistic order anymore. The Soviet Union was protected with the Iron Curtain, which symbol was the Berlin wall. At the same time, not only Estonia, but also other countries that were under the authority of the Soviet Union, increased the independence efforts. People didn't want to live like this anymore, it was based on fear and commands. The start of the Estonian public announcement of the reindependence is probably the Singing Revolution. To begin with, the Singing Revolution was a non-violent wish expressing and embarked on the Soviet Union to fall apart. The Singing Revolution is a commonly used name for events between 1987 and 1990 that led to the restoration of the independence of Estonia and also Latvia and Lithuania.

The Northern Territory and Canberra are also independent but they are not states. Canberra is the capital of Australia and it is situated between Sydney and Melbourne because both of these cities wanted to be the capital. The population is about 19 million people and growing. New South Wales is the most populated state and Victoria is the most densely populated state. The national language is English. It is English because British settlers came to live in Australia in the past and they brought convicts with them who were also British. Symbols. The Australian Flag came into being after the federation of the Australian States into the Commonwealth of Australian on the first January, 1901. Smilers kui bänd sai alguse 1990.aastate alguses Soomes. Eesti laulja, laulukirjutaja ning kitarrist Hendrik Sal-Saller oli kümnendi alguseks Soome emigreerunud, kuid polnud loobunud muusikategemisest. Among this group of poor people, many have problems obtaining adequate, nutritious food for themselves and their families. As a result, 820 million people in the developing world are undernourished. See pakkus kõigile palju nalja. Kuna novembris ilmus bändi CD-plaat - ,,Noorkuu Live 2008", siis ei jätnud ka bändiliikmed seda tutvustamata. Endale peab ju ikkagi reklaami tegema! ,,Noorkuu Live 2008" tegemist on salvestisega, millest võtsid osa mitmed armastatud eesti lauljad (nende seas Maarja-Liis Ilus, Hendrik Sal-Saller ja Tõnis Mägi). It is far from the rescue when you need it and in places where there are no neighbors, who can stand guard over for you, when you are not at home, is often may happen the theft and devastation. Finally, I think that nowadays there are very few people who move from city to live in the country, but many of those who never switch their country-home to flat. However, I would prefer to live in the countryside rather than city. I like my small private house in the near city area , I believe that this would be the most convenient way to enjoy the city and my nice backyard at same time, separated by the high hedge.

Jane Eyre

live happily together, have children and in the end Mr.Rochester regains his sight. In my opinion the reason why Jane, and everyone else in the book, were so attracted to Mr.Rochester was because of his mysterious and deep appearance. Jane must have felt really special that she cought his eye out of all the women. That despite all the bitterness she was the only chosen one that could mend his broken heart and offer him happiness. She'd help him change his old ways and together they would live happy ever after. The same phenomenon often repeats itself in other books and even in life. It might even be a motherly instinct for women to try to rescue a troubled handsome male. Whatever the reason might be the deep and handsome characters attract women not only in books but also in the real world.

Plaat tuli välja aastal 2004 ja sai sama aasta jooksul plaatinaplaadiks. Albumilt lasti välja kolm singlit: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)", "Helena" ja "The Ghost of You". Pelissieri lahkumise põhjuseks olid tülid bändiliikme Ray Toroga ning äpardused live esinemiste ajal. 2005. aasta algul osales bänd "Taste Of Chaos" tuuril ja oli Green Day soojendusesinejaks "American Idiot" tuuril. Tolerance and diversity

Tolerance is a very important issue for the people all over the world. Sadly the lack of it has influenced us more than the existence. On the other hand people have always liked the diversity of this world. For example, we can't imagine life without our Chinese food, Italian pasta and especially McDonalds , can we? We have to admit that it would be very unpleasant without simple things like these so is it so hard for us to cope with different types of people? We live our lives differently and see the world in different ways, everyone use words that they feel like using , but in the end we are all trying to answer the same question. There is no such thing as the correctness of one people with his religion because each and every one of us thinks that the one he believes is the only real. You do not have to like the same food, dress the same way or listen to the same music as your friends do. But always be opened to get to know about these differences

Magazine article on what your life will be like in ten years

takes time. I like the life full of adventures and excitement, but I also like to have a nice family around me. Married or not, only thing what really matters, is love. And if everything is the way it's supposed to be, then I don't care about a paper, where's the signatures, for just saying that I have to be with somebody. When I've attained all that, then I have all the time to travel around the world, with the people I love the most. And that would be the centre of my life. The real thing to live for. Right now I don't want to waste my energy to thing about the bad and difficult things, I want to live for my dreams, to make them come true. And you know what..? I will. (And I know, I have a friend, who will help me through this fucking life.)

