The Universe according to Douglas Adams

The Universe, according to Douglas Adams The Universe is truly a magnificent phenomenon. It has remained unfathomable throughout history. Even in the Modern Era, where so much has already been achieved, we lack complete and certain answers to a plethora of questions about the Universe. Luckily, Douglas Adams already seems to have that covered in his book "Life, the Universe and Everything", which is the third installment in the series "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Initially, Adams describes the idea of time travel. In real world physics, the concept has a very limited application. Yet according to him, most of the theory on time travel is incomprehensible

Setting goals and trying to achieve them

Setting goals and trying to achieve them is an important factor of success Stanislav Stõkov MASB11 Every person's main goal or dream is to succeed in life. While the mission stays the same, the only difference is how it is achieved. Usually people set goals for themselves and attain them step by step, but how important is it in general? The advantages of setting goals include firstly, acting on a certain plan. If people have their goals straighten out, then they will not come to a point where they do not know what to do or what will happen next. It is much easier to move from one point to another if there is a direction. Secondly, if one goal is attained then people feel already sense of

something to your teacher and getting it back later with corrections. By carefully analyzing the mistakes made in the work, many important discoveries which might be ignored before would be noticed that can later help to progress in something. What can also be brought up as a good example is analyzing errors after losing, so later, after correcting the mistakes, a win would be more likely to come. But progress and new discoveries can sometimes be achieved also without any mistakes made. For example, if a bright idea occurs in someones head, it is posible to work out something new and innovating by not making any errors. But it is rarely like that. To sum up, it can be said that mistakes do lead to progress and discovery - the knowledge gained from these mistakes is invaluable in progressing to greater heights. At the same time, it is not as though every discovery or progress in any field is always preceded by mistakes.

Somehow they do not aware their problem. How can anyone ever feel comfortable with dirty clothes, untidy skin and fetid body? This secret remains to be under disgusting cover. In conclusion I would say that look is really important! No matter what is being achieved, look has a solid role in result! Of course if people did not care of the way they look, some doors would be closed, but life still would worth living!

Shortly thereafter, he created one of his most important works, the statue of David, and a commissioned piece symbolizing the freedom of the republic of Florence. Michelangelo truly had achieved fame as an artist, and his talent became sought after by Pope Julius II, who asked him to go on a very artistic ship-journey, a commission to paint the ceiling of the Sistine chapel in Vatican. Cattle and sheep contribute more than 40 per cent of the value of gross agricultural output. Arable farming is concentrated mainly in eastern and south-central England and in eastern Scotland. The main crops grown are wheat, barley, oilseed rape, sugar beet, potatoes and oats. There is also a significant horticultural industry producing a variety of vegetables, orchard and soft fruits, and bulbs and flowers. The high productivity of the arable sector has been achieved by the removal of hedgerows to create larger fields, by mechanization, and by the intensive use of fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides. As with the issue of animal treatment, these trends in arable agriculture have provoked public concern. Combined, these concerns have helped encourage the rapid growth of vegetarianism in Britain since the early 1980s and the expansion of organic farming, although this is still on a very small scale. with the statement. To start with, while practising some sports and professions one needs to be talented. For instance, you can’t be a ballet dancer if you haven’t assumptions for that or you can’t be a composer if you haven’t musical hearing. If you have a talent, but you are not willing to use it and work with it you do not develop and then the talent is useless. I have a friend who has great singing voice, but she hasn’t trained it and unfortunately she’s not achieved anything in singing. I think if she had practiced singing, she could be very good and maybe even famous singer. Furthermore, Experience is something that everybody can gain and i think that experience is even more important than talent. Some jobs like a driver, police officer or firefighter need experience. Anybody isn’t born for becoming a firefighter. I believe that if you have a real intention, then you can be anything you want, you just have to work for it. I

right expressions. Body 2: That brings us to a fact that regular people have been frustrated with legal language for quite some time since it can sometimes be confusing and unnecessary. There is a smaller chance that your document will be misunderstood when plain language is used. And if your documents give instructions, your client is more likely to understand and follow them correctly. For example, a lease tries to regulate the way a tenant uses a property. That purpose cannot be achieved if the tenant cannot understand the lease. So lets be honest, having a tenant comply with a lease is so much better than taking action against a tenant for not complying with it. In addition to that not using legal English can save you a lot of time and money it gets your point and message across and people actually are able to understand it, which means your clients won't be calling you as often to get explanations and they will also be making

Thesis Statement The Sorrows on Young Werther

From his point of view these are the only solutions but he is not thinking about Lotte who really appreciates him as a dear friend. Werthers low self-esteem and unhappiness are connected to his decisions throughout the book, for example when he leaves Lotte and turns back to Weimar. He could have fought some more and not give up so easily. Although Lotte denies it Werther was much loved by her, he just did not try hard enough. If he had higher self-esteem and goals then I believe he would have achieved his purpose to win the heart of Lotte. Werther thinks that the only way to end his sorrows is to commit suicide but he does not have enough positivness to keep on fighting for her and start with accepting Lotte's friendship. He cannot find happiness and he takes the easy way out by ending his life with a suicide. In my opinion Werther was too negative. He should have looked at his opportunities from the brighter side and believe in himself. If you believe you can achieve!

