My Children Deserve the Best Childhood Ever Hi! I am 35 years old. I live with my husband and we have two kids: Oliver and Merilin. Oliver is 10 years old and Merilin is 7 years old. Before getting these two kids, me and my husband used to live in a flat in the centre of the city. But when I get pregnant for the first time, we decided to move in a house in Nõmme. It's a beautiful place to live. My favourite, because I lived there when I was younger. It's also nice that we have a big backyard where our children can play and just spend time. Me and my husband can also spend good time there. We usually grill there or have parties with our friends. When Oliver and Merilin were young, about 2 years old, I never scream when they did something wrong because they're only children, they don't know anything about life and doing something right or wrong yet. When they grew up, went to school and sometimes got bad...
A memory of my childhood Elizabeth Grünbaum It was snowing outside and the bright winter sun shined into the room through the curtains. I woke up early that beautiful day, because there were guests coming over. Like in any other winter morning i rushed to the window sill to see if the dwarves have left something in my christmas stocking. I remember exactly, what was in there that day, it was kinder surprise. I liked kinder surprises a lot, because the chocolate would melt in your mouth and there was a surprise between the two halves of the chocolate. At 1 o'clock, the guests arrived. They were my grandparents. Guests brought pies made by grandma and a beautiful bunch of flowers since i'd just had my birthday a week before. Mother asked me to take out a vase to put the flowers in the water. So i did and i climbed on top of a chair to grab my favourite vase with blue flowers on i...
My childhood story Whenever I think about my childhood, one story comes to my mind. A story I am proud of. It’s about how I helped my one year older brother when he got stung by a bee. It’s not just an ordinary story because my brother, back then, was allergic to bees. And because of that I may have saved his life. It all began on a sunny summer day at my grandfather’s country home. We had a dog back then and he had his own fenced garden with a doghouse in it. Me and my brother were just fooling around outside doing funny stuff. At some point he decided to go let the dog out. The poles that were holding the fence up were holo inside and the bees thought that it was a great place to make a hive in. I can’t remeber why, but my brother for some reason leaned over the fence pole and looked into it. That’s when my brother got stung near to his eyes. He immediately yelled at me that he can’t see and wanted my ...
What is the best age to be? The question we all may ask ourselves time and time again. What is the best age to be? In my opinion there is not a best age and because of that is a question that will always be left unanswered. The life span approach emphasizes developmental change is throughout adulthood as well as childhood. As a 18 year old female I cannot really choose a specific age group that would be best in the life in every aspect, because I have not yet reached certain age periods of my life span development. All ages have great and bad things. When you are a child your freedom is limited and it mostly depends on your parents´ mood at that time. Some examples like where you have to be home at 9.00pm and no TV until you´ve cleaned your room. Also then you have problems, but only the ones generated at school. Childhood has many responsibilities, some we like, some we have to do and some we despise. Responsibilities some of us en...
What is your most unforgettable childhood experience? I have quite many childhood experiences that i remember, but following is the one, what i can remember really well. I was 5 years old, just learned to ride a bike, and as most of kids at the same age, so do i wanted a new bike. One day that my mother came to brought me home from kindergarten, we went home, and i was very surprised when i saw brand new bike standing at living room. I was so excited and immediately wanted to go for a ride, but in outdoors was already dark, so I had to wait next day. At that night i couldn't sleep very well, because i was so excited and anxiously waited for morning. It was one of my best and memorablest days from my childhood.
When I was a child Childhood is very special time in life. All these memories are unique. We all have had a childhood, we all got different memories. But not all memories aren't good. Kristo Karu tells a little bit about his childhood. When I was a child I liked to make troubles. Once I was cutting hammer handle into two pieces. Granddad punished me. Also I have been driving with sledge on very big puddle. Sledge didn't make it. I got very wet. Once I had been hitting chicken with bow arrow, granny saw me. This was very big trouble. I liked to eat matches when I found some. These tasted good. I spent very much time at granny's place when I was a child. Granny liked when I was there even I was very bad child. But I didn't like my granny, because she was very evil to me. I was afraid of her. Sometimes I hid myself into the shed. Granny was looking for me all day. But she...
One day, about 11 years ago I was home with my family. My mother was cooking a delicious fish for me and for my brother . We were hungry. I went to the kitchen and I saw a cooked fish, and I just wanted to eat it all. But then a fishbone got stuck inside of my throat. I was crying because it hurt me very badly. Then my mother asked me: "Oh my god! What is it, dear son?" then she saw a fish on the ground. My mother called ambulance and we went to the car right after. When we arrived to the hospital, then some nurses came to me and put me on a wheeled bed. They rolled me to the room where they took the bone out of my throat. I was so shocked that they had to give me a tranquilizer. Doctors kept my family informed what was happening with me. I was in hospital for 2 days before I got back home. That is a small story about my childhood, when I was about 3 year's old kid.
Dear Frank, I’m very glad of your visit to Estonia in this July. I have planned many things we can do while you are here, so this week will be great. Unfortunately, my grandmother got seriously ill and has to stay with my family for this summer and because of that you cannot stay at my place. However, Mari has a spare room for whole summer where you can stay at the time while you are in Estonia. Mari is my friend from childhood and she is great, I’m sure you two will get along just well. Waiting forward to see you again, Tiiu
My Most Unforgettable Childhood Experience I was spending my holiday in my summer cottage. It was a warm night and we were playing cards i my friend's balcony. It was about 1o'clock a.m. and we were getting sleepy. We decided to go to sleep and as my parents were already sleeping , I had to go home by myself. There is a forest near our house and a little lamp with green shimmer leads into the forest. When I looked straight to it, I saw a man in a black coat, who was standing in a green light. At the same time my friend shouted something to me and I turned my head. When I looked back the man had dissapeared. I was terrified and ran home. I was still trembling when I got in to my bed. In the morning I was retelling the story to my parents and when I finished, they gave me a big hug to me. When I asked, what was going on they said that they're really happy that I...

