about education. The report is based on 2 surveys carried out in Estonia and the United Kingdom. THE AIM OF CHILDREN’S EDUCATION As predicted all the Estonian children questioned, think that the main aim of children’s education is to prepare them for everyday life. Surprisingly 73% of the questioned British children think that the aim of children’s education is to prepare them for a career. Only 23% of the questioned British think that school prepares them for everyday life. The result surprised me because it showed that British kids and Estonian kids think very differently. THE SCHOOL UNIFORM Surprisingly, 17% of the questioned Estonian students approved the school uniform, for me it was surprising that so many approved the school uniform. Predictably, 74% of the questioned British students approved school uniform, which was expected, because school uniforms are more wide-spread in British schools than in Estonian schools. CORPORAL PUNISHMENT ISSUE That topic also, surprised

The New Beginning II

The young man decided not to disturb them so he went on in total silence. Soon he reached the main hall, but his leader, captain Jacques, wasn't there as he had expected. "Well, now that is quite problematic..."he claimed to the sleeping baby, "Interesting, what would your mother do in a situation like this?" But the child was too small to give him an answer. "Oh well," sighed the man, "sleep while you can, little one!" "You are back!" a gentle voice surprised him. The soldier turned around and saw princess Eliza, the youngest daughter of the queen, swaying at the stairs and smiling her sunny smile at him. "Your highness!" said youth and wanted to make a deep bow, but a sudden laughter stopped him. "What on earth are you doing?" asked the princess and came downstairs waving with her fan. "Oh!" she shouted then and stopped. She was staring at the baby now, whom was scared by such a sudden voice and started crying.

Righteous Kill

After Rooster had killed Spider he makes Turk to confess in front of a camera to make him responsible for those killings. But soon as Rooster is trying to escape Turk catches up with him and dialogue continues, after that Rooster pulls a gun out to shoot Turk but Turk is faster and kills Rooster. I really enjoyed this movies because 2 of my favorite actors were in it (Robert De Niro and Al Pacino) and my favorite rapper (Curtis Jackson also known as `'50 Cent''). The twist in the end really surprised me, I really thought that Turk was the killer but as soon as Rooster killed Spider that really surprised me. There were not too many shooting and more like a mystery so I could think about the murders like who did it and why. That movie really was not what I think it would be but it was still good and maybe the best movie this year. Arnold Leesmäe 10C

The house was very old and in bad condition. There was no gate or entrance. It looked empty. It was dark when he arrived at the house and there were no lights on. He knocked once on the big wooden door. Nothing happened so he knocked again. David heard someone inside so he became angry

"The Taming of the Shrew" Shakespeare

The motifs of this play are disguise, domestication, fathers and their children. Climax There is no single moment of intense action in the play, but rather a long process of development culminating in Katherine's fully changed behaviour. The climax could be seen in the wedding scene in Act III or in Katherine's decision in Act III to agree with Petruchio whatever he says. Conclusion I was a pleasantly surprised after reading this book. At first I was afraid there would be complicated use of words and heavy use of complex rhyme schemes. It was relieving to find out that the book was very easy to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in literature. The book was fun and I am absolutely not surprised that this play is one of Shakespeare's most performed plays in the world.

Most unforgettable childhood experience

What is your most unforgettable childhood experience? I have quite many childhood experiences that i remember, but following is the one, what i can remember really well. I was 5 years old, just learned to ride a bike, and as most of kids at the same age, so do i wanted a new bike. One day that my mother came to brought me home from kindergarten, we went home, and i was very surprised when i saw brand new bike standing at living room. I was so excited and immediately wanted to go for a ride, but in outdoors was already dark, so I had to wait next day. At that night i couldn't sleep very well, because i was so excited and anxiously waited for morning. It was one of my best and memorablest days from my childhood.

