Alcohol

-Does not respond to being pinched, prodded or poked. -Cannot stand up -Will not wake up -Slow labored or adnormal breathing -Skin has a purple color -Skin feels clammy -Rapid pulse rate -Irregular heart rythem -Lowered blood pressure Another common thing is choking to death on your own vomit after an alcohol overdose. Death by asphyxiation occurs when alcohol depresses the body's reflexes to the point that you cant vomit right. Another thing that comes along with binge drinking is depression and suicide. You get depressed so you drink and since alcohol is a depressant it brings you down even more it brings you to the state of hopelessness. The toxic effects of alcohol can manipulate you brains neuro-transmitters, which are responsible for mood and judgement. This can plung you into deeper depression and bring thought about suicide. It can also bring a cycle of drinking: the more you drink the more depressed you become, and that makes you want to drink more.

Addiction and drugs

your developing brain. Some movies and music make "stoner" culture seem cool, natural and like it's not a big deal. But if being fit and getting good grades are some of your goals, using marijuana can become a big deal, fast. Marijuana limits your brain's effectiveness, slows your thinking and impairs your coordination. A number of studies have also shown an association between chronic marijuana use and increased rates of anxiety, depression and schizophrenia. You may hear people ask, "If it's dangerous, why do so many people have medical marijuana cards?" It's true that scientists have determined that the cannabis plant has the potential for addressing a range of medical conditions. But using marijuana at a young age can result in structural and functional deficits of the brain. This could cause you to develop weakened verbal and communication skills, lowered learning capabilities and a shortened attention span.

much of your time, causing you to neglect your relations, your work, school, or other important things in your life. Surprisingly, computer addiction covers a variety of impulse-control problems including cybersex addiction, cyber-relationship addiction, net compulsions, information overload and Internet addiction. These findings supports the importance of the Internet addiction. Many people turn to the Internet in order to manage unpleasant feelings such as stress, loneliness, depression, and anxiety. This suggests that it's important to remember that there are healthier (and more effective) ways to keep difficult feelings in check. These may include exercising, meditating, using sensory relaxation strategies, and practicing simple breathing exercises. One anticipated finding was that you are at greater risk of Internet addiction if you suffer from anxiety, you are depressed, you have any other addictions, you lack social support, you're an

Munchaussen syndrome by proxy

Vahendatud Münchauseni sündroom/Münchauseni sündroom by proxy/Münchausen by proxy sündroom MSBP on üks laste väärkohtlemise vorm, kus hooldaja vigastab tema hoole all olevat last või nõuab lapsele ohtralt meditsiinilisi teste ja ravi, mille käigus tekib lapsele kahju, olematu, väljamõeldud või liialdatud seisundite tõttu. MSBP on üks lapse väärkohtlemise vorm, mida esimesena kirjeldas Inglise lastearst Roy Meadow aastal 1977. Sellise nime sai see häire selle sarnasuse tõttu Münchauseni sündroomile, mis on häire, kus inimene tahtlikult tekitab või mõtleb endale välja haigussümptomeid. Rangelt öelduna tähendab MSBP, et inimesel on Münchauseni sündroom ja see psühhopatoloogia avaldub lapse läbi. Munchaussen syndrome by proxy Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSP) is an uncommon disorder first described by Roy Meadow in 1977. It was so named because of its similarity to Mun- chausen syndrome, a factitious disorder in which a person intentionally produces or fa

Kvalitatiivne uurimustöö Emotsioonide regulatsioon ja stress

Emotion regulation in relation.. 8 to suppressive emotion expressive behaviour, reappraisal seems effectively to change the outcome in aversive events (Gross, 2002; Richards & Gross, 2000; Gross & Levenson, 1993). However, based on present knowledge it is known that reappraisal can be used not only to alter bad situations, mentally for the better, but is also used to exacerbate bad situations in the mind, which in turn could lead to depression and anxiety ( Segerstrom et al., 2000; Nolen-Hoeksema, 2000; Connor & Leonard, 1998) or ill health (Janine , 2007). Thus, it has become clearer that emotions influence not only our mood but also physiological functions. Sculkin (2003) noted that the appraisal systems, particularly the unconscious mechanisms, are pervasive throughout the nervous system therefore it is crucial to expand the methods of measuring it.