My local supermarket I will be telling you about my local supermarket. It is about 1 kilometre from my house. Its name is Jannsen and it was named after the Estonian journalist Johann Voldemar Jannsen. I actually have quite many supermarkets around me but I chose this one because I feel like it has more of a story than the others. When you get to the building and have a look at it, you would definitely think that it needs renovation and it is definitely quite old and is from the Soviet times. It is actually really colourful, compared to most supermarkets, therefore it attracts all kinds of children from the area. It has a huge variety of materials in the shop, starting from fruit and vegetables and ending with toys, clothes and even cooking meals. Sadly, the fact that it is old, makes it quite enjoyable for the alcoholics to be around the area. It has three checkout counters where you can buy your grocer...
How Are Black Women Portrayed in the Novel? The story begins in the early nineteenth century when the main protagonist Antoinette is a young girl. A white girl Antoinette is the daughter of the ex-slave owners, but it is the time when the passage of the Emancipation Act takes places. This means that black slaves are freed and led to the demise of many white slave owners. Because of this act, black men and women start to feel more powerful and superior towards the ex-slave owners. Throughtout Antoinette´s childhood, hostility is present between the weakened white aristocracy and the black servants they employ. On account of this situation, black women feel themselves more independent and strong. First of all, when the slaves are free and there is no need to work for others anymore, many servants leave their employers and turn their back on them. For example, there is a young black girl named Tia who is the daughter of an attend...
Discription of my classsmate Ever since I first met my admirable friend Kristy on-holiday camp several years ago, she has been my favourite, irreplaceable companion. The first thing you notice about her, are her blue eyes, small upturned nose and large sensuous mouth, which make her face very photogenic. At first glance you can also see her long, blond hair, as well as slender body which make her look really amazing. As a rule she enjoys wearing atypical clothes. The most characteristic thing about Kristy is her unprecedented sense of humour. It is rare to cheer everybody up in different situations, yet she always manages to do it. Moreover, she is the life and soul of a party, which makes her extremely sociable. Pointing out her tendency to be incredibly precise and insistance an perfection. Some people claim she may seem quick-tempered but in reality deep down, she is really an amiable person. Kristy has a very unpred...

