A third area of commonality among dominant parties is their power to access state resources and control key media organizations with respect to maintain their position. It has been noted (Peregudov 2009: 48), that the most noticeable changes in the partyparliamentary system in contemporary Russia concern the actions by the leadership of United Russia to expand its public ties and contacts outside bureaucratic structures. Without a doubt, United Russia has often been used as a channel for patronage, material benefits and influencing policy. Belonging to the dominant party gives legislators numerous opportunities to gain access to money and influence. Therefore, once the legislation has reached the floor for a vote, members of United Russia seldom stand against the party's position (Remington 2008: 214). Since becoming the first party in the State Duma, United Russia has given its members new institutional resources with which to accommodate their need to serve particularistic interests

period 14001600 led to major changes in styles of composing, methods of disseminating music, new musical genres, and the development of musical instruments. The most important music of the early Renaissance was composed for use by the church--polyphonic (made up of several simultaneous melodies) masses and motets in Latin for important churches and court chapels. By the end of the sixteenth century, however, patronage was split among many areas: the Catholic Church, Protestant churches and courts, wealthy amateurs, and music printing-- all were sources of income for composers. Literature Printing press: William Caxton was the person who introduced printing in England. Before that, the books were written out in longhand, what meant a very slow jog. With the printing , it was possible to produce books in large numbers and in a short amoun of time. That way, more people could learn to read and write

Elizabeth, during the last years of her reign, came to rely on granting monopolies as a cost-free system of patronage rather than ask Parliament for more subsidies in a time of war. This same period of economic and political uncertainty, however, produced an unsurpassed literary flowering in England. The first signs of a new literary movement had appeared at the end of the second decade of Elizabeth's reign, with John Lyly's Euphues and Edmund Spenser's The The notion of a great Elizabethan age Shepheardes Calender in 1578

The Chinese on the other hand, control how America eats. Even in the movies, you always see the actors or actresses, ordering one form of Chinese food or another. Africans spend a lot of money eating or ordering Chinese foods. Our African Missions to the United Nations, Embassies in Washington and all the African Consulates General spend millions of dollars eating Chinese food a year. I have never seen a Chinese going to an African restaurant to reciprocate our patronage. The Chinese also control how America keeps its wardrobe clean. The question really is how could Africa have millions of educated men and women, yet have to import experts in all fields to manage areas of economic development, engineering and others for which Africans had gone to the same school. All this is due to the shallowness of our “education,” a non- commitment to the study of knowledge for the benefits of the people, rather than a study on how we
He walked for seven days and had very little luck getting food or shelter from people in the towns he went through. He sat with bleeding feet on a doorstep one morning when a curious looking young gentleman around his age began talking to him. His name was Jack Dawkins He befriended Oliver and asked if he was going to London. Oliver told him he was and explained that he did not know where he would be staying. Mr. Dawkins told Oliver he could come with him and with his patronage stay with a gentleman he knew. So Oliver went with Jack and saw the filth of London for the first time in the middle of the night. Jack took Oliver into the house of the gentleman and he met the old Jew, Fagin. Fagin fed him and introduced him to the other boys sitting him in the room who, like Mr. Dawkins, were dressed like little adults. They were drinking spirits and smoking pipes and Oliver joined them. Fagin gave him a bed to sleep in and he went to sleep.
