Why are people ingnoring evironmental issues

Of course, if people would want to, they would make time to care, but the truth is that people are lazy and convenient. Taking some action to help solve the environmental issues, even if it is only a small thing, means change. People usually do not like change and stepping out of their comfort-zone, it might seem as too much trouble and work for them. In conclusion there are many reasons why it might seem that people do not care about environmental issues, but actually they are more like excuses. People have their own problems to solve and do not tend to do anything for the greater good. It is in the human nature to be selfish.

be able to control it. In my opinion, developed countries have separated themselves from nature and by our actions we tend to harm it as well. Our thoughts should not be focusing on what is beneficial to us, but also to what is beneficial to the environment we live in. There is no other creature on planet Earth more developed than human. We are not wild anymore, we are the controllers of this planet. We have more opportunities, but we have to be responsible as well as there are no excuses to our behaviour. Our accomplishments are big and hopefully in the future we are able to archive even more.

of people admitted to penitentiaries. One in all we have to dwelve into the mind of a criminal and find out what makes a felon tick. What forces an individual to commit crimes against others? Are we too humane and lenient? When looking for the reasons why people commit crimes I can only say what I believe to be sure of, and it is that individuals go against laws because they choose so, as criminal behaviour is a matter of choice. Today, there are many excuses cloaked as reasons for criminal behaviour. The misguided nature of these assertions has a serious impact upon crime control strategies. The classical approach holds people to choose freely among alternatives in behaviour. In this view, the perpetrator plans his or her actions before carrying them out. The social environment in which the person is amidst of, is a key factor in causes of criminal behaviour, with weak or broken bonds to family, school, and religion being the

Asher is a bit childish, fooling around a lot and does not have precision of language,as he usually mixes up words and doesn't get phrases correct, like when he was a three, and mixed up snack with the word "smack", recieving many blows of the "discipline wand" on his hand. This resulted in a silent Asher for a while, but after a whle he learned and began to talk with greater precision. Asher is usually late for school, and uses multiple excuses to explain this. 12. What is Lily's ,,comfort object"? What will happen to it when Lily turns to Eight? Why does the author say it's an imaginary creature? Comfort objects are stuffed animals that are given to children when they are born to help them fall asleep. Lily's comfort object in The Giver is an elephant. These comfort objects were usually soft, stuffed and imaginary animals.

In front of Cohn, she tells Jake that Cohn has paid her two hundred pounds to go to England but that she had to wrangle it out of him. In a falsely cheerful manner, she bitterly describes the unpleasant visits to "friends" in England she will have to make, just so Cohn can get rid of her in an orderly manner. She claims that Cohn won't marry her because he wants to tell people that he once had a mistress. Cohn sits through her barrage. Jake excuses himself and leaves them alone. Summary: Chapter VII Couldn't we live together, Brett? Couldn't we just live together? (See Important Quotations Explained) Jake returns home, and Brett and Count Mippipopolous show up. certain party. The British Press is controlled by a rather small number of extremely large multinational companies. This fact helps to explain two notable features. 1. One is the absolute freedom of speech an interference from government. The Press is so powerful in this respect that its sometimes referred to as " the fourth estate" 2. Second is the shallowness. Apart from sports the papers are full of little except stories of famous people and big headlines used as excuses to publish pictures of naked people. This has led to discussion about the possible need to ristrict the freedom of the press. This is because, in behaving this way, the press has found itself in conflict with the right to privacy. Complaints regarding invasion of privacy are dealt with by the Press Complaints Commission (PCC). - In other words the press regulates itself. You want to succeed in creating wealth, join Wall Street. Don’t make excuses that Blacks don’t know how to invest their money. Go after the Caucasians. Use their guilt to your advantage. Another important point which I raised in this book concern the long study I have conducted regarding the economic behaviour of East Indians and Pakistanis. It is an economic doctrine I have christened the “Spider Web Doctrine,” because I believe we all understand how spiders behave. Thank you, Tera! To all girls who were at Cross Creek at some point in your adolescence: May all your dreams come true. You deserve it. And to Alistair and Jessica, from Seven Years to Sin , who inspired me to write Gideon and Eva's story. I'm so glad the inspiration struck twice! 1 "We should head to a bar and celebrate." I wasn't surprised by my roommate's emphatic pronouncement. Cary Taylor found excuses to celebrate, no matter how small and inconsequential. I'd always considered it part of his charm. "I'm sure drinking the night before starting a new job is a bad idea." "Come on, Eva." Cary sat on our new living room floor amid a half-dozen moving boxes and flashed his winning smile. We'd been unpacking for days, yet he still looked amazing. Leanly built, dark-haired, and green-eyed, Cary was a man who rarely looked anything less than absolutely gorgeous on any day of his life

I h a d not been inside those meeting rooms where the decisions were taken about the writers, the stories, and the movies made from them. Power flows in those rooms like hot lava, and until I worked at Fox 2 0 0 0 I had only heard it rumbling. Now I was standing hip deep in it. It was the most adult environment I had ever been in, run on unspoken but rigorous principles of personal responsibility. N o whining allowed, no excuses. And the same fierce intensity was applied to the stories. Every concept, every comment, every suggestion had to pass the most stringent tests of common sense, logic, and show business instinct. I had the good fortune to work with some of the best story brains in the business, foremost among them being Fox 2 0 0 0 ' s founder Laura Ziskin, but also many talented executives, writers, directors, and producers. I had fish marinating for dinner, with a salad and bread left over from the night before, so there was nothing to do there. I spent a focused half hour on homework, but then I was through with that, too. I checked my e-mail, reading the backlog of letters from my mother, getting snippier as they progressed to the present. I sighed and typed a quick response. Mom, Sorry. I've been out. I went to the beach with some friends. And I had to write a paper. My excuses were fairly pathetic, so I gave up on that. It's sunny outside today - I know, I'm shocked, too - so I'm going to go outside and soak up as much vitamin D as I can. I love you, Bella. I decided to kill an hour with non-school-related reading. I had a small collection of books that came with me to Forks, the shabbiest volume being a compilation of the works of Jane Austen. I selected that one and headed to the backyard, grabbing a ragged old quilt from the linen cupboard at the top of the

Had Elizabeth been at leisure to be idle, she would have remained certain that all employment was impossible to one so wretched as herself; but she had her share of business as well as her aunt, and amongst the rest there were notes to be written to all their friends at Lambton, with false excuses for their sudden departure. An hour, however, saw the whole completed; and Mr. Gardiner meanwhile having settled his account at the inn, nothing remained to be done but to go; and Elizabeth, after all the misery of the morning, found herself, in a shorter space of time than she could have supposed, seated in the carriage, and on the road to Longbourn. Although the settings are quite different, the surveyed fraternities refused to allow civic activities into their initiation ceremonies for the same reason that the Chinese withheld large prizes in favor of less powerful inducements: They wanted the participants to own what they had done. No excuses, no ways out were allowed. A pledge who suffered through an arduous hazing could not be given the chance to believe he did so for charitable purposes. A prisoner who salted his political essay with anti-American comments could not be permitted to shrug it off as motivated by a big reward.
