Eclipse book review

The Seattle is endangered because of newborn vampires, who are bloodthirsty and will attack the town. Newborn vampires are controlled by Victoria. Werewolves and vampires cooperate in order to protect the city and Bella. Edward kills Victoria and Edward and Bella will start planning the wedding. After the wedding Bellas may become a vampire, Edward and Bella will be together forever. In my opinion I think Stephenie Meyer is a very good American author and her book "Eclipse" is well written book. Only thing I think is that the events are moving little bit too slowly.

“You can never go home again“ Lord of the flies

When they were all scared of the beast, the survival instinct started to play a role in boys life and that was probably one of the reasons why boys turned into savages . The other cause would be the fact that there is an evil side in every person. Golding presented the conflict between good and bad as the conflict between Ralph and Jack, where first one was the representative of civilisation and order, and other one represented the desire of power and savagery. The author showed quite effectively that Kristel Sepp TIK IB 09.10.09 savagery is more fundamental to human nature than instinct of civilisation by this that eventually Jack was the one who won all the boys over to his side and made his own tribe, but Ralph was left all alone with no companions. Ralph remained firm to his beliefs throughout the book but still some signs of savagery emerged in him for example when he had to run for his life from Jack's tribe who wanted to kill him

even could mean that he had somekind of bipolar disorder. He could literally hate a person in one second and love in the next. He criticises others alot for being phony. Only persone he really seemed to be fond of was his little sister Phoebe. The book has a slightly depressing undertone because Holdens thougts about the situation he was in and his surroundings were often very gloomy. The lousy hotel where he stayed was probably the gloomiest part of the book. The author uses slang and repeats often same words which is essentially quite similar to something that a teenager would do. This does not make, however, the text duller but makes it more lifelike. What surprised me was that even though it is about 60 years old but still alot of today's young people face similar problems as did Holden. Like not knowing what to do with one's life. At first it seemed to me that it was just a random part of someones life. While reading the

"River of Death" Alistair Maclean

The suddenly the Military came and arrested the criminals. Hamilton showed his mothers and fathers grave to Manteuffel. Manteuffel said that he was going to be a dead man. So military was going to take manteuffel away but he managed to get free and jumped off the cliff. Hamilton repeated his word about being a dead man. The crew found big amount of treasures. The Lost city really existed. My opinion It was a great book. At first book seemed boring but like author said about the book, that it is full of suprises and it was true. The end was quite interesting. It was a bit hard to read, because some pages consist of lots of new word. But if the harder word were translated, then it was easy to follow.

Book Report "To Kill A Mockingbird"

Author The book was written by Nelle Harper Lee. She was born on April 28, 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama. She attended the local Huntington College and later studied law at the University of Alabama. She has won the Pulitzer Prize for that book and many other literary awards. Lee began to write "To Kill a Mockingbird" in the 1950s in New York and published it in 1960. Setting The action takes place in Maycomb, Alabama, a town invented by the author. Between 19331935. Maycomb is a quiet little town and many people there seem to be narrow-minded. Main Characters The main characters are Scout, Atticus and Jem. Scout is a little girl, she is intelligent, thoughtful and brave. She definitely seems boy-like because she isn't afraid to fight with boys. Scout also has a warm heart, she always has best intentions and worries about the poor. Jem, Scouts brother, is entering puberty and is not so stable as Scout.

his friends Basil, a conventially minded and talented painter and does not even feel guilty after that. The third quite important charachter there is Lord Henry, a friend of both Dorian and Basil. He is a charming talker and a brilliant intellect. The climax occurs when Dorian kills Basil. He thinks that since Basil painted the portrait, that ruined Dorian's life, the painter should be punished for this. Evaluation I think that the writing was effective and definately the author achieved his purpose. Many people told me before reading this book, that they have never read a better book in their life. After first couple of chapters I thought we just have different tastes in books, as I usually do have, but the book was quite interesting in the end. Most of all I liked the plot, I think it was very well written and the author had good imagination. Also, the philosophy in this book was worth reading. Usually when you are in the

Seventeenth summer

Seventeenth Summer was the first novel published by author Maureen Daly in 1942. The book talks about a girl's first experience with dating and falling in love. (A seventeenth year old girl named Angie who falls for the popular boy Jack.) I think this book was really good. But it is a little bit slow book, it does not really have any action in it and it just more of a leisurely book to read. I liked the romance and the character development, I liked the simplistic nature of their love. It made me yearn for respect and honor, modesty and decency. I
