Estonians: What we’re really like

painful history but I think we've been strong and kept our heads up. We may have a little country but it doesn't mean that the people are small too. The Estonians are more self-confident than you can ever imagine. We have many talented people, especially athletes like Markko Märtin, Marko Asmer, Kaia Kanepi, Andrus Veerpalu and Mart Poom. We love sports and working out is a part of our lives, that's why you don't see almost any overweight people in the streets. We are reputed to be quite stubborn, I don't think that's true about our stereotype. I do think that we're too reserved. We're too tense all the time and don't really go with it when somebody is trying to make us laugh. It takes a little time until we warm up and start to communicate. Somehow we tend to make jokes on ourselves. Then you may realize, that you can really have fun with us.

Truancy in school – individual responsibility

There can be many reasons why parents cannot cope with their children. Families are different and you never know what is going on between the members of the family. If the child who is already old enough does not go to school it is his not his parents' responsibility because it is his future and he has a right to decide what to do after becoming an adult. I find that the idea that it is only the responsibility of the parents that their child skips school is quite wrong because there are many stubborn and unpredictable children who just cannot be forced to attend classes and parents can do nothing about it even if they do want their child to study. The thing that parents need to do is to explain their children why is it important to attend the school and become an educated person and how education influences the life of the human being. But even if they fail to do that I think that it does not give the right to punish them. I think that in the UK the Education Act is too strict

About myself

But despite my efforts I was not good at Math. School for me was not only lessons and learning I had a lot of friends there. We organized extra class activities such as parties and other social activities. I actively participated in most of them. I am sociable, so I have got a lot of friends among my schoolmates. As for me I appreciate people's hornesty, kindness, sense of justice and intelligence. I don't like when people are rude and aggressive. I am stubborn at times. But to my mind being persistent is not always a bad thing. It means my aim, I never leave things half done. At times I feel dissatisfied with myself, especially when I fail to do something or can't do things the way they should be done. At the same time I think I am hard working and diligent. My greatest problem at school was talking in front of the class. I always blushed and went red.

You can decide if two adjectives in a row are coordinate by asking the following questions: · Does the sentence make sense if the adjectives are written in reverse order? · Does the sentence make sense if the adjectives are written with and between them? If you answer yes to these questions, then the adjectives are coordinate and should be separated by a comma. Here are some examples of coordinate and non-coordinate adjectives: He was a difficult, stubborn child. (coordinate) They lived in a white frame house. (non-coordinate) She often wore a gray wool shawl. (non-coordinate) Your cousin has an easy, happy smile. (coordinate) The 1) relentless, 2) powerful 3) summer sun beat down on them. (1-2 are coordinate; 2-3 are non-coordinate.) The 1) relentless, 2) powerful, 3) oppressive sun beat down on them. (Both 1-2 and 2-3 are coordinate.) 7. with Tyler, of course not so extreme. I often find myself asking others' opinions about existential questions. Did you like this character? Why/why not? Overall I liked this character already because of the idea of having a character in the book that didn't exist in the real world, as he was just the narrator's imagination. I liked his rebellious and out of the box thinking, but he was stubborn and bossy at times. 6. Did you like the book? Would you recommend it to your classmates? Why/why not? I liked the book very much because of its violent and anarchistic ideas. Personally I thought the book was going to be a lot longer since the movie was over 2 hours long, and I wish the book was longer. I would recommend this book to my classmates, but more to the guys, unless some of the girls have a somewhat weird love for extreme violence.

the universitary record. Towards the end of the season at Zurich he still has the energies to jump 8,52 m against an opposite wind of 2,2 m/s. Then at Rome, after winning long jump he loses the 100 m thanks to an injury. This was a particular defeat for Carl as trainers told him he couldn't practice sprint and jumping at the same time. So he should have renounced to follow the footprints of Jesse Owens. Carl is stubborn and in 1982 improves in the long jump (8,76 m) and becomes more constant in 100 m. So in 1983 he was ready to do the general attempts for the Olympic games of the following year. In fact the first edition of the world championship was expected and he qualified for 100 m, 200 m and long jump. He showed all his powerful qualities. On 19th June he runs the semi- final of 200 m in 20"15 s. Then he goes for the long jump. First jump: 8,71 m. Second jump:

This was a feeling of loathing for something-- whether for Aleksey Alexandrovich, or for himself, or for the whole world, he could not have said. But he always drove away this strange feeling. Now, too, he shook it off and continued the thread of his thoughts." It is a big moment for Vronsky, one unanticipated. Still, stubborn Anna will not listen to his reasoning. She will proceed in torment. Chapters 26-35 Karenin gets angry with Anna for ignoring him at the race. When he confronts her with this on the way home, she bluntly declares that she is in love with Vronsky, and that she hates Karenin. Karenin bounces back with a typical response, one detached from all emotion. He tells Anna she needs to act in public as though she were a good, obedient wife

I wanted to make a living based on my own merits and that meant an entry-level position. Starting the next morning, I would be the assistant to Mark Garrity at Waters Field & Leaman, one of the preeminent advertising agencies in the US. My stepfather, mega-financier Richard Stanton, had been annoyed when I took the job, pointing out that if I'd been less prideful I could've worked for a friend of his instead and reaped the benefits of that connection. "You're as stubborn as your father," he'd said. "It'll take him forever to pay off your student loans on a cop's salary." That had been a major fight, with my dad unwilling to back down. "Hell if another man's gonna pay for my daughter's education," Victor Reyes had said when Stanton made the offer. I respected that. I suspected Stanton did, too, although he would never admit it. We are not educated in the areas which could help us solve the multitudes of crisis facing the Black race in this new millennium. In fact, it is not that we are not educated, but it is that we avoid those educational areas which we consider hard and pick the soft areas. Rather than hard core science, we choose social science. But even with the droves of us going into social science, we don’t even know who we are, where we come from and where we are going. Without the stubborn determination of Africans from the Diaspora, most of the history and geography taught in African educational institutions would still be colonial education; in fact, it is still colonial education. We have watched as countries like China, India, Israel and Pakistan – countries that gained their independence almost at the same time as most of the African countries – acquire nuclear capabilities. Africans don’t even understand those areas of scientific undertaking.

Since it is so typically in our best interests to be consistent, we fall into the habit of being automatically consistent even in situations where it is not the sensible way to be. When it occurs unthinkingly, consistency can be disastrous. Nonetheless, even blind consistency has its attractions. First, like most other forms of automatic responding, it offers a shortcut through the complexities of modern life. Once we have made up our minds about issues, stubborn consistency allows us a very appealing luxury: We don't have to think hard about the issues anymore. We don't really have to sift through the blizzard of information we encounter every day to identify relevant facts; we don't have to expend the mental energy to weigh the pros and cons; we don't have to make any further tough decisions. Instead, all we have to do when confronted with the issues is click on our consistency tape, whirr, and we know just what to
