Essay about my family

ESSAY about my family Everyone has his own definition of what is a family. The meaning of a family is different to every one of us. I think that the family in this point of view is one of the most important things in our life. If you have someone who can do everything for you and you can do the same you are lucky you have a family. I might say that I'm lucky. My lovely family consists of fourth members: mother, father, brother and me. I'm the youngest member in my family. We have pure love and affection for one another. My father live in Finland but he visit us once in a month and he stays here a couple of days. Mother, brother and I live in Anne street. My mother is the most important person in my life. She had done everything that I and my brother will have an amazing life. She only wants the best for us! My brother is four years older than me

Da Vinci kood sisukokkuvõte ja tegelaste kirjeldus

,,Da Vinci kood" Dan Brown Sisukokkuvõte Sisu tänapäevane osa hõlmab 24 tunni jooksul toimuvaid sündmusi, peamiselt Pariisis, Londonis ja Sotimaal. Harvardi Ülikooli professor Robert Langdon ja Sophie Neveu (koodide salasõnumite analüüsile spetsialiseerunud detektiiv) aitavad lahendada Jacques Saunière'i, Pariisi Louvre'i muuseumi kuraatori kummalise mõrva saladust.

The Best Grandfather

The Best Grandfather My grandfather was good-humoured and warm man. He was always sweet and kind to me. I think he should be as a rolemodel to every man in the world. He was the person who taught me to play piano, to make pancakes and I even learned from him how to swim. My grandfather was always there for me and gave me the perfect advice that I needed. He was there with me at every event that was important for me, for example he was there listening to my every piano concert although I know that these were always very boring for him. I remember him sitting on the couch, listening to the radio and thoughtfully, quiatly solving the crossword. He was very good at these, because he was incredibly smart. At that time he was the smartest person that I knew. When I was little, once he won from the crossword 100 kroons and I remember that he bought me an ice-cream. That day it seemed to me that ice- cream had never been so sweet and delicious. I will foreve

VOCABULARY EXERCISES UNIT 5 II Exercise Learning to operate a computer is not as difficult as many people think. Computers can be expensive to buy, but you can often get comprehensive packages containing all the equipment you need at a discount from big companies. Some companies will even install the system for you. Your system will also include various kinds of software such as word- processing and game programmes, all stored on disks. When you put the disk into the computer, the programme or information can be displayed on the screen. Many computer users go on the Internet. This is a system that links computers, making it possible to transmit information from one system to another in a different place via the telephone. This can cause problems, because addicts who use their computers all the time can overload the phone circuits meaning that other people cannot make ordinary phone calls. III Exercise 1. Fay Weldon an English author, essayist and playwright Early life § Fay Weldon was supposed to be born in New Zealand, but instead was born in England in 1931. At 5 weeks old she and her mother returned to New Zealand. § Her father was a doctor and her mother was a writer of commercial fiction under the pen name "Pearl Bellairs", among others. Her parents divorced when she was five. She lived with her mother, sister and grandmother until she started college and, as a result, grew up believing "the world was peopled by females". This problably influenced her works too. § She returned to England with her mother and studied economics and psychology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. § Her actual christened name was "Franklin Birkinshaw". which she feels contributed to her being accepted at St Andrews and permitted to study economics: the school assumed she was a male student applicant.

This all begins to fall apart though as ignorance and racism clash as Meena encounters first hand how hurtful racism and ignorance can be and she struggles to understand the relationships between people and their ideas. For instance, Anita starts to go out with Sam after her mother left the family. The boy is the head of the motocycle gang and despises coloured people. There had been even rumours about him and the boys that they beat an Indian guy to death. Not only did she have to struggle with the problems with racism, but also with the idea of having a baby brother. This all was too much for her. artists and Elton John reached #3, preceded by Madonna and The Beatles. Then they moved to a nearby semi-detached house. He was educated at Pinner Country Grammar School until the age of 15, before pursuing a career in the music industry. When John began to seriously consider a career in music, his father tried to steer him toward a more conventional career such as banking. He has stated that his wild stage costumes and performances were his way of letting go after such a restrictive childhood. Both of John's parents were musically inclined, his father having been a trumpet player with a semi-professional big band that played military dances. The Dwights were avid record buyers, exposing John to all the popular singers and musicians of the day

King George V maintained this custom during his lifetime, but King Edward VIII abolished it on his accession in 1936. Sandringham was the setting for some dramatic events. Queen Victoria did not pay her first visit to Sandringham until 1871, when the Prince of Wales suffered an attack of typhoid fever (the illness of which his father had died) while staying there. Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like. Ofcourse I have seen it, it's all around me, but only seeing and seeing plus thinking through what you see are two really different things. An example: have you ever been to a funeral of a collateral relative as a child? Do you remember what you felt? I remember I felt almost nothing and I never cried. When someone died, for example

As the son of a grocer and grandson of a serf, Chekhov was a first-generation intellectual. His modest background and upbringing are crucial to his development as a writer. Chekhov always felt that he missed out on childhood. It was a very hard lifeand it may have contributed to his poor health: he succumbed later on to the"family disease", tuberculosis, which led to his early death at the age of 44.His mother was a quiet, gentle soul who was full of stories of her early life. In later years, Chekhov would say that "we inherited our talent from our father, but mother gave us soul". The other great passion of his formative years was nature, the Russiancountryside. As a port, Taganrog was surrounded on all sides by the landscapes of the Steppe and Chekhov's earliest stories reveal how intensely aware he was of his bond with the Don Steppe