Description of an Interesting Person I Have Met

He wore chequered shorts and his upper body was naked. He was very handsome, because he was about 180cm long, muscular and strong physiognomy. He had wavy nose, blonde stylish hair, thick lips, bright colour brows and deep blue eyes. He was very friendly .I laughed most of the time with him, because he known a lot of anecdotes and he had done so much funny things in his life. I am very surprised about the way he looked and the way he acted, because everything was so great.

Eclipse, Chapter Eighteen – Instruction kokkuvõte

Each wolf, in turn, approaches the individual members of the Cullen family, smelling and sniffing them all. Bella recognizes Jacob as the reddish-brown wolf. She realizes he seems the most relaxed of the pack. Jacob meets her gaze and comes closer. Bella notices that Edward is measuring her reactions, clearly hoping to find her afraid or disgusted by what she sees. But instead of being afraid, Bella reaches out and runs her fingers through Jacob's fur. She is surprised by how it is both rough and soft. Suddenly Jacob licks her across her entire face, laughing and jumping out of the way when she yells and smacks at him playfully in response. Both vampires and werewolves, and especially Edward, are all shocked and bewildered by the encounter. The wolves leave, but Jacob stays behind. Jacob speaks to Edward through his mind, eventually turning back into his human form to openly discuss Bella's safety during the newborn battle

Letter of complain

before. I was doing my shopping at your department store yesterday after I came from work and I got into a rude conversation with your employee after I did not remember my credit card pin-code and tried to pay in cash after that. But except a pleasant smile, I got insulted and told that I should know if I do have money on my credit card or not. Concerning how pleasant the employees at your shop usually are I was very surprised by this acting. That caused me deep disapproval about your shop. The name of employee who insulted me was Michael. I expect that you will resolve my problem immediately, not just for me, but for all the people who might get insulted by your shop assistant. I hope this matter will be given immediate attention and I am looking forward for information about this inconvenience that I was a part of. Yours faithfully, Tõnu Tõukeratas

My charity day

I woke up at 11 a.m, ate my breakfast and then went to shower. We decided to do the charity in Old Town, our destination was sell as much our clothes, what we do not need anymore, as we can. All the money, what we received, went to charity. 76 In the beginning we set up our clothes and then we started to waiting our first clients. It was our fist time to do something like that in the public and at the start we did not know how people would react for that activity. We were nicely surprised, because we did much better job than we first expected.

Letter Of Complaint

Lines cruise on the 10th-13th January. I went on the Carribbean cruise and I was completely dissatisfied. Firstly, your advertisement promises large deluxe cabins but they were actually quite small. I did not have room to move around in the cabin. Also the cabin was really dirty. It seemed like it had not been cleaned for a long time. I felt very uncomfortable staying there. What is more, I had to share my bathroom with other guests, which was really unpleasant and annoying. It surprised me because your advertisement said that you have private bathrooms. Furthermore, the food in the restaurant was horrible. It was cold and tasted awfully. I had to wait for two hours for the waitress to bring me my meal. It was really unpleasant and unlike the "5 star restaurant" you advertised. I am very disappointed indeed. I would like a full refund for the cost of my cruise as well as an apology for the appalling conditions. I hope to hear to hear from you regarding this matter

Unfortunately 90 per cent of them told that they never had any free money. Collectors So one out of ten guests told that they buy paintings frequently. But most of them were actually collectors and only two guests said that they collected art from young painters. 10 visitors admitted that they bought art just to decorate their home and they actually did not care what kind of painting they were. Proof All in all, researchers were not much surprised by the findings. The survey just showed and confirmed how much our young talented English artists are depending on that financial support coming from The National Art Association.

Essee: The effects mobile phones have on our lives.

The effects mobile phones have on our lives Martin Põldvee 12a It is clearly that mobile phones have become an irreplaceable part of our lives. We use it to communicate with others, arrange our business or just for entertainment. As the mobile phones have simplyfied our lives in various ways, it also brings many disadvantages. To begin with, many researches have shown that mobile phone radiation may be harmful to human health. If mobile phones are used too frequently it may slightly damage your brain or reduce men's potential in getting siblings. It is also belieaved that mobile phones may cause some sleeping problems. Another, more usual problem what comes with cellphones is that they are expensive to use and when the battery is dead, it is completely useless. Also if parents trust their children to use mobile phones at very young age, the may get surprised when they finally see the bill. Because there are...

