Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (inglise keelne kokkuvõte)

Ärkamisaeg Mis on ärkamisaeg eesti kultuuris? Pärisorjuse kaotamine ning 1860. aastail alanud talude päriseksostmine andis eestlastele võimaluse majanduslikuks ja kultuuriliseks edenemiseks. Kasvas eestlaste rahvaarv. ...

War Horse inglisekeelne ülevaade

War Horse ,,War Horse", a war drama film directed by Steven Spielberg talked about a horse and it's adventures before and during World War I. The screenplay is an adaption of M. Murpurgo's children's novel by the same name. One of the main characters is a boy named Albert, who'se father bought him a horse and Albert got to train it. Albert and the horse became very close friends. But when the war approached, they had to sell the horse in order to pay the bills. The horse, named Joey, travelled long distances and met many people. Everyone who saw Joey, wanted it to themselves. Finally, when the war was nearing it's end, Albert and Joey were reunited. I liked the movie because it told a compelling story about friendship and it taught us never to give up hope. The chances for Albert to see Joey again were very thin but luckily Joey was able to come back to it's true owner. I also liked the acting many o...

People can live one hundred years without really living a minute

"People can live one hundred years without really living a minute" Some people live a very long life but living a long life doesn't always mean a great life. Actions in your life are what will make your life truly amazing. First of all, when you live so many years without really doing something memorable, then what's the point. Life is all about challenges and adventures. They will make you wiser and you will have more things to remember. I think when you're finally old, it's great to look back and see what a wonderful life you've lived. On the other hand, some people are okay with just being and not doing something wonderful. They like their lifes just the way they are. They are happy with that comfortable position. Sometimes it's risky to take challenges. You'll never know what will happen and that can be very frightening sometimes. To conclude, people can live a long life without living, but it's really eveybodys own decisi...

Film review

Film review A film I have enjoyed recently is The Beach. What made me want to see it was the title first of all, and I also heard that my favourite actor Leonardo Di Caprio plays in that film. It was directed by Danny Boyle and it stars two young actors, Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert Carlyle. The film is set in Thailand. The main character is a young American man who travels to Thailand in search of the perfect vacation. During a stay in Bangkok, he meets a mysterious man who tells him about a secret beach. Richard then heads for southern Thailand in search of the island. Along the way, he meets a young French couple, Françoise and Étienne and he shares the secret of the island with them. The three then start to find the island and finally they get there. Heading further inland, they find a hidden beach where a small clan of travellers has settled. After their arri...

Have you ever wondered what travelling gives to people? Is it just all about getting away from home or something more? The person who has seen the world has more knowledge about the things going on elsewhere. From a personal standpoint, travelling is one of the ways how to accomplish themselves, for example some people go abroad only with a packback just to see if they could live without fancy hotels and only little cash in their pockets. On the other hand, it might get really hard to get food and shelter but young people like adventures. The second reason, why so many young people travel to other countries is that they want to become an exchange student. This also includes very much travelling and seeing the land. Unfortunately, it might be a sad travel because of missing their family. From a religious and historical point of view, it can be said that travelling can be really helpful if it comes to gaining knowledge about the history o...

The school holiday

The school holiday – time for new challenges and adventures Changes and challenges can come in many forms. An holiday is the perfect place to try something new, to push yourself to a new limit and realise your dreams. You can do something that you've never tried before, like going to new places or take part of the adventure games. You can go to the gym or run every day 5 km. I like to go hiking in the woods or just take a daytrip to a city where I have never been before. The other possibility is to go for a mental challenge, like learning new language, or reading an interesting book. It is good challenge to take a science or philosophy book, something that is not so easy to read so you can be proud of yourself after finishing it. It is also possible to learn new skills such as cooking or dancing or making yourself a short film or learn a new computer program. Some people find yourself a job for a holiday and earn money. Albumi pealkiri on tulnud sellest, kuidas Alice leidis pudeli, mille peale oli kirjutatud ''Joo mind!'' ning hiljem leidis koogi, mille juures oli silt ''Söö mind!''. (''Eat me, Drink me'', Wikipedia, 15.09.2011); (''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'', Wikipedia, 15.09.2011) ''See on nii sünge muusika,'' ütles ema mu toast mööda kõndides, kui kuulasin seda plaati.

Doctor Who

Doctor Who on briti sci-fi teleseriaal, mis sai alguse aastal 1963 ning kestis esialgu kuni 1989. aastani, moodustades nii 26 hooaega (pluss üks film aastal 1996). Sari toodi tagasi teleekraanile aastal 2005. Praegu on käimas 33. hooaeg (uutest hooaegadest 7.). Sari on loodud Sydney Newman'i, C. E. Webber'i ja Donald Wilson'i poolt. Seriaalil on olnud läbi aastate kümneid produtsente ja direktoreid, kuid praegused produtsendid on Steven Moffat ja Caroline Skinner. Doctor Who sisuks on ajalordi, inimese välimusega tulnuka, kes on tuntud nime all Doctor, seiklustest. Ta rändab mööda kosmost ja ajaruumi oma ajamasina-kosmoselaeva T.A.R.D.I.S.'ega, mis on lühend nimest Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see To most people, the words tourist and traveler have the same meaning - a person visiting a foreign country to see what it has to offer. However, for people in the travel community these titles may have vastly different meanings. For many, when hearing the word tourist, a stereotypical picture comes to mind: a person with cargo shorts, a hawaiian shirt, a huge hat and sunglasses with a camera around their neck and map in hand. That is rather common amongst tourists, wearing what’s comfortable and they’d wear at home and not putting much effort into blending in. Their trips are usually planned to the T, leaving no room for any spontaneous adventures that might come up along the way. They tend to only see the ‘must see’ tourist attractions, stay in a good hotels overall sticking to all the amenities that are similar to home. A traveller however is diffe...

A short story

Today was one of those days where everything went wrong. I had prepared myself for a job interview for a long time because I wanted that job so much. One day before the interview I set the alarm clock at 7.00am, so that I would have enough time to get ready. The interview started at 9.00am. I woke up in the morning because I heard a door bell and wondered who could come so early. I saw my neighbour standing at the door holding a newspaper. ,,You always come at 8 o'clock. What are you doing here so early?" I asked. She raised her eyebrows, felt really confused and said she had come as usual. I glanced at my watch and understood that my alarm clock hadn't rang. My job interview would start in one hour and I had to hurry on a bus. Half an hour later I was in the bus station and felt relieved because I had still 5 minutes until my bus came. So I waited and looked at the timetable and saw that the bus drove every working day except that day....

Film review “Scent of a Woman“ 1992 by Martin Brest

Film review "Scent of a Woman" 1992 by Martin Brest Scent of a Woman is the story of Frank Slade, a blind, retired army colonel who hires Charlie Simms, a poor college student on the verge of expulsion, to take care of him over Thanksgiving weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, Frank takes Charlie to New York, where he reveals to the student that he intends to visit his family, have a few terrific meals, sleep with a beautiful woman and, finally, commit suicide. Over the weekend, as they learn about life through their series of adventures, they start trusting eachother. Two absolute favourite scenes: The first is in the New York ballroom where the blind Lt. Colonel teaches a lady to dance the tango. It is so smooth and dramatic that even a couch potato is tempted to dance along. The second and most profound is the speech that Al Pacino makes in defense of Charlie at the prep school disciplinary hearing. It has to go down as...

Robinson Crusoe
