But is it really the best policy? It isn´t always easy to remain totally honest in difficult situations. We have all lied to our close friends and parents, just for our own good. "About a boy" Review This film is about a saying: "No man is an island," but the main character Will seems to think otherwise because he is always alone and he enjoys it. Eventually he meets some new people and realizes that he was wrong and that it is better to be honest and surrounded by good people. No-one should be alone in life and fortunately Will no longer has to be. I liked the film because it was gripping and moving. It made me feel like the characters. It was also funny and a bit sad. I think the funniest part was when the old lady that was invited to spend Christmas with everyone else misunderstood almost everything that was said. It was a really sweet and innocent mistake.

In essence, she seemed to be unlikable as well as superficial. Shug (originally Lilly) didn’t really embrace herself and adopted a nickname – “Shug”. However she developed a sexual relationship with Celie and with that broke the boundaries of traditional gender roles. She was outspoken, exteremely honest and not easy to affect. All her three children were born out of wedlock. She is a good example of sexuality and gender not being as univocal and simplistic topics as they may seem since she was a bisexual (sexual relationship with Celie). Chaucer also writes that the hero was a perfect gentleman and everyone thought only good things about him. But then he says that the clothes the knight wore were dull and beneath the shiny armour he was a simple man like everyone else. Word processing versus handwriting Technology has definitely changed the way I write, in both quality and quantity. For me writing is more of a chore than an enjoyable activity. To be honest, I hate writing; essays, and assignments, even long e-mails sometimes bother me. When I sit down with my laptop to write an essay I look at the word processing screen and all I see is how much I haven't written and how much I have left to write. The task in front of me becomes more daunting and frustrating. I feel like when I write on the computer my words are chosen to simply fill a page. So we bacame true friends without knowing that we had known each other for many years already. We found out that our fathers are friends about two yeas ago, when they met each other in one of our competitons and later asked us if we knew that they used to work together. The thing I most like about Anette is her character. Our characters just fit together and we have almost nerver been in a fight. Anette is that kind of girl who tells you exactly what she thinks- honest. But she knows also that going too far could hurt people, so she knows when do stop. Anette is also very kind-hearted. I think she would do anything to keep everybody she loves happy and safe. I have seen Anette in her worst and best days, but i think that most people always see her smiling and cheerful.