Bullying I hadn't faced the real bullying, I think I have really carried only some smaller bullying casts. I don't even know what to talk about. But well, we all make mistakes, sometimes bigger and sometimes smaller. I'm going to talk about a short story about bullying in my childhood in my other school. We had a really great class and almost everybody held together. But like in almost every class, there is someone different from others and that may cause them problems with the other people. We had very many these classmates who were a little bit bullied and couldn't stand for themselves. There was a girl, who wasn't very thin and that's the main purpose she was bullied. She wasn't very rich also and she lived only with her mother. The boys of our class called her "fat" and so on. She did a face like she didn't care but I know that she really did and it hurt her. I and some other of my friends ...
Sandra Bullock I´m going to talk about Sandra Bullock. The reason I´ve chosen her is that she is my favourite actress and people had said that I look same as her and I hope you will lear a few things about her. As for her background she was born in July 26, 1964, in Arlington, a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. Did you know that her mother, Helga Bullock was a German opera singer and her father, John W. Bullock was an American voice teacher, who was born in Alabama. You might not know that Sandra grew up on the road with her parents and younger sister and spent much of her childhood in Nuremberg, Germany. She often performed in the children´s choirs since she was 5. That singing talent later came in handy for her role as an aspiring country singer in North Carolina, where she studied acting. Shortly afterward she moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. Her breakthrough ...
Beauty pageants for small girls should be banned Today's beauty pageants are detrimental to a child's development. These kinds of competitions can lead to low selfconfidence and poor body image. While most beauty pageants cater strictly to girls, there are a growing number that include boys as well. I firmly believe that taking part of beauty pageants is pressured by contestants' parents. It is their vision of how their children should look and act like. Some children do not want to partake in those competitions because it is tiring and chaotic, some children even do not understand what it is all about, because they are too young for that. In my opinion, a child who looks absolutely gorgeous without fake teeth, spraytan and an enormous wig is forced to wear all of it just to measure up to her parent wishes. I am not convinced that beauty pageants help to promote selfesteem in children. It can be ...
How to keep Estonians in Estonia? In my opinion the first thing to do would be changing out politicians. I feel like the only thing they want is to make teir lives better, not the average person's. Whatever it is that they change it only drives Estonians away. I think that if everyone could get higher education for free they wouldn't have to get a student loan which they are not able to pay back after graduating. They have to get a well-paid job. But here in Estonia you can't get a great job unless you have a relative who's a top executive. Because of this many people go to a foreign country for a short time. At least that's what they say. Most of my friends and relatives who have gone abroad years ago are sure they are never coming back to live in Estonia. I'm not sure if it would help to keep Estonians in Estonia if kids would have a normal childhood but it really makes me angry that they have to be able to read at the ag...

Why did I choose university education over vocational training? An essay Why more and more people nowadays tend to go to universities rather than to vocational schools? Will going to the university open all the doors in our lives? Is it necessary to have a higher education in order to survive in today’s economy? Those are just some of the questions that may arise when we start talking about the topic. Going to the university was once only for the children from wealthier families. Now as we have a lot of free higher education available, many people tend to use this wonderful opportunity. Although it might seem a great way to start building your way towards future career, it might not be the best way. Why? Because we have reached the stage where we have more people with higher education than we have jobs that require that kind of educational degree. To fix the issue, numerous studies have been car...

During that time, he met screenwriter Richard Curtis, with whom he wrote and performed comedy revues. CAREER Rowan Atkinson has written sketch comedies like Blackadder and Not the Nine o'Clock News. Is there a place for libraries in future? I think in the past almost everyone liked just to sit in a library and to read good books. But what do young people think about libraries today? Millions of people around the world enjoy reading and in my opinion it will continue. I am convinced that we will always need in a library. Since childhood people learn to read, have fun and play, study and do homework at libraries. There are so many very great books, and every year their number increases. May be someday people will even start building libraries on the water. Then we could not only read books but also rest and travel. On the other hand libraries could be built for example as hotel. Surely this library will be very popular. May be people would live there until you read the book through. Accordingly you will not have to carry books here and there and it is one more reason to think about building this library. I...

What are the advantages and disadvantages of living forever? Scientists believe that in 30 years we have a technology, that makes possible to live forever. Being immortal has its advantages and disadvantages, which you can't just look over. Living for decades or even eons, a person gets the chance to see his future generations. It gives an opportunity to see, how fast the world changes every day. I think most people, who hear about being immortal, think that it would be great. But if they think about it, then they realise that it also has its bad side. For example, you won't grow older of the age you started being immortal, and you will always have the same look, just as 30 or 50 years ago. All the memories from your childhood will vanish in time. A problem with population would come up in 20-30 years after making people immortal. The world is even now being overcrowded in many places, such ...
Victoria Justice Writes Her Own 'Victorious' Ending Tonight is the night -- the series finale of Victorious. Star Victoria Justice took to Twitter and Tumblr for her own version of how the ending should be. "Hi guys, as most of you know by now, tonight is the final episode of Victorious. In honor of this I thought I'd write a letter about my journey on Nickelodeon and most of all my gratitude to all of you. "It all started when I was twelve years old and auditioned for a role on a show called Zoey 101 for the part of Lola. I was cast as a series regular on the second season. I knew my life was going to change in many ways, but I didn't know then that that role on Zoey 101 would lead me to almost eight years on `Nickelodeon' (all my teenage years). I remember Dan Schneider approaching me and my Mom about giving me the starring role of my own show. I remember discussing the premise of what the show would be, like it was yester...

Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like. Ofcourse I have seen it, it's all around me, but only seeing and seeing plus thinking through what you see are two really different things. An example: have you ever been to a funeral of a collateral relative as a child? Do you remember what you felt? I remember I felt almost nothing ...

