Top Gear

Putting that aside, according to Hammond the heating system of the Land Rover wasn't as good as he had hoped for as well, describing it as ,,quite chilly". My motorhome was of course doing fine. Apart from some wobbling everything was just aces. Just to be sure I wasn't a threat on the road I had James pull behind me to take a quick look. He wasn't of much help since he only laughed and nor was Richard up front for that matter. Finally I had to admit that I cocked up, but it was my time to laugh now as Richard's motorhome was falling apart. After screaming for twenty minutes straigh up we finally stopped to rebuild Hammonds shed. Over seven hours on the road and we finally got somewhere close to the campsite. Between getting to the campsite and having driven seven hours, my car had a bad case of diarrhea. Getting to the campsite an hour later than the lunatic and the retard, Hammond was still putting up

She tells Edward about her realization, rejecting his former theory that the Volturi are at the heart of the trouble. Edward considers her new impressions, and agrees that it's a possibility. Bella notices that Alice looks frustrated and Edward explains that she is uncomfortable being "blinded" by the wolves' involvement. The pack finally enters the clearing, arriving in wolf form. Tourism - good or bad

It may seem that tourism bring only benefits, but further consideration shows that it also has disadvantages. To start with, tourism offers many benefits. Tourists spend money on local goods and services ,so the area can get much money to develop the other essential public services, for example education and health. Also tourism services such as roads, bars, hotels, restaurants and other leisure facilities are built. Thanks to it, local people can get more jobs. Finally, tourism allows both the tourist and the local community a chance to experience other cultures. However, tourism can pose a threat to the natural environment and so may have bad effect on a country's wildlife. Tourists cause pollution and can damage the environment. What is more big companies are ruining the environment to build new facilities. For example, they cut down the forest, destroy the natural landscape in order to build hotels, restaurants for their business. Finally

Kafka's Hunger Artist

Kafka's Hunger Artist Kafka, in his masterpiece "The Hunger Artist," suggests that humans can never satisfy their desires. This is illustrated through the metaphorical hunger artist for whom nourishment is not being nourished at all. The viewing public's interest is derived from their desire to see the hunger artist cheating, but to view this would put an end to that desire. Finally, Kafka presents this idea while the artist is at the circus and describing when people wish to view the starved man. The hunger artist's nourishment is spiritual. The man only wishes to be honored by the public. As he continuously spirals downward in his health, he looses all forms of material nourishment. As the days go on, there is conflict between the artist and the audience, as they do not believe him honest in claiming not to have eaten

The advantages and disadvantages of being a vegetarian

However, it can be said there are both advantages and disadvantages for deciding to be a vegetarian. Firstly, vegetarians feel that there are certain advantages to be gained by not eating meat. They consider substitute foods such as soya, cereals and vegetables to be an even better source of protein than meat. It is maintained that such foods are low in fat and cholesterol, therefore promoting better health. Finally, by avoiding meat, vegetarians believe they are not eating contaminated food which is often a source of many illnesses. On the other hand, some people feel that being a vegetarian also has disadvantages. For example, such a diet can be boring and tasteless. Moreover, the choice of food available is often limited when eating out. In addition, not eating meat can often lead to deficiency in iron and protein which can result in serious health problems. in newspapers and magazines. But like everything else in this world, advertising also has it is advantages and disadvantages. Starting with advantages the biggest plus is probably that advertising can inform people about different products and services, their utilities, cost and other requirement. Also, advertisements about non-commercial issues like AIDS can help in educating people and notifying possible problem. Finally, one big advantage is providing employment. Not only advertising itself needs many workers, but companies who are increasing their sales volume of goods mostly expand themselves and that may give job to thousands of people. Unfortunately there are some dark sides of advertising. Firstly, it uses children to increase its income and impressionable kids will make their parents life as hard as possible to get what they want, even if it is not necessary or healthy

