Her father was a pole model and inspiration for her ever since she was a young girl. When she saw her father giving powerful and confident speeches, it motivated her to become as looked up as her father was as a political figure. What gave her a push into politics was wish to make a change in the world, Not to become someone, but to change something that would matter. She was wise and clever enough to do so. What drove her most was her remarkably strong will to stand for her beliefs, disregarding what others said or believed to be better. She strongly believed in her decisions and never backed downs on a decision what she had made. Her terrible stubbornness is probably why she was such a success as a prime minister. When presenting her thoughts, she was laughed off numerous times not just because of her gender but also cause she was known as the daughter of a grocer. For her support she had a great friend and an assistant, who could be called her right arm. Their friendship formed out
Short and sweet. Lo and behold. Phrasal verbs a verb and a particle and/or a preposition co-occur forming a single semantic unit. This semantic unit cannot be understood based upon the meanings of the individual parts in isolation, but rather it must be taken as a whole. Look after, look forward to. Lexical fields There is diachronic (historical) lexicology that studies origin and development; syncronic studies voc at a given historical period. There are general lexicology (studies words disregarding particular features of any particular language); special lexicology (studies specific features of a separate language); contrastive (compares vocabularies in different languages). Componential analysis refers to the description of the meaning of words through structured sets of semantic features, which are given as "present +", "absent -" or "indifferent with reference to feature +/-". Corpus the study of language as expressed in samples of "real world" text. This method
Marley refused amputation, citing worries that the operation would affect his dancing, as well as the Rastafari belief that the body must be "whole": Marley may have seen medical doctors as samfai (tricksters, deceivers). True to this belief Marley went against all surgical possibilities and sought out other means that would not break his religious beliefs. He also refused to register a will, based on the Rastafari belief that writing a will is acknowledging death as inevitable, thus disregarding the everlasting (or everliving, as Rastas say) character of life. Collapse and treatment The cancer then metastasized to Marley's brain, lungs, liver, and stomach. After playing two shows at Madison Square Garden as part of his fall 1980 Uprising Tour, he collapsed while jogging in NYC's Central Park. The remainder of the tour was subsequently cancelled. Bob Marley played his final concert at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 23, 1980
Innovation is a continuous improvement process – involving different inventions/innovations Innovation as a moving target The linear model and alternative approaches; innovation research "generations" ● The linear model (Kline and Rosenberg, 1986): Research (science) → development → production → marketing Problems: ● Generalising a chain of causation that only holds for a minority of innovations – disregarding important inputs (e.g. users’ experience) ● Ignoring feedback loops between the stages of the process Typology of innovations 1. New product or service (product innovation): “This includes significant improvements in technical specifications, components and materials, incorporated software, user friendliness or other functional characteristics.” Oslo Manual 2005 The most innovative companies: Google, Amazon, Apple, Samsun, Tesla 2
1.Lexicology as a science L. studies the voc of lg as a system. Word-learning, lexis-logos. The task of L is to establish the general features of modern Engl voc. Theoretical L. gives a complete picture of voc. Practical value lies in using and appretiating the lg more conciously. There is diachronic (historical) L that studies origin and development; syncronic studies voc at a given historical period. There are general L (studies words disregarding particular features of any particular lg); special L (studies specific features of a separate lg, there is Engl that bases on general L); contrastive (compares vocabularys in different languages). 2. Connection of L with other linguistic disciplines a) the word performes a certain grammatical function (nt, he always misses the class, how many misses are there; the girl powders her nose, soliders face powder)In speech words are combined according to grammatical rules

tööpäevaga. Arvutustes ei ole arvestatud seadmete paigaldamise ning töötajate väljaõpetamiseks kuluva ajaga. 46 10. SUMMARY The aim of this thesis was to study the suitability of two optical sensors for a calibration process of water meters. While writing this thesis the author studied the working principle of optical sensors, analysed different solutions, disregarding all that did not suit the needs of this work and concentrated on thouse that showed the most potential. Also the calibration method of water meters was carefully examined, which stated the requirements that the optical sensors should fullfill while working. The practical part of the work was made simpler by authors two years of experience with water meters and measuring equipment used for the process. The results in table 8
proceed. It implies strong emotion. Nominative sentence is nouns or noun phrases appearing as a separate sentence naming someting.