What does "being free" mean? Freedom plays an important role in our everyday life. It is hard to understand what "being free" mean as every person has his own view on it, which depends on our lifestyle and upbringings. There are a lot of kinds of freedom in the modern world. It can affect on people`s life positively as well as may cause different problems. To begin with, there are certain arguments in favour of being free. Firstly, people in developed countries have a freedom of speech. As a result, democratic policy in such regions offers a great opportunity to citizens to have their opinions heard and be considered. Moreover, some people suggest that being free mean material independence. If a man provide himself (materially), he is able to act as he wants to do it. In spite of having many advantages, being free may also be harmful for certain people. The most important disadvantage is that too much freedom in children`s upbringings ...
An Essay There are many different education systems in the world. Basics are pretty much the same, but ofcourse depending of the culture, the differences and interests of educating people, are big. Children go to school at age five in Great Britain, which is too early in my opinion. Most children in Estonia start school at age seven, only some of them at age six. I think starting with school and competition, rivalry, witch always associates with schooling, too young, shortens the childhood and may affect negatively self-esteem, success and coping in the future. Children´s job is to play, it develops child the best, so I think anyone shouldn't forbit humans inherent needs. Children don´t have to become too fast to an adult. The high school in Great Britain starts at age eleven, but in Estonia at about age fifteen. Biggest difference is that in Great Britain they prepare young people to get a job ...

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in the hope that you can help me with a problem regarding a camera that I have bought recently. On 24 April, I purchased a Canon digital SLR camera from a duty-free shop at Freetown Airport on my way from Freetown to Wondercity. The camera cost $599, and I paid for it by credit card. When I arrived at my hotel in Wondercity almost 24 hours later, I discovered that the box which contained the camera did not include the battery, and the space in the box for the charger was empty. I am now in Wondercity, and I am not returning to Freetown, so I need to get the missing parts here. I would be grateful if you could arrange for the parts to be sent to me. I attach a copy of the receipt for your information. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Introduction This report looks at the dietary habits of twenty students in their final year at Freedonian Secondary School. The report is bas...

The Silence And Awe Of Arvo Pärt Some time ago, when I was randomly browsing the internet, I found an article about Arvo Pärt attending a festival in New York. The article seemed interesting but I didn't exactly read it, because Arvo Pärt has always been a composer I respect and know of, but I haven't directly listened to his music or been to any of his concerts so it didn't strike my interest, but on the bottom of the same page was a review where a journalist described his music very vividly and colorfully. It was also very inspiring and so I started to search for more. The silence and awe of Arvo Pärt is an article written by Tom Huizenga. There he talks about Pärt's childhood and how he found his current style. The most important was what inspires him and they also had an interview: In the article he says that Pärt is a major composer and he was little nervous to meet him. Although the 78-year-old musician us...

Captain Walton's introductory frame narrative The novel Frankenstein is written in epistolary form, documenting a correspondence between Captain Robert Walton and his sister, Margaret Walton Saville. Walton is a failed writer who sets out to explore the North Pole and expand his scientific knowledge in hopes of achieving fame. During the voyage the crew spots a dog sled mastered by a gigantic figure. A few hours later, the crew rescues a nearly frozen and emaciated man named Victor Frankenstein. Frankenstein has been in pursuit of the gigantic man observed by Walton's crew. Edulugude võistlus Success-story competition „Small Town Inhabitants – Educated or Uneducated People“ To begin with, my childhood was quite ordinary, I spent a lot of time in my country home, spending most of my time playing. I have been raised by my mother. As I grew older, I got more and more interested in different things. At one point it occured to me that when I want to be successful in some field, then I really have to educate myself in that filed. When my friends have characterised me then they have mainly mentioned that I am an active person, who has been successful in different fields. I still do not think I am succesful because it is a really complicated definition, but I know that I have succeeded in doing several things. Philip Larkin poetry analysis For my poetry analysis paper I chose Philip Larkin's works, because he was the first British poet whose works I read. I think that his poems are interesting. They reveal much about Larkin's life and about the social issues in the 20th century. Larkin is also considered to be one of the greatest English poets in the 20th century. I think that Larkin was quite interested in politics. For example his poem ´´Talking in Bed´´ begins with the lines /Talking in bed ought to be easiest, Lying together there goes back so far/. At first it gives the reader an idea that he is talking about two lovers, but actually he is talking about England and USA. He describes the darkness that is creeping up. In my opinion he is talking about USA, which is beginning to creep up on England or on Europe. And because of that England is becoming a less dominant and more isolated place. He is s...
