The values in Estonian music and their reception in the world indicate that first of all the works of Rudolf Tobias, Eduard Tubin and Arvo Pärt are recognised and appreciated. The reasons for this simply flow from their music. Some of my colleagues may find one or another aspect of Estonian symphonism lacking in my survey. This is unavoidable. I opine that what may seem very important “inside” here, may seem quite unimportant to observers “outside”.