London - The City and Beyond

It is 110 metres high. If you climb to the top of it, you'll see a wonderful view of London. The oldest building in the City is the historic White Tower, which was built by William the Conqueror in 1078. The whole group of buildings and towers is called the Tower of London. The Tower has a long, interesting history. It was a fortress, a royal palace and a prison. Many important prisoners have been executed there. Some say, that the ghosts of Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Gray and others now live there. Nobody knows when the ravens came to the Tower of London, but an old legend says that if the ravens leave, the kingdom will fall. Today eight ravens live there, and each one has a name. No one wants the ravens to leave, so some feathers are taken away from their wings so they can't fly. At night they sleep in their cages and during day they are free to move around. Tower Bridge is a symbol of London and is one of the several bridges that cross the Thames

Happiness

They will not even notice when something great is happening in their life. I am saying that it is possible for every one of us to find happiness in this world. The main thing is to put things into perspective, try to find some positive out of the negative because without bad things there would not be good ones either. For example, when I cannot decide in some circumstances whether to do something or not, then the main thought which occurs to my mind is "We only live once, use every opportunity, do not regret and live your life to the fullest!" The closest people of mine say that I am happy in general. I do not stand people who are in depression for something as tiny as a fly. I get happy for even the slightest bit of things such as getting a good grade or having a nice evening with my friends and just when I see someone else happy and smiling makes me smile too. I am a total opposite to those who stress about nothing. That is why usually I am the one who

Imagination will make us infinite

Imagination will make us infinite Can you imagine life without imagination? Now i know that sounds like a silly question, but really think about it. What if we didn’t have the ability to mentally time travel and we were froced to live and think in the present moment at all times? To be perfectly honest, life couldn’t exist this way. You see imagination at its core is the beginning of all creation. Everything that we see, everything that we touch, all came from someones thought. Their imagination running wild. Albert Einstein said that “Imagination is more important than knowledge, because with knowledge we are limited to everything we know and understand, while with imagination , it makes us infinite.

Sandrigham house

Almost annually several were entered in international contests; pigeons from the Royal lofts also saw active service with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War. Despite being able to spend less time at Sandringham after his accession in 1901, King Edward VII's interest in the estate never waned, and he continued to make improvements all his life. Following his death in 1910, Sandringham was left to Queen Alexandra, who continued to live in the 'Big House' in her widowhood until her death in 1925. The new King George V and Queen Mary continued to live in the much smaller York Cottage whenever they visited the estate. The First World War sowed death and destruction even in sleepy Sandringham. On 19 January 1915 Zeppelin L45 crossed the North Sea on the first raid of the war, and several bombs landed on and around the Royal estate. One of the craters filled with water; King

Essee In war, there are no unwounded soldiers

It can be a mother, a father, a wife, a husband or in the saddest case a child who now have to grow up with one parent. We can never know how some soldiers died, but with every death there will be questions like: "How did he die? Was it quick? Did he suffer? Was he alone? What were he`s last words?" We can never know what were he`s last thoughts or what he was feeling before death but we always wish that he died peacefully. Finally the wounded ones, who have to live with their injuries for the rest of their lives. In war there are so many people who have had many serious injuries and some of them have even lost one or even all the limbs. They have to live with these injury`s for the rest of their lives. Some soldiers have lost even their eyesight or have become paralyzed, because of the serious injuries they have had. In conclusion, every person who has been in the war has had some injuries, most of them are physical and some are mental

Stepihunt, inglise keelne kirjeldus

BOOK CONTENT So lately I have read a book named „Stepihunt”, author is Hermann Hesse. This book was quite lovely piece on art. Authors one side of her is in that book, as I have heard and read about it. When he wrote this book he had gun on his table every time. Same kind of thing is in this book, he thinked all the time razor he had. Place where all events took place was in German, stormy 1920. Book talkes about one man life who have two sides of himselfs. One side is human (that likes to live and enjoy life) and other side is wolf (side that you do not wanna be, makes you think about how sad life is, suicide thoughts included). Although book talks a lot about suicide and depressed life at first, but the more you read, the more things spins out. Like he finds herself in one pub, as he drink there he finds good-looking women and that women is like her mirror of life. That women gets all main character problems and it seems that they need each other to survive in this horribel world

Referaat teemal "80-90 aastate rockmuusika"

Album "Construction Time Again" oli muusikalt tumedam ja laulusõnadelt sügavamõttelisem. See stiil juurdus1986 albumil "Black Celebration". Kuigi "Depeche Mode" oli jäänud "Duran Duran"'i ja "U2" varju, tundus see muutuvat isegi eeliseks. Tekkima hakkas suur fänkond, kes läheks nendega isegi läbi tule ja vee. Albumiga "Music for the Masses" saabus ka läbilöök USA's. Maailmaturnee kulmineerus kontserdiga 80 000 inimesele Pasadena Rose Bowlil. Kontserdist andi välja ka live album "101" ja samanimeline dokumentaalfilm. Aastal 1990 anti välja album "Violator", mis on seni bändi enim müüdud plaat. Singlist "Personal Jesus" sai nende esimene kuldsingel USA's ja "Enjoy the Silenceist" nende edukaim singel.

