Esimesel päeval tundus mulle, et ma ei saa hakkama, kuna harjumine uue kohaga ja uute inimestega võttis aega. Inimesed, kellega ma koos töötasin olid kõik tegelikult väga sõbralikud. Praktikal õpetati mulle, kuidas tehakse parimaid kondiitri tooteid ja ka palju teisi huvitavaid ja põnevaid toitude valmistamise võimalusi. Kogemusi praktikal olles sain väga palju. Esialgu sõideti nahkpaatidega mööda Emajõe jõgesid-järvi ja rannikumerd. Laevaühendus mere- ja siseveesadamate ei ole Eestis paraku olnud kunagi võimalik: Takistuseks on Peipsit merega ühendava Narva jõe kärestikud ning Euroopa võimsamaite sekka kuuluv kosk. Emajõgi on meie pikim laevatatav jõgi. Emajõe kogupikkuseks on 100 kilomeetrit ja langust Võrtsjärvest Peipsini on 3,5m. Tartu asub täpselt jõe keskjooksul . Laevatamist Emajõe veeteel segas Kärevere sildade ehitamine, mis konstruktsiooni vea tõttu juba samal aastal kokku varises. Pärast Teist Maailmasõda tehti Emajõel veeteel ulatuslikke kaevamisi. Laevasõidule probleemsetest Kärevere ja Muuga kärestikest rajati 1955.a mööda sirged kanalid. Pärast sõda oli vaja Tartu linn uuesti üles ehitada, selle käigus hakkas linn aga hoogsalt laienema. Moodi läksid betoonehitised ning metsamaterjalide asemel hakati üha enam vedama liiva ja kruusa. Tartust allavoolu Emajõe

Enne neid aastaid kasutati sõna "Pop" kui populaarne muusika, mis oli rohkem üldistus. Popp- muusikaks peeti pehmemat alternatiivi rock´n´rollile.
