Lacrosse Lehesalu

Lehesalu Andres AT112 Lacrosse Lacrosse Lacrosse is a team sport of Native American origin played using a small rubber ball and a long-handled stick called a crosse or lacrosse stick, mainly played in the United States and Canada. It is a contact sport which requires padding such as shoulder pads, gloves, helmets, elbow pads, and sometimes even rib guards History Lacrosse, a relatively popular team sport in the Americas, may have developed as early as AD 1100. By the seventeenth century it was well- established and had been documented by Jesuit priests, although the game has undergone many modifications since that time. In the traditional aboriginal Canadian version, each team consisted of about 100 to 1,000 men on a field that stretched from about 500 meters to 3 kilometers long. These lacrosse games lasted from sunup to sundown for two to three days straight. These games were played as part of ceremonial ritual to give thanks to the maste

Introduction If you had to use two words to describe Canada, they might be large and diverse. Canada is the second largest country in the world, bordered by three oceans, and across the country, Canadians experience many different landscapes from rolling plains and mountains to the cold tundra of the north. Despite Canada's great size, it is one of the world's most sparsely populated countries. This fact, coupled with the grandeur of the landscape, has been central to the sense of Canadian national identity. 2. Geographical position Canada is the second largest country in the world after Russia. In the Arctic, Canada reaches almost as far north as Greenland.

Sports. Sports has a very old history. The ancient Olympic Games were the first big sports competitions. The history of the Olympic Games is linked with many myths referred to in ancient sources, but in the historic years their founder is said to be Oxylos whose descendant Ifitos later rejuvenated the Games. According to the tradition, the Olympic Games began in 776 B.C. when Ifitos made a treaty with Lycourgos the king and famous legislator of Sparta and Cleisthenes the king of Pissa. In this treaty that was the decisive event for the development of the sanctuary as a Panhellenic centre, the "sacred truce" was agreed. That is to say ceasing of fighting in all of the Freek world for as long as the Olympic Games were on. The Olympic Games were held, after the completion of four years during the month of July or August. The time between two competitions was called the Olympiad. In the beginning the games last

Käsipalli ajalugu

Käsipall ehk väravpall on võistkondlik pallimäng. Ajalugu Käsipalli leiutajaks peetakse taanlast Holger Nielsenit, kes Ordrupi reaalkooli õpetajana mängis 1898. aastal õpilastega mängu, mida nimetas käsipalliks. Juba kuus aastat varem mängiti Tsehhoslovakkias kooliinspektor Josef Klenkeri koostatud sportmängu, mis sarnanes käsipalliga. 1928. aastal asutati Rahvusvaheline Käsipalliföderatsioon (International Amateur Handball Federation, IAHF), 1946. aastal anti talle nimeks International Handball Federation (IHF). Praegu on alaliidul 150 liikmesriiki. Neli aastat
