To begin with, music is a big part of our lives. If children were not given the ability to cheer them up with music, the depression levels would definitely be higher, as well as less motivation in children. For an example, the average American child listens to 4 hours of music in a day. I personally listen to at least 5 hours of music a day and all that from the computer when I get home. Secondly, the artists would not have such big crowds at their shows and concerts. This way, the artists are getting more recognition and popularity. They are even getting more feedback, which songs people like more. Thirdly, downloading can lead to more purchases of CDs and such. Children especially, who have a favourite band or artist, want to support them or show other friends that they have a material piece from the band. More or less, they are supporting the artists by purchasing their merch. In contrast, though, the people who do listen and do not support them, will

The square in front of Tallinn's Town Hall functioned as a marketplace for centuries, dating back to times even before the Town Hall itself was built. Through the years this served as a place of celebrations as well as executions. Today the square remains a cultural focal point for the city. In summer, it's filled with outdoor cafés and is home to countless openair concerts, handicraft fairs and medieval markets. In winter, an annual Christmas Market enchants the crowds on the square, as does the town's Christmas tree (a tradition whose roots stretch back to 1441), which stays up for a month or more. Town Hall Square has also become the traditional centre of the Old Town Days festival, a modern version of a medieval carnival. Traditions from the Middle Ages are kept alive here, including parades,

Nowadays more and more people are moving from the countryside to the cities. Why? There are many advantages of living in a city. There are more opportunities to find a job and to promote one's career. There are usually better schools and universities are founded in cities, too. On the other hand are cities pretty noisy, therefore it can create a restless environment for concentrated studying. A big advantage of living in a city is the variety of entertainment concerts, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and cafes, nightclubs and so on. However, in the countryside people can enjoy the silence and relax without paying any money. Also, in the countryside the environment is much greener and cleaner as in the cities the air is more polluted, which can damage our health. Living in a city, people have much better accessibility for things in need, like food, medications etc., because important industries and shopping centres are usually close to the consumers.

The Silence And Awe Of Arvo Pärt Some time ago, when I was randomly browsing the internet, I found an article about Arvo Pärt attending a festival in New York. The article seemed interesting but I didn't exactly read it, because Arvo Pärt has always been a composer I respect and know of, but I haven't directly listened to his music or been to any of his concerts so it didn't strike my interest, but on the bottom of the same page was a review where a journalist described his music very vividly and colorfully. It was also very inspiring and so I started to search for more. The silence and awe of Arvo Pärt is an article written by Tom Huizenga. On Kumu's fifth floor, there are exhibitions of contemporary art from Estonia and abroad. It is Kumu's ambition to constantly participate in the Estonian and international art worlds, to which a contribution is made by the 250 seat auditorium, with its film programme, performances, concerts, seminars and conferences, the educational centre, with programmes and courses directed at various age groups, and the library, with the widest selection of art literature in Estonia. Kumu's role is to be both an educational and entertainment centre, a booster of art and artistic life, a place for reflection that carries a message of stability, a place that creates and provides experiences, and a creator and interpreter of meanings.
