state if training ceases adaptation is not always a good thing (maladaptation) Ventilatory Response to Exercise Onset of exercise: initial rapid increase, followed by a gradual increase in breathing depth & rate. 1st rise due to motor cortex. Gradual rise, due to changes in temp and CO2 and H+ quantities. Raised ventilation post- exercise, regulated by acid-base balance, PCO2, and blood temp. (EPOC) Minute Ventilation (VE) and Exercise · Average: 35 45 breaths/min during strenuous exercise, Athletes 60 70 breaths per minute. · Tidal volume (TV) increase from 0.5L to 3L. · V E can rise up to 90 150L per minute. · Some studies have even shown VE to rise above 200L per minute Minute Ventilation (VE) · QUESTION: · Two people have an identical VE. · Does the same amount of oxygen necessarily reach the alveoli? Stress

v=jGrYzanIJgw o Sleep Music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJqhh5t-1gM When are you stressed? What are the symptoms of stress? What do you do if you want to low down your stress? Take 3-5 minutes and write down what you do when you are stressed. · 3 breathing exercises: The Stimulating Breath Its aim is to raise vital (olulist) energy and increase alertness. Inhale and exhale rapidly through your nose, keeping your mouth closed but relaxed. Your breaths in and out should be equal in duration, but as short as possible. (hinga sisse ja välja tormakal läbi nina. Suu on kinni ja lõdvestunud) Try for three in-and-out breath cycles per second. This produces a quick movement of the diaphragm. Do not do for more than 15 seconds on your first try. Each time you practice the Stimulating Breath, you can increase your time by five seconds or so, until you reach a full minute.

2. Take several deep breathes and take in the complete darkness (or visualize a relaxing setting); 3. After 20 seconds or so, uncover your eyes and allow them to refocus. You're ready to continue your day! Meditation: Meditation is very helpful, especially when you need to relieve some stress or rest after stretches. Sit on your chair with your spine straight and both feet flat on the floor. Start taking long, deeply breaths and then gently slip your chin down to your chest. Resting your hands on your thighs or down by your side, relax your shoulders down and back. Close your eyes and take your gaze to a point between your eyebrows. Take 5 to 10 long deep breaths, shut eyes focused between your brows. improve its quality. Nervousness is usually the reason why are voices are so affected in public speaking. There are three simple ways to relax and thus upgrade your voice: · Slow Down. As with driving a car, control is easier at slower speeds. · Release the Upper Body. "Take a breath, rotate your shoulders, relax your neck," Rush says. All these actions will create more relaxed vocal chords and make your voice sound deeper and more pleasant. · Take Breaths from Your Stomach, Not Your Chest. Short breaths reduce vocal quality. Breathing deeply from the diaphragm allows a richer, more relaxed sound. In addition, for effective speechmaking, avoid the monotone voice (particularly Estonians!). · When we want to convey something very important and serious, we all tend to talk in a lower tone (and, inciden tally, at a slower pace.) · In ordinary conversation, we speak in the midrange between bass and treble.

One loyal friend is worth ten thousand relatives. Good friends are angels on earth. If you see someone without smile, give them one of yours. True friends fill your life with joy, your soul with sunshine and your heart with love. You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince. Many people walk in and out of our lives, only true friends will leave footprints in our hearts. Tears are words from heart that cant be spoken. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that takes our breath away! La vita e bella - elu on ilus :D Never say never. Teach me laughter, save my soul! Only when the last tree is death, the last river dammed and the last field paved over will we realize we can´t eat money !! true friendship never ends ! if love is the answer , can you please repeat the question ? [ sorri , aga ma arvan , et igaüks saab nendest aru x) ]

framed a breathtaking face. His bone structure would make a sculptor weep with joy, while a firmly etched mouth, a blade of a nose, and intensely blue eyes made him savagely gorgeous. Those eyes narrowed slightly, his features otherwise schooled into impassivity. His dress shirt and suit were both black, but his tie perfectly matched those brilliant irises. His eyes were shrewd and assessing, and they bored into me. My heartbeat quickened; my lips parted to accommodate faster breaths. He smelled sinfully good. Not cologne. Body wash, maybe. Or shampoo. Whatever it was, it was mouthwatering, as was he. He held out a hand to me, exposing onyx cuff links and a very expensive-looking watch. With a shaky inhalation, I placed my hand in his. My pulse leaped when his grip tightened. His touch was electric, sending a shock up my arm that raised the hairs on my nape. He didn't move for a moment, a frown line marring the space between arrogantly slashed brows.

