departments. The locals should be hired as sales representatives and agents as they know the culture, methods to approach the possible customers and the needs of the market of the new country. Their tasks would be the direct selling (i.e. door-to-door selling, attending fairs and trade shows) and also meeting with the potential retailers and vendors, who could start selling Daffodils products. The sales manager should be an expatriate, who has experience in the sales field and knows the products and the company. The expatriates could be used to train the locals to become the sales representatives and agents. In that case there would not be a need to raise the training costs. As countries have different legal systems the persons hired to the legal department have to be familiar with the local laws for sales and trading and also with the local labour law. The best way

Robert Burns

Burns Night A Burns Supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns. The suppers are normally held on or near the poet's birthday, January 25, sometimes known as Burns Night, although they may in principle be held at any time of the year. Burns suppers are most common in Scotland (and also in Russia, where nationally televised Burns nights are held in the Kremlin). Wherever there are Burns clubs, expatriate Scots, or indeed lovers of Burns' poetry the celebrations take place. The first suppers were held in Ayrshire at the end of the 18th century by his friends on the anniversary of his death, July 21, In Memoriam and, although the date has changed to the 25th of January since then, they have been a regular occurrence ever since. The traditional Burns supper menu consists of cockaleekie soup (or Scotch

Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway as a short-story writer. Ernest Miller Hemingway is born in United States in 1899. He was novelist, short-story writer and journalist. He was the part of 1920s expatriate community in Paris and one of the veterans of World War I later known as ,,the Lost Generation". The Hemingway's style could be characterised like this: a lot of dialogues, hidden morals and messanges in stories and interesting titles. I am going to write about short-stories written by Ernest Hemingway. It is based on the book ,,The cat in the rain" which includes stories ,,A canary for one", ,,Indian camp", ,,Cat in the rain" and ,,Hills like white elephants"

had no direct experience of World War I and because he is Jewish. He holds on to the romantic prewar ideals of love and fair play, yet, against the backdrop of the devastating legacy of World War I, these values seem tragically absurd. As a Jew and a nonveteran, Cohn is a convenient target for the cruel and petty antagonism of Jake and his friends. Read an in-depth analysis of Robert Cohn. Bill Gorton - Like Jake, a heavy-drinking war veteran, though not an expatriate. Bill uses humor to deal with the emotional and psychological fallout of World War I. He and Jake, as American veterans, share a strong bond, and their friendship is one of the few genuine emotional connections in the novel. However, Bill is not immune to the petty cruelty that characterizes Jake and Jake's circle of friends. Mike Campbell - A constantly drunk, bankrupt Scottish war veteran. the plantations after the slaves were freed, and agriculture was diversified to lessen dependence on sugar exports. A new constitution in 1884 marked the initial revival of local autonomy for Jamaica. Despite labor and other reforms, black riots recurred, notably those of 1938, which were caused mainly by unemployment and resentment against British racial policies. Jamaican blacks had been considerably influenced by the theories of black nationalism promulgated by the American expatriate Marcus Garvey. A royal commission investigating the 1938 riots recommended an increase of economic development funds and a faster restoration of representative government for Jamaica. In 1944 universal adult suffrage was introduced, and a new constitution provided for a popularly elected house of representatives. Economy Jamaica is a mixed, free-market economy with state enterprises as well as private sector businesses. Major sectors of the Jamaican economy include agriculture, mining,

Gretchen Albrecht, Pat Hanly, and Ralph Hotere have their works displayed in art galleries around the country. Visual art is another increasing art form in New Zealand. Most visual artists here are involved with matters concerning political causes or movements. Works of Maori women such as Robyn Kahukiwa, Kura Te Waru Rewiri, and Shona Rapira Davies illustrate a concern for the land, whanau (family), antiracism and antisexism, and reflect the revival of Maori pride and values. The greatest expatriate artist of New Zealand was Len Lye (1901-80) who won an international reputation as a pioneer of direct film techniques (scratching images directly on to celluloid) and kinetic sculptor. His works can be viewed at the Govett-Brewster Gallery in New Plymouth, which specializes in the works of New Zealand sculptors. Prose and Poetry Novelist Janet Frame realized her love for writing ever since she was a mere child growing up in a poor South Island family

After the United States entered the First World War, he joined a volunteer ambulance unit in the Italian army. Serving at the front, he was wounded, was decorated by the Italian Government, and spent considerable time in hospitals. After his return to the United States, he became a reporter for Canadian and American newspapers and was soon sent back to Europe to cover such events as the Greek Revolution. During the twenties, Hemingway became a member of the group of expatriate Americans in Paris, which he described in his first important work, The Sun Also Rises (1926). Equally successful was A Farewell to Arms (1929), the study of an American ambulance officer's disillusionment in the war and his role as a deserter. Hemingway used his experiences as a reporter during the civil war in Spain as the background for his most ambitious novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940). Among his later works, the most outstanding is the short novel,

Their contemporary Shrangri-La- esque utopian visions were set in contrast to the perceived ‘toxicity’ of their generating societies, establishing these lifestyle travellers as representative of the most alienated of all tourist types (Maoz & Bekerman, 2010). One manifestation in which tourists inhabit such a revised notion of home is Auroville in southern India, where Sharpley and Sundaram (2005) describe the communal lives of a number of ‘permanent tourists’ who have settled in an expatriate community based on utopian ideals. The most determined of this study’s utopia-seekers, however, narrated firm self-concepts and sought an external environment to match their culturally hybridised conceptions of self. Jackie (English, 26) related that a place would need to be extraordinary for her to consider ‘emptying out her backpack once and for all.’ Thomas (English, 29), who since being interviewed has settled on a remote Cambodian beach bungalow resort he purchased, depicted

The groundwork for relations with expatriate Estonians was laid earlier in 1928, the first Congress was held and the Society established with the participation of eighty delegates.1 Estonia had ten permanent working theatres, three of which were semi- professional groups in smaller towns. Theatre audiences increased, clearly showing the popularity and their appreciation of the importance of the theatre. Western classics were staged with increasing frequency. Between 1934 and 1940 there were ten productions 1 Juhan Aavik
