The Internet - a blessing or a curse ?
Nowadays people use the Internet everyday for several hours and for different reasons. There are many advantages and disadvantages of using the internet.
To start with, using the Internet is a good way to find information. It makes doing your schoolwork or work related things easier and saves a lot of your time. Secondly, you don't have to spend your money on buying a newspaper, you can read it online for free. Thirdly, sending an e-mail is much quicker than sending a letter . Also you don't have to know the persons exact home address to send an e-mail. Finally , you can download any music, movie or game you like for free.
However , there are some disadvantages. Firstly, there are a lot of viruses in the Internet which can end up crashing your computers hard drive . Secondly, many people, especially the young are obsessed by chat websites like facebook . They waste their free time chatting, rather than doing something useful. Finally, if you use your personal information such as your name, address, credit card and other details in the Internet, they can be stolen or used for something bad.
All in all, the Internet is full of information and entertainment but it still have its inconvenients such as addiction and security problems.

Means of communication

Introduction A few centuries ago people knew only a few kinds of communication. They could speak to each other, they could send their message from one place to another by smoke signals, they used mail. Later on, they also had some newspapers. The first expansion of media was when the radio and television were invented. The second and the biggest boom started in 1960s when the first communication satellite was launched into orbit. There are 4 main media: Newspapers, TV, Radio and the Internet. Today's people take this as an ordinary thing and we don't realise that we nearly can't live without it. Media are very important for us. They give us big amount of information, so big that we can't remember all that things. They help us to understand things and if you have lots of information you are able to make your own decisions. This is connected with education and media are very good teachers. First of all, advertisements on TV are called commercials and to get air time on Tv is very expencive and not every company can offord it. Secondly, TV commercials mingt be the easyest way to advertise products because for example in the radio You can not see the product, you can only hear what people are talking about it. On the other hand, nowadays the popularity of TV commercials is getting smaller because of the Internet. More and more people use Internet more than they watch TV. In conclusion, Allthough advertising on TV is the easyest way to advertise, it might me a bit too expencive for some companies and they shouls consider advertising on the Internet. Steve Krug-Dont Make Me Think 2014

—DOROTHYGALE(JUDYGARLAND)INTHEWIZARDOFOZ(1939) I wrote the first edition ofDon’t Make Me Thinkback in 2000. By 2002, I began to get a few emails a year from readers asking (very politely) if I’d thought about updating it. Not complaining; just trying to be helpful. “A lot of the examples are out of date” was the usual comment. My standard response was to point out that since I wrote it right around the time the Internet bubble burst, many of the sites I used as examples had already disappeared by the time it was published. But I didn’t think that made the examples any less clear. Finally, in 2006 I had a strong personal incentive to update it. 1But as I reread it to see what I should change, I just kept thinking “This is all still true.” I really couldn’t find much of anything that I thought should be changed.

Computers provide a big variety of information which is available for us to search. And all the information is gathered in Internet. Internet is everyone's door to the world and to the vast knowledge of everything. Computers have significant advantages over people in a few select areas.
