ESTONIA  Estonia  is  a  country  in  northeastern  Europe  in  the  northernmost  of  the  three  Baltic  states.  Estonia’s  area  includes  some  1,500  islands  and  islets;  the  two  largest  of  these  islands  are  Saaremaa and Hiiumaa.  Situated in northeastern Europe, Estonia juts out into the Baltic Sea,  which surrounds the country to the north and west. To the east Estonia is bounded by Russia,  predominantly  by  the  Narva  River  and  Lakes  Peipus.  To  the  south  Estonia  is  bounded  by  Latvia. (Stranga, 2021)  Estonias  current  population  is  1  327  100  and  the  city  with  the  largest  population  is  Tallinn  with  394  000  people.  The  population  density  of  Estonia  is  31  people  per  km 2.  (Estonia  Demographics, s.a)  One of the most cherished national symbols of Estonia is the blue-black-white colour national  flag. The Estonian flag was born in the national-romantic student circles of the University of  Tartu  during  the  final  quarter  of  the  19th  century.  The  blue,  black  and  white  tricolour  was  consecrated by the members of the Society of Estonian Students in Otepää on 4 June 1884.  The central motif of the state coat of arms, three blue lions on a golden shield, is among the  oldest  symbols  of  Estonia.  It  stems  from  the  coats  of  arms  of  the  Knighthood  of  Harrien  Vironia  and  Tallinn.  These  were  granted  by  Valdemar  II,  King  of  Denmark,  after  the  founding of the Duchy of Estonia during the Northern Crusades. The current  design for the  state coat of arms acquired official status in 1925.  The  cornflower  is  the  national  flower  of  Estonia.  A  televised  opinion  poll,  conducted  in  1967–68,  favoured  the  cornflower  as  the  national  flower.  It`s  popularity  was  mostly  due  to  that it was the color of the national flag and grows among rye, the principal grain in Estonian  bread.  In 1960, in order to draw attention to the need to protect endangered birds, the International  Council  for  Bird  Preservation  recommended  its  member  associations  designate  the  most  threatened  avian  species  as  national  birds.  The  Estonian  conservationists  seized  the  chance  and chose the barn swallow in 1962. It provided a chance to stress Estonian national identity,  as distinct from that of the USSR. (Kalling, 2015)

Tallinn  is  the  capital  city  of  Estonia.  First  established  in  the  early  medieval  era,  today’s  Tallinn  is  an  exciting  mix  of  old  and  new.  Tallinn  Old  Town  is  one  of  the  best  preserved  Hanseatic town centres in the world. (Tallinn, s.a)  Otepää is the winter capital of Estonia, which gets flooded with people who enjoy skiing and  other  winter  sports.  The  town  itself  is  small,  extremely  cozy,  and  surrounded  by  stunning  nature. Viljandi is a small town in the south of Estonia and home to 19 000 people. This town  is for people who enjoy quiet walks through narrow alleys surrounded by old wooden houses.  every  year  the  traditional  Viljandi  Folk  Music  Festival  is  held  there.  Narva  is  the  third- biggest city in Estonia, and is the city to visit for people who want to learn about the Soviet  Union era. Most of the buildings in Narva were built during the Soviet regime. It is also the  site of the Narva fortress. (Asmonaitis, 2017)  By character Estonians are very quiet compared to other nationalities. Estonians don`t really  talk  unless  they  have  something  important  to  say.  Due  to  this  characteristic  Estonians  are  great at hiding emotions. You never know if he or she is sad or happy. Most Estonians hide  their  emotions  extremely  well  and  throughout  time  it's  been  encouraged  to  hold  it  all  in,  as  laughing and crying too  excessively is  a sign of bad manners.  This  characteristic  is  likely  a  side  effect  of  the  not  so  expressive  communist  mindset  but  it  mostly  is  present  in  older  generations. Estonians have a pretty distinct look due to many occupations and mixed blood.  Most  are  tall  and  very  blonde  with  some  Eastern  European  facial  features.  Due  to  this  it`s  very hard  for  foreign people to  guess Estonians  ethnicity. Estonians  are  crafty  and focused  more on the solutions than the problems. (Kõiv, 2018)  The most famous tradition in Estonia is the Song and Dance festival.  The Song Festival has  grown steadily since 1869, when the first  festival  was  held  in  Tartu under the leadership of  Johann  Voldemar  Jannsen,  and  has  kept  pace  with  the  times.  it  helps  people  to  better  understand  themselves  and  carries  all  the  important  values  that  the  Estonians  consider  important as a nation. (Weidebaum, 2020)  The temperate  and humid climate of Estonia differs sharply from  the climates  of regions  to  the east  in Russia at the  same latitude. The  country  lies  in  the path of  air masses  borne  by  cyclonic winds that originate in  the North  Atlantic Ocean and carry warm air in  winter and  cool  air  in  summer.  The  northern  and  western  coastal  areas  tend  to  be  milder  than  the  country’s  inland  regions,  while  the  eastern  and  southeastern  regions  tend  to  have  a

continental  climate.  The  Estonian  climate  is  generally  favourable  for  agriculture.  (Stranga,  2021)  I personally like to live in Estonia. The people are very kind and supportive. we have a clean  and  beutiful  environment  and  a  quite  simple  lifestyle.  We  have  one  of  the  best  education  systems  in  the  world  and  very  convenient  IT-systems.  But  the  most  appealing  thing  is  how  small the country with its population is. Due to that aspect everybody knows each other and  there`s  a  great  sense  of  unity.  I  love  the  traditions  and  history  of  my  homeland.  All  those  aspects togheter gives a real feeling of uniqueness. Feeling that this country with it`s people  is a perfect and rare oasis in the midst of the modern world.

Festivals and events dedicated to the consumption of beer are a lot of fun, but if you want to get the true feel of the country, you need something a little more ethnic. Like a town fair. Just as July becomes August, the seaside town of Haapsalu will host a grand spectacle of rural Estonian entertainment. The White Lady Days is a summer celebration filled with amusement for all the family. Held in and
