Olles vangis, kirjutas kuningas 1791. aastal Asutava Kogu koostatud konstitutsioonile. Sellega kehtestati Prantsusmaal konstitutsiooniline monarhia. Valmy all kohtas neid segasõjavägi prantsuse regulaararmee sõduritest ja vabatahtlikest revolutsionääridest. Selle lahingu võitsid prantslased, kelle regulaararmee suurtükid pommitasid vaenlast, kuni ta seisma jäi. Sellele lahingule järgnes edu Madalmaades, kus teine prantsuse sõjavägi sai jagu austrialastest Jemappes lahingus. 1793

Born in Poland in 1473, it was the humble astronomer Nicholas Copernicus (14731543) who challenged the geocentrism of Ptolemy with his own heliocentric universe. Ptolemy would never recover neither would the Christian matrix. Copernicus studied mathematics at Cracow and managed to obtain a law degree from Bologna as well. In 1500 he was in Rome where he witnessed a lunar eclipse. The following year he studied medicine at Padua and in 1505 he left Italy for Prussia. By 1512 he was settled in Prussia where he not only observed the movement of the heavenly bodies but also worked in various capacities as a bailiff, military governor, judge, tax collector, physician and reformer of the coinage. He was an untypical man, an exceptional man .
Latvia, and the southern half of modern Estonia), driving the Swedes into Finland. In 1714 the Russian fleet won the Battle of Gangut. Most of Finland was occupied by the Russians. In 1716 and 1717, the Tsar revisited the Netherlands and went to see Herman Boerhaave. He continued his travel to the Austrian Netherlands and France. Peter obtained the assistance of the Electorate of Hanover and the Kingdom of Prussia. The Tsar's navy was powerful enough that the Russians could penetrate Sweden. Still, Charles XII refused to yield, and not until his death in battle in 1718 did peace become feasible. After the battle near Åland, Sweden made peace with all powers but Russia by 1720. In 1721 the Treaty of Nystad ended the Great Northern War. Russia acquired Ingria, Estonia, Livonia, and a substantial portion of Karelia. In turn, Russia paid two million Riksdaler and surrendered most of Finland
to restore the family to the throne. After his father's death Charles was recognised as Charles III by his supporters; his opponents referred to him as The Young Pretender. He failed to become the king of Great Britain as he was defeated by the Duke of Cumberland. *The War of the Austrian Succession 1740-1748 The war began under the pretext that Maria Theresa of Austria was ineligible to succeed to the throne, because the law precluded royal inheritance by a woman. Prussia and Austria fought for the German states. Austria was supported by Great Britain, Kingdom of Sardinia and Saxony. Prussia joined Franze, Spain and Bavaria. The war ended with the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle, which left the balance of the ppower undecided between England and France undecided. *The Seven Years War 1756-1763 It was a continuation of the War of the Austrian Succession. The war began with Frederick of Prussia's invasion of Saxony. The British
The Secret Office was quartered in three rooms adjoining the Foreign Office and entered privately from Abchurch Lane. Fire and candles burned constantly in one room; the staff lodged in the others. It included men who made their life's work the specialty of unsealing diplomatic packets with such, deftness that they could be resealed without evidence of tampering; one such opener was J. E. Bode, father of John Bode, Jr. He regularly spent three hours on the dispatches of the King of Prussia, opening them and then re-sealing them with special wax and carefully counterfeited seals. Perhaps surprisingly in a bastion of human rights, its interceptions enjoyed full legality. The statute of 1657 that established the postal service declared outright that the mails were the best means of discovering dangerous and wicked designs against the commonwealth. Leases of 1660 and 1663, confirmed by the Post Office Act of 1711, permitted government officials to open