My Kinda Town - Task to practise adjectives in English Langu

Wherever parents have gaps, they send their children to fulfill these at other scientists' places. There are several schools though where the oldest or the most trusted inhabitants teach the younger generation with an approach of critical thinking, preparing them for the university life. It is the place where all the people with the most potential live. They have their lives outside this town, they are extremely influential materially or with the capacity of their minds in the rest of the world, but since they do not like the madness and capitalist attitudes in other countries, they chose my kinda town for living because there they will still have the capacity to write or create

Books are not absolutely dead things

So, a question comes to my mind if books are material things, they can not speak, they can not do anything to you, they just lay on the table, then how they can influence your life sometimes so much? They are all written by humans. But the interesting thing actually is, that in his lifetime, human being is the smartest on this planet and can make big things, but this is all transient. Humans die. But if human creates something, for example, a book, then it may live centuries. Books are like the continuation of the book writers life. Human's mind can forget, but if the book is in the bookshelf and your name is on the cover, then it will not disappear anywhere. You may "live" thousands of years. The thing what changes everything, is the content of the book. There may be a lot of rubbish between the covers, but also intriguing stories. The book is a good way of expressing your thoughts and feelings. And the positive side is, that you do not have to speak

Weather forecast

during the bulletin. The time allocated for each broadcast can also alter. This is because the weather report is screened after the news, which can vary in length. The weather forecaster doesn't always know how much time is avail-able, which means that he/she has to be thoroughly prepared so that the material can be adapted to the time available. Another related complication is that the weather forecast has to be a live broadcast; it cannot be pre-recorded. Live shows are very nerve-racking for the presenter because almost anything can go wrong. Perhaps the most worrying aspect for every weather forecaster is getting the following day's predictions wrong. Unfortunately for them this is not 34 an unusual occurrence; the weather is not always possible to predict accurately. The weather is a national obsession in Britain, perhaps because it is so changeable. It's the national talking point, and most people watch at least one daily bulletin

What is needed for good society

regular exercise, rejuvenating leisure, fulfilling relationships, family, and a close-knit community. None of these things are not essential, but life without these is not that fun. A good society would enable for most people to have most of these luxuries and would allow everyone to have just like the least of these items (even like 1-3 would be enough). Most of the time desirable things are not indispensable, but most of the people who will read my masterpiece could not live without these things. E.F. Schumacher once said: “I’m not at all contemptuous of comforts, but they have their place and it is not first.” and I could not agree more with that saying. If only more people would have this kind of approach to their lifestyle, it would be easier to for us all to live. Good society is not a paradise, but it is enough for us to get awesome life. And because of the fact that

George Orwell "Animal Farm" essay - "Human nature exposed in the novel"

Human nature exposed in G.Orwell's ,,Animal Farm" Humans are the most deceitful animals in the World. Even if we do not want to confess it to ourselves, we have to accept the fact that humans constantly change their ways of thinking and acting to make the World a better place to live in for themselves. Our lives are fulfilled with lies we enter to our or someone else's mind. A lot of it is connected to people's constant need of power and control. "Animal Farm" is a book that reverberates that kind of human nature through politics, dictatorship and power, but in nowadays' World this kind of behaviour occurs also in our everyday life, not only politics. First of all humans are in a constant need of power. The essence of the power does not

Australia

From May to October it is often sunny and dry for weeks, and it is a popular place for winter holidays in the sun. In the hot, flat centre of Australia, there is an area called the `outback'. It covers more than two-thirds of Australia, but its population is less than 100,000. In some places, it doesn't rain for years. There are hills and big dry salt lakes, and it is very difficult to grow anything there. Many people live on sheep or cattle stations, a few of which are as large as the country of England. The nearest neighbour can be a hundred kilometres away and the nearest city 1,500 kilometres away. Australia has a population of about 23 million people, most of whom live in the south and east of the country, where the summers are warm and the winters not too cold. The highest mountain in Australia is Mount Kosciuszko, at 2,228 metres. Australia's longest river, the Murray-Darling, is 2,700 kilometres long

In 1820, King George IV commissioned John Nash to build a State Palace, much of the structure and decoration of which is seen today. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live in the Palace, from 1837, and it has been the London home of the Royal Family ever since. They arrived there about 12,000 years before from southern Asia. They had very rich forms of art, painting, song, poetry and mythology. The lives of aborigines stayed almost the same for thousands of years until the Europeans came to live in Australia in 1778. In 1770 J. Cook landed in eastern Australia and declared that it belonged to Britain. In 1778, the British government began sending the first prisoners to Australia. Overtime many people arrived from Britain and Europe. Life was difficult. There was very little water and the climate was very hard. The Europeans suffered a lot in Australia but the Aborigines suffered a lot more. Europeans stole their land and killed thousand of Aborigines

wet season, suggesting that social rather than ecological factors are responsible for herding. There is no evidence of territoriality, and males rarely display aggression, even during the breeding season. Giant Eland are alert and wary, making them difficult to approach and observe. They move quickly, running at over 70 km/h (42 mph), and despite their size are exceptional jumpers, easily clearing heights of 1.5 m (5 ft). Giant Eland live in open forest and savannah where they eat grass, leaves, and branches. Their primary predators are the Lion and Spotted Hyena. Broad-leafed savanna and glades in two isolated pockets in central and western Africa. It is estimated that only 2500 Western giant elands remain in the wild today. Populations have declined due to excessive hunting, habitat destruction for agricultural expansion, and disease. The last surviving population is said to be protected in the Niokolo-Koba National Park.
