Roger Waters

Roger Waters Amused to death Ma valisin selle albumi selle pärast, et mind huvitab väga vanema aja muusika üleüldiselt. See album koosneb väga rahustavast muusikast. Vähemalt nii mõjus mulle. Väga huvitava tämbriga vokaal on sellel bändil.

Story about English Humor

Unbelievable how selfish and rude they are! And no-one can do anything about that. If they say so then all the people around them have to act like they wish. They are absolutely innocently taking the advantage of other innocent people. Certainly we cannot talk about all disabled people from that point of view, but the exception affirms the rule. And in Britain, you can find a lot of exceptions. The second thing which also amused me was the humiliation of other people for unjustified reasons. The scene of a transsexual lady, feeling sick and puking in the teacup was a perfect example of humiliation in nowadays just in different context. It is a real problematic topic every single country and it only gets worse. Actually it is quite sad that people are only laughing at it, ignoring the problem whether they see it or not. But as to look from the other side then it is good that even if people haven't

signals, such as voice sounds, gestures, or written symbols. Communication or language is a process every child learns from birth and during our life we will usually learn many different languages. Due to the fact that both of my parents are Estonians , my mother tongue is Estonian, therefore I can speak and write in it very fluently. I also prefer read the books in Estonian. I know that some people like to do it in some other languages, in English for instance. I am really amused by the Estonian literature. I like to read books and stories from Andrus Kivirähk and F.R. Kreutzwald. English is one of the world most spoken language. You can hear it everywhere, no matter which part of the world are you in. In the third grade of elementary scool I started to learn English as a second language so since then i have learned it for nine years and i have reached the level of B2, like all the poeple in Estonia who have finished the high school. English literature of the 14th, 15th century

of Bath (a widow from Bath), the Innkeeper. At first, each pilgrim was to tell two stories on the way to Canterbury and two on the way back; the innkeeper would give a good meal and a night at the inn to the best storyteller. Altogether 144 stories, GC only managed to write 24 before his death. It is studied as a faithful reflection of 14th century life in England. GC was amused by his own characters and rarely criticises them sharply; shows a very deep understanding of human motivation. His comments reveal his profound understanding of the social problem of his day. o The Prologue paints the setting of the story. Introduces each character (30). GC himself functions as the narrator. He tries to be objective and tries to keep a distance from the characters

E-raamatute kasutamine ja ajalugu

I thought that today's students are so related to technology, that they would not respect the old traditions anymore. It appears, however, that i overestimated my knowledge. Currently, e-books aren't that popular yet, but it seems that everything in today's digital world is achieving success extremely fast. However, it's not expected that the paper books will be disappearing any time soon. Of course, the book, that has been with the man kind for centuries and amused them, will not be giving up to something, that has only been existing for a few decades. Valga's High School students are generally aware of the changes in today's world, including the changes and achievements of e-book.Majority of students are interested in e-books - they are new and interesting, even though in reality they are just simple text files. With the responses i received from the survey, i can confidently say that printed books will not be disappearing any time soon.

ENGLISH TOPICS - palju teemasid inglise keele riigieksami kordamiseks

She is terribly quick and strong. It's a pleasure to watch her playing basket-ball: while others are hopping about in the air she always gets under their feet and grabs the ball. I don't like people who are bored at everything and who never make the slightest effort to be pleasant. That's why my friend is Lena, the most amusing person in the world. She thinks everything is funny -- even flunking an exam. Lena is a sunny soul by nature and always takes the slightest excuse to be amused. My friend has an imagination and her own style. Usually she writes nice compositions and once even won short-story contest that our school wallpaper holds every year. Lena and me are good friends. We help each other a lot and try not to quarrel. But when sometimes it comes to quarrelling we try to make it up at once. Questions: 1. How old is Lena? 2. Does she wear spectacles? Describe her appearance. 3. Does she do well at school? 4. What unbreakable rule has she? 5

