Curling is a sport which players slide stones across a sheet of
ice towards a target area

granite stones across the ice towards the house
The house: a circulate target marked on the ice
Each team has eight stones

The game ends when both temas have thrown all of their stones

at the Antwerp Games in 1920, along with an ice hockey tournament. In Chamonix in 1924, the winter sports finally had their own Games. Six sports were on the programme: bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, skating, Nordic skiing (cross-country) and the military patrol race. The number of sports at the Winter Games has remained quite stable over the years. However, the number of events has increased considerably. At the Salt Lake City Games in 2002, there were seven sports biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, luge, skating and skiing and a total of 78 events on the programme. The three major attractions on the Winter Games programme are ice hockey, skating and skiiing Ice hockey, like skating and skiing, is one of the sports that helped to launch the Olympic Winter Games. SPORT In English the word ‘sport’ describes both casual play and the highest levels of performance. Recent surveys reveal that 10% of adults play sports more than twice a week, the majority of the British population involves in sport or physical recreation at least once a month. Most people have an interest in some sports as a player, spectator or gambler, but everybody in Britain seems to be fond of outdoor exercise, be it jogging, walking, rambling or just sitting on the bench outdoors. The Government is Federal constitutional republic and the president is George W. Bush. 2. Geographical position The United States of America is located on the continent of North America. It has borders with two countries Mexico and Canada. There are also the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico surrounding the big country. There are 50 states in America.
Sports. Sports has a very old history. The ancient Olympic Games were the first big sports competitions. The history of the Olympic Games is linked with many myths referred to in ancient sources, but in the historic years their founder is said to be Oxylos whose descendant Ifitos later rejuvenated the Games. According to the tradition, the Olympic Games began in 776 B.C. when Ifitos made a treaty with Lycourgos the king and famous legislator of Sparta and Cleisthenes the king of Pissa. In this treaty that was the decisive event for the development of the sanctuary as a Panhellenic centre, the "sacred truce" was agreed. That is to say ceasing of fighting in all of the Freek world for as long as the Olympic Games were on. British Cuisine Some people criticize English food. They say it's unimaginable, boring, tasteless, it's chips with everything and totally overcooked vegetables.
