Only in the darkness you are available see the stars. If you end up with boring, miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some gut on television telling you how to do your shit, then you DESERVE it. - Frank Zappa *It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. - Marilyn Monroe *I love the feeling when you smile at me, or even just look at me, because I know that I've crossed your mind. Even just for a second - Anonymous You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with. Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I feel, of what I've said, of who I am, but most of

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17 PREFACE I'd never given much thought to how I would die -- though I'd had reason enough in the last few months -- but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. I stared without breathing across the long room, into the dark eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at me. Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something. I knew that if I'd never gone to Forks, I wouldn't be facing death now

one day. No matter his expression, he was a knockout. "How about tomorrow after work?" I offered as a substitute. "If I make it through the day, that'll be worth celebrating." "Deal. I'm breaking in the new kitchen for dinner." "Uh..." Cooking was one of Cary's joys, but it wasn't one of his talents. "Great." Blowing a wayward strand of hair off his face, he grinned at me. "We've got a kitchen most restaurants would kill for. There's no way to screw up a meal in there." Dubious, I headed out with a wave, choosing to avoid a conversation about cooking. Taking the elevator down to the first floor, I smiled at the doorman when he let me out to the street with a flourish. The moment I stepped outside, the smells and sounds of Manhattan embraced me and invited me to explore. I was not merely across the country from my former home in San Diego, but seemingly worlds away. Two major metropolises-one endlessly temperate and sensually lazy, the

It is intertwined with curiosity. An ideal education affords numerous and varied opportunities for students to touch, see, smell, listen, hear; to spark their curiosity. When I was a child the things that pleased me were largely other than the plants which have earned me a living as an adult. For example, I collected postage stamps, played basketball, was fond of listening to music, played all manner of games, but dealt only in a neutral, uninspired fashion with plants. The one thing that was constant and of supreme importance was my love of reading. I don't recall why, but by an early age, say age 9, I was a phenomenal reader of books, a habit that persisted all the way until college. Reading expands one's mind immensely. It fires the imagination, demonstrates grammar, teaches vocabulary, informs, challenges, helps one relax. In some cases it forces the mind to concentrate, as to understand. It can help build a moral or ethical framework, and help oneself

THE CAPITALIST NIGER

Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation, diseases and non-provision of essential services than when we got our independence. There are all kinds of wars in Africa than the rest of world put together. The majority of so-called Africans leaders want to stay in power until the day their bodies are put in the grave. Through buffoonery, utter mismanagement and downright stealing of the wealth of the masses, these leaders have so impoverished Africa that we are now nothing but a beggar continent. We beg for

The basic ingredients, when fresh, are so full of flavour that British haven't had to invent sauces to disguise their natural taste. What can compare with fresh pees or new potatoes just boiled and served with butter? Why drown spring lamb in wine or cream and spices, when with just one or two herbs it is absolutely delicious? If you ask foreigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say "Fish and chips" then stop. It is disappointing, but true that, there is no tradition in England of eating in restaurants, because the food doesn't lend itself to such preparation. English cooking is found at home. So it is difficult to a good English restaurant with a reasonable prices. In most cities in Britain you'll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian restaurants. In London you'll also find Indonesian, Mexican, Greek... Cynics will say that this is because English have no "cuisine" themselves, but this is not quite the true. Vocabulary:

At one point it occured to me that when I want to be successful in some field, then I really have to educate myself in that filed. When my friends have characterised me then they have mainly mentioned that I am an active person, who has been successful in different fields. I still do not think I am succesful because it is a really complicated definition, but I know that I have succeeded in doing several things. For me the key is my so called success has been that when dealing with a particular thing I have tried to delve into the subject as deep as possible. Firstly, when we are talking about success and asking the question who is a succesful person, we have to understand that success means various things for different persons. The main question is what makes a human being happy? In my opinion, as a person claims that he is happy, then we can firmly say that this person is successful in life because he feels content with his life. Contentedness

Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like. Ofcourse I have seen it, it's all around me, but only seeing and seeing plus thinking through what you see are two really different things. An example: have you ever been to a funeral of a collateral relative as a child? Do you remember what you felt? I remember I felt almost nothing and I never cried

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters. "My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?" Mr. Bennet replied that he had not. "But it is," returned she; "for Mrs. Long has just been here, and she told me all about it." Mr. Bennet made no answer.

Eesmärk, mille nimel tasub võidelda ja kindel püüdlemine selle poole on üks elamisväärse elu saladusi. Siin maailmas pole oluline see, kes see kus me oleme vaid see, kus suunas me edasi liigume. When I close my eyes , the first thing I see is you.

every teenage girl edventually will come to that point of her little teenage life where they just get sick of boys.