Stiffen and brace your body but stay as tall as possible. b. Begin the pulling portion of either movement and force air out between your clenched teeth to produce a hissing sound. Continue this slow continuous hiss as you transition into the pushing and reach full extension. Upon full extension, you should still have more than 50% of the air in your lungs. Continue the hiss on the return, using the remaining air, until the weight stack comes to rest. c. Take two normal breaths, the weight stack resting, and start the next repetition. 4. Make your positioning 100% consistent workout to workout. Foot placement: To standardize position from one workout to the next, Gray suggests using a stretching or yoga mat, narrow end against the machine, and then setting your down knee approximately one-third of the way from the far end of the mat. If you own the mat (yoga mats can be rolled up and are a smart investment), use something

and you suddenly find yourself puffing on a cigarette or holding a drink. “How did that get into my hand?” Taking the cigarette out of the packet and lighting it, or pouring yourself a drink were actions performed in complete unconsciousness. If you have a compulsive behavior pattern such as smoking, overeating, drinking, TV watching, Internet addiction, or whatever it may be, this is what you can do: When you notice the compulsive need arising in you, stop and take three conscious breaths. This generates awareness. Then for a few minutes be aware of the compulsive urge itself as an energy field inside you. Consciously feel that need to physically or mentally ingest or consume a certain substance or the desire to act out some form of compulsive behavior. Then take a few more conscious breaths. After that you may find that the compulsive urge has disappeared - for the time being. or you may find that it still overpowers you, and you cannot help but indulge or act it out again

came crashing down on me. Stupid, unreliable vampire, I thought to myself. I stomped along in a southerly direction, toward some glass-fronted shops that looked promising. But when I got to them, they were just a repair shop and a vacant space. I still had too much time to go looking for Jess and Angela yet, and I definitely needed to get my mood in hand before I met back up with them. I ran my fingers through my hair a couple of times and took some deep breaths before I continued around the corner. I started to realize, as I crossed another road, that I was going the wrong direction. The little foot traffic I had seen was going north, and it looked like the buildings here were mostly warehouses. I decided to turn east at the next corner, and then loop around after a few blocks and try my luck on a different street on my way back to the boardwalk. A group of four men turned around the corner I was heading for, dressed too casually to be heading

place in symphonic music and its importance continued to rise. At first it was used in the ensembles of light music. In the Eighties Sven Grünberg (b. 1956) became one of the first pioneers in combining acoustic instruments with electronic sound. The first and most characteristic feature of Grünberg’s music is its poetry. His cognition of the world is serene and full of colours: there is no place for grief and tragedy. The composer calls his synthetic works “poems”, for example Breaths (1979-1980). These are sound canvases, reflecting nature and the Universe without any direct and planned development, where thought often proceeds through variants. Grünberg feels, like several other contemporary Estonian composers (Peeter Vähi, b. 1955), profound respect for Oriental philosophy and has tried to express it in sound in his poem OM (1987). That sacred Indian and Tibetan syllable expresses the all-embracing oneness with all living or lifeless, with the

amazingly effective in preparing yourself and your mind for an up- coming event. The first of these methods is what is called the quick program- ming technique. Here is how it works. Prior to any nonrecurring event of importance, like a sales call, a meeting, or an interview, you take a few moments to prepare mentally, like an athlete would warm up for a competition. First, take a few deep breaths. This relaxes you and drops your mind into the alpha state. In this state, your subconscious mind be- comes highly receptive to any incoming command. Second, you vi- sualize the ideal outcome of the upcoming situation. You imagine it as turning out perfectly for you in every respect. For example, if you are making a sales call, visualize the client responding to you in a positive, receptive way

I took a few deep breaths and could feel blood returning to my skull. Instead of thrashing around pointlessly, I took in my surroundings and got in touch with something ancient and instinctive in me, a reliable inner sense of what to do in dangerous situations. Just then, a voice came into my head, clear as sunlight. "Trust the path," it said. I truly heard this, as a spoken sentence that seemed to be coming from a deep part of me. But I smiled, scoffing at the idea
