Teose väitel algas rinnaga toitmise langus siis, kui meestekeskne meditsiin võttis sünnituste ja laste toitmise korraldamise naistelt üle. 18. sajandil oli Londonis arst nimega William Cadogan, kes oli rinnaga toitmise populariseerija, ent paraku algatas ta ka selle piiramise trendi.