Introduction of SCM

Purchasing contracts are often negotiated with very little information beyond historical buying patterns. The result of these factors is that there is not a single, integrated plan for the organization---there were as many plans as businesses. Clearly, there is a need for a mechanism through which these different functions can be integrated together. Supply chain management is a strategy through which such integration can be achieved. 2 IMPLICATIONS OF SCM ON LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT The challenge of integrating and coordinating the flow of materials from multitude of suppliers, including offshore, and similarly managing the distribution of the finished product by way of multiple intermediaries. Achieving cost reduction or profit improvement at the expense of their supply chain partners does not make companies more competitive.

Mussolini was rebellious and was expelled after a series of behavior related incidents, including throwing stones at the congregation after Mass, stabbing a fellow student in the hand and throwing an inkpot at a teacher. After joining a new school, Mussolini achieved good grades, and qualified as an elementary schoolmaster in 1901. 1902, Mussolini immigrated to Switzerland to work on his political horizons. During a period when he was unable to find a permanent job there, he was arrested for vagrancy and jailed for one night. 1915, he had a son with Ida Dalser. His growing defiance of Royal authority and anti- clericalism got him in trouble with the authorities until he was finally deported. He was

conscientious craftsman, the passivity of the dreamer indifferent to all that exists outside his dream world and the restless activity of a keen mind always on the alert. · Poe himself classified his tales as "grotesque", "arabesque", "ratiocinative", to indicate variations in his intentions. The ,,arabesque" are those in which horror or other emotion in violent suspense gives the tale its power ("The Fall of the House of Usher") In the ,,grotesque" tales the effect is achieved by a grim and ironic humour ("The Masque of Red Death") In the ,,ratiocinative" the effect comes from the use of rational analysis in reconstructing a series of events ("Murders in the Rue Morgue", "The Gold Bug") · The economy (tobacco had exhausted the soil) and also the spiritual life in Virginia was deteriorating (the democratic touch was disappearing, Virginia became a forgotten land). gain its independence. The impetus for independence was provided by the National Front, Estonia's main ideological movement, which based its ideas on US President Woodrow Wilson's principle of self-determination. On April 8, 1917, Estonian organisations and military personnel totalling 40 000 held a demonstration in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) in support of self-government of Estonia. The organised, peaceful demonstration achieved its goal when, on April 12, the Russian Provisional Government signed the Law on Estonian Autonomy, which united the Livonian counties of Tartu, Võru, Viljandi, Pärnu and Saaremaa with Estonia. For the first time an Estonian, Jaan Poska was appointed as a Provincial Commissioner of Estonia. A six-member Provisional National Council, the Maapäev, was formed. The Maapäev appointed a national executive that began to organise and modernise local government and educational institutions

The EU welcomed Azerbaijan's readiness to engage in a regular dialogue on human rights issues and democratization. There are also steps in the environmental matter. There have been 44 projects in order to improve the Mediterranean Sea`s condition. Also the co-operation in the field of energy have had great results. One is definately oil and gas pipelines. I think that very important things have been done but still many goals have not been achieved. Good examples are also Moldova`s first joint EU visa application centre and free trade area in Ukraine. EU is offering much money for the partership countries and the benefits that they both get is leading to results. EU is expanding its power and partners can eliminate its shortages and make corrections in their infrastructure and political field. 2. of the ENP is the conditionality for the EU's benefit, partner country's benefit,

he gives her a letter explaining his earlier behaviour. She then understands him perfectly and is upset that she had been so rude. Elizabeth returns home and as time goes by she gets to know him better and finally falls in love with him. In the end they marry and so does Jane with Mr. Bingley. Personal opinion I believe that Jane Austen tries to say that we should not judge the book by its cover and that we should look in the person's character deeper. I think that she has excellently achieved her purpose. The book is really well-written, the writing is effective and beautiful. She writes with great clarity and precision, and fills the dialogues with irony, making many characters reveal their foolishness to the reader through their ridiculous comments. Generally the characters are vivid and believable. The book is both humorous and deeply serious. Humour can be found everywhere in the book, in it's character descriptions, imagery, but mostly in it's conversations between

Escaped slaves formed their own settlements known as Maroon communities, but with the abolition of slavery in 1834 many of the former slaves began to settle in urban areas. During the Second World War, the United States arranged for its airforce to use British airports in South America, including those in British Guiana. Guyana achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1966 and became a republic on 23 February 1970. The main economic activities in Guyana are agriculture, bauxite mining, gold mining, timber, shrimp fishing and minerals. The sugar industry, which accounts for 28% of all export earnings, is largely run by Guysuco, which employs more people than any other industry. Book report/review "The Snow Child"

He was a hunter and had a very strong character. He was responsible for the survival. They both completed each other. In my opinion the book was very enchanting and beautiful. The way the author describes Alaska, is very magical, because she has lived there her whole life. When I was reading the book I felt like I had been to Alaska, the writer really knows how to use the right adjectives to make the reader feel the cold and dark Alaskan winter. In my view, the book achieved its goal perfectly. The author knew exactly what kind of a message she wanted to bring to the reader and I believe that she succeeded. One specific point, which left me a bit confused was Fauna, the snow girl. I still can not understand how and why she woke up and became a real person. I guess this is the fact, which makes this book special, but I would have liked the book more if the author would have added a story about how she woke up. In general it was book that