A day out to remember

A day out to remember It was a sunny summer day. I woke up, like always, brushed my teeth and went to eat. After all that, I chill in my computer, chat with friends and just watched TV. I had a phone call, I was a little bit surprised because it was my old friend with who I didn't see a long time. she called me, to ask, whether i want to go out with her. I agree and started to dress. When I stepped out from the house, I looked around and see that day was wonderful. When I was walking by the old lady, she was smiling to me, I smiled to her too. And then she said something strange, she said < Be careful today, girl. > At first I didn't notice it, but when I walked more I started to think about this

Jane Austen "Pride and prejudice"

I love those classic love stories, that are just so good and make me think along. I haven't seen the movie, so that gave me free hands to imagine the story like I would like. It's not only me who can imagine the people and places in my mind, I think that's the reason too why so many like that novel. And the characters are also very different and surprising. For ending I would like to recommend this book to everyone because it's interesting, unpredictable and just amazing. I was really surprised when I reached in the middle of the book and started thinking that it's really good novel. I'm really glad that I choosed this novel. Käty Haasma

Survey Report

biggest problem with rock bands is that they have a lot of different musical instruments so we should consider building bigger stage. According to our questioning that we handed out to our gymnasium classes three most popular genres were dance, rock and also pop. The percentages as seen from the table were 29%, 24% and 31%. We should take it into consideration that both surveyed groups wanted to listen to pop and rock music. Antoher thing that surprised our student committee was that classical music is not listened to among our students, which means we can exclude it and still get a lot of visitors. The best side about it is that we can earn more income from the ticket sales by making so. In conclusion, the survey clearly shows that we have to include rock and pop artists and maube dance music. This way highschool students can free their souls by dancing.

they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day. Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming." All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. Näidendi arvustus ,,Otsast alates"

Of cource they got caught. This party implicated such much trouble that some students had to leave the school. The designer of the play was Ursula Vanamölder. Her designs and superb drawings were miracular. Musical artist of this play was Siim Aimla. He used songs from very many noted composers. Such as Veljo Tormis, Gustav Ernesaks, Mihkel Lüdig, Valter Ojakäär etc. I really liked this play. The music was really good and I was really surprised by the young actors and also the extraordinary young musicians. I wonder if they are so good at such a young age, then what great things can they do years later. I would definitely recommend this play to anyone who enjoys good music and history. Anete Palmik 11a

A book review

Only persone he really seemed to be fond of was his little sister Phoebe. The book has a slightly depressing undertone because Holdens thougts about the situation he was in and his surroundings were often very gloomy. The lousy hotel where he stayed was probably the gloomiest part of the book. The author uses slang and repeats often same words which is essentially quite similar to something that a teenager would do. This does not make, however, the text duller but makes it more lifelike. What surprised me was that even though it is about 60 years old but still alot of today's young people face similar problems as did Holden. Like not knowing what to do with one's life. At first it seemed to me that it was just a random part of someones life. While reading the book I got often bored and couldn't understand what was so special about it and why it is so famous. After finishing the book my first impressioon was that I didn't like it. But I still could not get it out of my mind

Mardi Gras

flames made from paper and representing hell. Later, a person of true royal blood found his way into the festival. Alexis Alexandrovich Romanov, the brother of the heir to the Russian throne, went to New Orleans, where the Mardi Gras was being planned. When the planners discovered that a royal person was attending the noisy festivities a float was added for a new king, "Rex." That year, 1872, set the pattern for the Mardi Gras that is celebrated today.. The Grand Duke Alexis was surprised and honored to sit on the float and play the role of Rex. Alexis and Lydia, her loved one whom he had fallowed to New Orleans, probably never even met, but they began a tradition. Rex and his queen are chosen each year to ride on the largest float. They are masked and in costume. Those around the royalty, called "maskers," toss "throw- outs" to the crowd in response to the traditional cry, "Throw me something mister!" The "throw-outs" are large tin coins, plastic beads and other trinkets.

