Flats, they feel, provide the least amount of privacy. The people who live in flats are those who cannot afford to live anywhere else. The dislike of living in flats is very strong despite of that they are very comfortable. People said they felt cut off from the world all those floors up. The new highrise blocks quickly deteriorated. Private property and public property Home as a castle implies a clear demarcation between private property and public domain. Flats involve uncertainties. Uncetainties perhaps explain why the ,,communal" living expected of flatdwellers has been unsuccessful. Law and custom seem to support a clear separation between public and private. People who lives in public domain also have a lot of restrictions and dutyes. People who lives in the private property have no restriction for own property and it shows exactly where the private property begins. The importance of "home" British people have little deeprooted attachment to their house as

to those classes. There is uncertainty and risk involved in this buy. There is often post buy regret and rationalisation for the reason of that buy. To reduce the risk, the difference with competition needs to be delivered to the customer. The brand has to be portrayed unique and therefore has to be perceived more valuable (as it is more expensive). The communicators of brands must here be cautious of consumers’ perspectives to address all uncertainties in the right way. The author stresses that ‘the diffusion of an innovation is mostly reliant on the social acceptance of a collective social system and only partly on the change agent’s or communication manager’s initial awareness–creation campaigns.’ Conclusion Brands have an ever-changing challenge od keeping the popularity. The key here is to be pro- active: to try to change the consumer’s way of thinking and tastes, instead of trying to

understand and measure the degree to which their economic, environmental, and social performance contributes to competitive advantage.  Cost Leadership - Increased process efficiency is an example of a proven sustainability strategy for decreasing costs and improving profitability, and thereby gaining cost leadership.  Costs and Risks - Cost analysis can be greatly enhanced by a holistic approach to assessing risks and uncertainties. In some industry sectors, key risks and uncertainties have strong links to environmental and social concerns.  Product Differentiation - Sustainability initiatives and strategies also provide opportunities for product differentiation—a key component of competitive advantage. Many leading companies are repositioning their products as services as part of their attempt to reduce their environmental or social impacts. The

region due to the competition for land in other areas (Lapola et al.,2009). 4. Other sustainability concerns 4.1. Greenhouse gas (GHG) balance One of the advantages for adopting biofuels is the offsetting of carbon in the production process. Biofuels are carbon neutral when their combustion doesn't release any more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, than was sequestered by the plant through photosynthesis (Rajagopal, Zilberman, 2007). Nevertheless, there are many uncertainties around the biofuels' carbon neutrality. In the production process, biofuel require significant amounts of energy for tillage, fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation and for harvesting. Nitrogen oxide from fertilisers are known to be particularly potent greenhouse gases with 300 times more potential than CO 2 and it has a harmful effect on the stratospheric ozone (Schaerlmann, Laurence, 2008). Also, as in any other agricultural production, biofuels can cause erosion and eutrophication due to

Supply chain describes the flow of goods, services, and information from the initial sources of materials and services to the delivery of products to consumers, regardless of whether those activities occur in the same organization or in other organizations. Five step decision making process: 1. Identify the problem and uncertainties. 2. Obtain information. 3. Make predictions about the future. 4. Make decisions by choosing among alternatives. 5. Implement the decision, evaluate performance, and learn. Steps 1-4 are collectively referred to as planning. Planning comprises selecting organization goals, predicting results under various alternative ways of achieving those goals, deciding how to attain them

automobile growth; the 1985–2003 oil glut even fueled the sales of low economy vehicles in OECD countries. In 2008, the economic crisis seems to have some impact on the sales of such vehicles; still, the 2008 oil consumption shows a small increase. The BRIC countries might also kick in, as China briefly was the first automobile market in December 2009. The immediate outlook still hints upwards. In the long term, uncertainties linger; the OPEC believes that the OECD countries will push low consumption policies at some point in the future; when that happens, it will definitely curb oil sales, and both OPEC and EIA kept lowering their 2020 consumption estimates during the past 5 years. Oil products are more and more in competition with alternative sources, mainly coal and natural gas, both cheaper sources. US oil production and imports, 1920–2005.

From this point on, man the believer was now joined by man the knower. It was man's destiny to both know the world, and create that world. But, the Scientific Revolution also showed man to be merely a small part of a larger divine plan. Man no longer found himself at the center of the universe he was now simply a small part of a much greater whole. The French thinker Blaise Pascal, gave perhaps the greatest expression to the uncertainties generated by the Scientific Revolution when he wrote: ,, For after all, what is man in nature? A nothing in comparison with the infinite, an absolute in comparison with nothing, a central point between nothing and all. Infinitely far from understanding these extremes, the end of things and their beginning are hopelessly hidden from him in an impenetrable secret

Even if the Western travellers consider that Romanians have no cultural identity problems (in spite of Hoffman's claims for `muddle'), the tension that they notice between apologetic and defiant behaviour may still suggest that they have serious uncertainties about who they are. Third, readers would have to ponder on how compatible these cliche´ s are with what is known as `disciplines' (i.e. `what to be aware of') in intercultural communication.2 Such disciplines involve, for instance, avoiding preconceptions

Finally, there was no legal definition of the concept of "capital" for the purposes of regulating its movement in the sense of the Treaty. Judicial practice also reflected these uncertainties. For example, in the case of 203/80 Casatti (1981), the EU Court raised concerns about the liberalization of KFOR, as this could adversely affect the economic policies of the member state. In the Lambert (1988) judgment in case 306/86, the EU Court recognized the Luxembourg Law prohibiting the payment of cash in goods and services from other Member States that did not conflict with Community law and, accordingly, did not

The Scarlet Letter was meant to expose just how much of a sin hypocrisy is, and just how it causes so much pain and suffering. Herman Melville's concern with evil. The combination of scientifically strict treatment of facts of life with fantastic circumstances in Moby Dick. In the writings of Herman Melville, "...the intellectual and moral world appeared as consisting not merely in a duality of good and evil, truth and falsehood, but in endless and souldefying ambiguities." These uncertainties would bring about the whole suspense of the novels in themselves. They were also the very reason why the contemporaries of the time isolated his writings as precarious. In fact, Melville expands upon this idea with his method of presenting his characters as symbols of things much larger and more complex. In his writings, Melville portrays aspects of nature as evil or destructive. This use of representation and detail help to note Melville as one of the most respected authors of all time

Embar- rassment is a villain to be crushed. If you think you are having a stroke, you can- not afford to be worried about the possibility of overestimating your problem. The difference is that between a moment of embarrassment and possible death or lifelong paralysis. Even a resounding call for help is not your most effective tactic. Although it may reduce bystanders' doubts that a real emergency exists, it will not remove sev- eral other important uncertainties within each onlooker's mind: What kind of aid is required? Should I be the one to provide the aid, or should someone more qual- ified do it? Has someone else already gone to get professional help, or is it my re- sponsibility? While the bystanders stand gawking at you and grappling with these questions, time vital to your survival could he slipping away. Clearly, then, as a victim you must do more than alert bystanders to your need