Her discourse deliberately shifts from very sharp or merely amused criticism to empathy and admiration. away. "Am I wrong?" I tried to ignore him. "I didn't think so," he murmured smugly. "Why does it matter to you?" I asked, irritated. I kept my eyes away, watching the teacher make his rounds. "That's a very good question," he muttered, so quietly that I wondered if he was talking to himself. However, after a few seconds of silence, I decided that was the only answer I was going to get. I sighed, scowling at the blackboard. "Am I annoying you?" he asked. He sounded amused. I glanced at him without thinking... and told the truth again. "Not exactly. I'm more annoyed at myself. My face is so easy to read -- my mother always calls me her open book." I frowned. "On the contrary, I find you very difficult to read." Despite everything that I'd said and he'd guessed, he sounded like he meant it. "You must be a good reader then," I replied. "Usually." He smiled widely, flashing a set of perfect, ultrawhite teeth. some hours of the morning with the invalid, who continued, though slowly, to mend; and in the evening Elizabeth joined their party in the drawing-room. The loo-table, however, did not appear. Mr. Darcy was writing, and Miss Bingley, seated near him, was watching the progress of his letter and repeatedly calling off his attention by messages to his sister. Mr. Hurst and Mr. Bingley were at piquet, and Mrs. Hurst was observing their game. Elizabeth took up some needlework, and was sufficiently amused in attending to what passed between Darcy and his companion. The perpetual commendations of the lady, either on his handwriting, or on the evenness of his lines, or on the length of his letter, with the perfect unconcern with which her praises were received, formed a curious dialogue, and was exactly in union with her opinion of each. "How delighted Miss Darcy will be to receive such a letter!" He made no answer. "You write uncommonly fast." "You are mistaken. I write rather slowly."

that. Maybe if we hadn't just had mind-blowing sex, I would have felt less raw and vulnerable. I'd never know. What I felt was slightly dirty, a little bit used, and a whole lot hurt. This particular revelation had hit me with excruciating force, and like a child, I wanted to hurt him back. I scooped up the condoms, lube, and toys, and tossed them on the bed. Then, just as he called out my name in an amused and teasing voice, I picked up my bag and left him. 10 I kept my head down as I made the walk of shame past the registration desk and exited the hotel through a side door. He had to know what Gideon reserved that room for. I couldn't stand the thought of being the next in a line of

Some of the things you will learn in THE CODEBREAKERS • How secret Japanese messages were decoded in Washington hours before Pearl Harbor. • How German codebreakers helped usher in the Russian Revolution. • How John F. Kennedy escaped capture in the Pacific because the Japanese failed to solve a simple cipher. • How codebreaking determined a presidential election, convicted an underworld syndicate head, won the battle of Midway, led to cruel Allied defeats in North Africa, and broke up a vast Nazi spy ring. • How one American became the world's most famous codebreaker, and another became the world's greatest. • How codes and codebreakers operate today within the secret agencies of the U.S. and Russia. • And incredibly much more. of emotions, including abject terror. The needle taps on my spine, done to elicit additional growth factor release, sounded like small scratches on a blackboard. Less than an hour later, I watched on in perverse amusement (the cumulative anesthetic of 10+ shots helped) as a syringe inserted in one side of my left ankle began to dance underneath the skin on the opposite side like a chest-popping fetus from Aliens. It then poked through the skin, and I was less amused. Not a party trick you want to show your patients. We used everything but the kitchen sink. The most potent of the chemical cocktails was a hybrid. It combined the ingredients used on the knees of an Olympic skier with the ingredients used on one sprinter who'd torn his Achilles tendon eight weeks prior to the world championships. The latter ended up winning a gold medal. The final Frankenstein elixir was serious business. It included:

The look of amused bewilderment that immediately registers tells the story: Even though both hands are in the same bucket, the hand that has been in the cold water feels as if it is now in hot water, while the one that was in the hot water feels as if it is now in cold water. The point is that the same thing-in this instance, room- temperature water-can be made to seem very different depending on the nature of the event that precedes it.

Christopher Vogler The Writers Journey

Straightening out the curves of the circle created sharp, 90-degree turns at the quarter points and revealed the drastic changes that may occur in the hero's objectives. Each straight line represents the hero's aim in that act — to escape the constraints of the ordinary world, to survive in a strange land, to win the boon and escape the strange land, to return home safely with something to share that revives the world. PREFACE I was amused to realize I had just drawn a baseball diamond (in reverse.) I've often felt that the layout of game-playing fields produces patterns that overlap with the design of the Hero's Journey. Baseball can be read as another metaphor of life, with the base runner as the hero making his way around the stages of the journey. Perhaps the best way to explore the endless possibilities o f the Hero's Journey is to apply it to a number o f films or stories. To that end M i c h a e l W i e s e
