Inuit Culture

No trees grow in the tundra so houses can not be made from wood unless it is transported from elsewhere. However, during a large part of the year, the cold part, there is a lot of snow in the tundra. And it turns out that snow can be a very good construction material. In the winter, Inuit lived in round houses made from blocks of snow called "igloos". In the summer, when the snow melted, Inuit lived in tent-like huts made of animal skins stretched over a frame. Although most Inuit people today live in the same community year-round, and live in homes built of other construction materials that have to be imported, in the past Inuit would migrate between a summer and winter camp which was shared by several families. Getting Around To travel from one place to another, Inuit used sleds made of animal bones and skins pulled over the snow and ice by dogs. Strong dogs with thick fur like huskies, bred by Inuit, were used. On

grown on the African oil palm tree. Oil palms are originally from Western Africa, but can flourish wherever heat and rainfall are abundant. Today, palm oil is grown throughout Africa, Asia, North America, and South America, with 85% of all palm oil globally produced and exported from Indonesia and Malaysia; but most of the time not using sustainable measures. The industry is linked to major issues such as deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of the oil palm plantations. According to the World Wildlife Fund, an area the equivalent size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour to make way for palm oil production. This large-scale deforestation is pushing many species to extinction, and findings show that if nothing hanges, species like the

Sloths move only when necessary and even then very slowly : they can move at a marginally higher speed if they are in immediate danger from a predator (4.5 m or 15 feet per minute), but they burn large amounts of energy doing so. They may eat insects, small lizards, and carrion, but their diet consists mostly of buds, tender shoots, and leaves, mainly of Cecropia trees. It lives about 30 years long. Sloth moves very slow , thats why they are called a lazy animal. On the ground their maximum speed is 0.54 meters per second (1.2 mph).

Ways of using the money to benefit the environment and the..

To: Mark Clooney From: Marju Villmann Subject: Ways of using the money to benefit the environment and the local community. Date: 15th December Purpose The purpose of this proposal is to make recommendations regarding the best ways to use the money to benefit the environment and the local community. Local concerns It would be a good idea to put money on animal pounds. This would mean that people can walk on streets without frightening homeless animals. One another suggestion would be to use this money to arrange parks and children's playgrounds. In this way, there will be a good place where to walk and play. Moreover, children could play in a protected place. Another good solution would be to buy christmas decorations. By doing this, the city will be beautiful and people will always be in a good mood and they also will be happier. Conclusion

Endangered Animals

Every year, more and more animals are facing extinction. In order to protect endangered species, what can we about this problem? One way of solving the problem is to protect wildlife habitats as the best way to protect endangered species is to protect the places they live in. In addition to this, wildlife must have a place to find food and shelter from the weather. Logging, oil and gas drilling, over-grazing and real estate development have all resulted in the destruction of these habitats, which must be minimized as much as possible. Another way to solve the problem is to stop buying products that are made from animal skin. The lack of demand would result in hunters being unable to continue their business. Finally, it is important to pay attention when driving. One of the problems in developed areas is that roads divide habitats, meaning they are a constant hazard to not only themselves, but to the people driving on those roads ...

How can we make our cities more environmentally friendly?

If we improved public transport or made electric cars, our streets wouldn't be so polluted. In Tallinn, for example, the air there is so polluted, that you can hardly breathe there. If the authorities put bins everywhere in the streets, our cities would be cleaner. The second thing is, that people still drop litter on the ground, even if there is a bin somewhere nearby. If we didn't build so much houses all around cities, we could save money from that and better build animal parks, green areas and playgrounds for children. If there were more green areas, people would have more oxygen. All in all, we must understand the importance of oxygen and where must litter go, then we could have better atmosphere and people wouldn't be worried about their health.

The country of my dreams

The country of my dreams The counrty of my dreams is Australia. It lies in the Southern Hempishere between the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean. One of the resones why i like Australia is its nature. It is recognized as a megadiverse counrty. Its isolation from other continets explains much of the strangeness of its animal and plant life. There are a lot of interesting animals like kangaroos, koalas and wombats and birds like emus and kookaburras. Australia is a highly developed country. It has the sixth largest per capita income in the world. It is said that Melbourne is the world's most liveable cities. Another reason why Australia appeals fo me, is its beautiful beaches and climate. Winters are mils and summers are hot and sunny. Australia's beaches are always full of surfers, and one

Should Cloning Be Banned ? essee

the subject of public debate. For some people, human cloning is acceptable in medicine in spite of the criticism that it is repulsive. Firstly, cloning the organs can save many lives. For example when a person needs an organ and can not find a donor, doctors could just give her the cloned organ. People would not need to donate their organs anymore. Secondly, parents who can not have children may wish to clone a child for themselves. Also endangered animal or plants could be cloned to rise their species. On the other hand, there are also many arguments againts cloning. Most cloned animals suffer severe medical issues and many die prematurely. The same problems would happen in human cloning and many scientists consider human cloning to be dangerous and irresponsible. Scientist have no idea of the long-time effects of genetic engineering. All things considered, I'm against human cloning, whereas i do not mind the cloning of human organs and plants