Arkady Shilkloper

is in my opinion amaizing. I have listend to many professional french horn players around the globe, but Arkady still remains my favorite. When I started this assignment, the first person who came to my mind was Arkady Shilkloper, but before making a final decision I fliped through a few magazines to find something else. I did find some good articles, but they were nothing compared to this man. So when i started browsing through the internet I was surprised by how many popped up. Since the concert, I'd bought one of his CD's and really admired that, but I had never thought he'd be this famous. Many magazines around the Europe, and of course Russia, have written about him, so at first I had trouble finding articles in English. But in no time I found his web page and used sources from there. I have always loved jazz music, but this man is on a completely different level and I sincerely hope more people could appreciate him! http://www.jaro

Éclipse chapter 12 - kokkuvõte

(and possibly lose her soul) just so he can keep her forever. If there were any way for him to become human for her he'd do it, whatever the cost. To Bella's horror, Edward then asks Bella why she won't marry him. After many evasions, she admits that she finds the idea of getting married straight out of high school embarrassing and ridiculous. It's just not something intelligent, responsible girls of her generation do. Edward is surprised by her answer -- and relieved. It never occurred to him that her reservations might be about marriage itself. When he admits to worrying that perhaps she was more interested in immortality than in him, it's Bella's turn to laugh, assuring him that without him, she wouldn't want to live even a day, let alone eternity. Reassured, Edward tells Bella that he understands her qualms about marriage; but he asks her to try to understand how natural getting married seems to someone of his own era

Pride and Prejudice Book report

Darcy proposes Elizabeth again and this time she accepts. They have a double wedding with joy and love. A major theme is the importance of environment and upbringing on the development of young people's character and morality. Social standing and wealth are not necessarily advantages. Pride and Prejudice, employs the narrative technique of free indirect speech. Austen invites the reader to follow events from Elizabeth's viewpoint, sharing her prejudices and misapprehensions and being surprised along with her when events prove these to be mistaken. In my oppinion, the book was really good and I liked it a lot. Though the language was quite difficult to understand sometimes, but I liked the style she has written the novel. I like the way she talks about the characters so prolixly and they were somehow still jolly. I did not like the character of Darcy in the beginning, because I thought it was too strict and was not humorous at all. But in the end I thought he is a

because she makes it into this really cool school.' I thought great, I loved it. From that point on, it's been an incredible ride." Read her whole letter inside... "Our first day of production of the pilot was on my 16th birthday. I remember Dan saying, `some girls get a car for their 16th birthday, but I just thought I'd give you a TV show'. We all laughed and we then started our very first table read. It was all so exciting. At the end of the table read, they surprised me with a big birthday cake, flowers and balloons. It was a moment I'll never forget. That moment happened Feb. 19th, 2009. "The show aired in March of 2010 right after the Kids Choice Awards and we debuted to record numbers for the network. The family who turned back the clock.

Carol was encouraged to go everywhere on foot or by bicyle (women rarely drove 50 years ago), told to ignore the washing machine and dishwasher, and she was discouraged from using the telephone. How did they cope? The much-dreaded three days got under way! Old-fashioned meals, games, and entertainment were planned for the evenings. After eating together at the kitchen table, they sat playing cards, putting off doing the washing-up because they all hated doing that. Carol was surprised at how long everything took. "By the time I had washed up the breakfast things and got back from walking the children to school, it was nearly lunchtime. Getting to the shops, which normally takes five minutes in the car, took at least an hour, so it was impossible just to pop out for a loaf of bread. It was strange having to wait until the washing dried in the garden before getting the ironing done, instead of simply using the drier."