Then, when we had waited for a long time a young girl came to us and asked us if we had a table booked, we answered that we did not and so we were given the menus and lead to available seatings. When we had decided what to have there was once again no-one to serve us and when the waitress finally showed up she could not answer our questions about the specifics of the menu. Finally we came to a conclusion that I would take the french fries, but without jalapeno, which I especially accentuated. After 15 minutes of more waiting the dishes arrived, but there was still jalapeno in my food. I was really disappointed and took the dish back, saying it was not what I ordered. The waitress looked a me poshly and did not even apologise, but just took the dish and went into the kitchen

The chemical processes are complicated and need special circumstances to react. As a result of those, concrete usually cracks. And finally, concrete usually contains steel constructions to shear strength and compensate stressed areas. (slide) But if the concrete gets damaged, the steel is also affected by corrosion. The corrosion is mainly caused by CO2 or chlorides, which can be found in sea water and road de-icing salts. To avoid these problems stainless steel and chemical admixtures should be used. Letter of complaint

The advertisement about the club was misleading in several ways. First of all, the advertisement said that the photograph of me and my family will be returned directly but I sent my photo a month ago and there hasn't been any return yet. It also claimed that I will receive the names and address of the people who will correspond with me whereas I got only two so far. To make matters worse the advertisement said that I will get letters from my six new friends but I have heard nothing about them. Finally, why did I get a bill although that service is supposed to be free for all students? Yours faithfully, Piret Elias

Letter about my recent health problem

3 March 2012 Dear Jane, How are you? I haven't heard from you in a while. I am writing to tell you about my recent health problem I had food poisoning. I got it when I visited Mexico. I ate something that probably caused it. I am not really sure what it was. I had to drink plenty of fluids and rest a lot. I was down with that poisioning for two days. On the third day I could finally turn back to my normal life and start eating again. That poisoning was very terrible. I felt extremely bad and mostly I was sad about ruining my vacation. For at least two days I couldn't enjoy Mexico. That is all for now. Let me know if your health is okay. I hope I'll hear from you soon. Love, Mari

Letter homework

I have found the advertisement in the Internet and I am going to ask some questions. First of all I wonder if pets are allowed in the house of family booking? We have a dog and that would be really very difficult to leave him at home alone for two weeks. What about extra fee car parking? How much would it cost? Is there a fridge in the kitchen? I am also interested in price. All the rent costs 252 €? Including bed linen & towels? Or we have to take along our toiletries? And finally: What about internet access? Do you have it? Looking forward to your answer, Yours faithfully, Mari Mets

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities? Is our cities a safe place for us? Tons of harmful gases emit to the air everyday. Factories have caused this problem. We need to do something fast before our city doesn`t become deserted. Firstly, we have to create industrial park. It will help to reduce factories in the cities, where a lot of people live. Another solution is to start stricting the laws. If the laws be very strict, then less and less persons will be able to get a license for the new factory. Finally, we should renovate our factories. Modern plant emit less unhealthy gases. This would allow us to start a policy, which will help to clean our environment. In conclusion, there are many ways to make our cities a better place to live. Some people say that popular British-American traditions are destroying Estonian culture

Different countries like Germany and Russia have influenced our cultur e. For example Seto people have polyphonic folk music because of Russia, rest of Estonia don't have it. Secondly I think nowadays it's normal that people take over some things in different cultures because we have globalization. For example people increasingly celebrate Halloween in Estonia. I believe because of things like that people say that British-American traditions are destroying. Finally I believe that British-American traditions are destroying when we let them to destroy our culture. But if we don't forget how valuable our culture is then it's alright.

Canada´s history

transplanted from other parts of the world, especially from Europe. The first European visitors to North America were Norsemen who settled briefly in the 11th century. John Cabot, a Venetian seeking riches for England, made the next known voyage in 1497. He took back word that the sea was full of fish which could be taken not only with a net but in baskets let down into the water. The early 1500s saw the start of a rush by other seafaring countries to fish in the coastal waters of Canada. Finally the contest of claims came down to two: England and France. French claims date from explorations by Jacques Cartier (1534) and Samuel de Champlain (1603). Neither Cabot's nor Cartier's explorations left any permanent settlers behind, but after Champlain's trip , in 1604 the French founded the first permanent settlement in what is now Canada. The first city founded by the french was Quebec. New France was generally the name given to the french colonies of Canada and Acadia.
