listen to them. Next morning children were ready and Arabella too. Sister Brewster joined with them. They wanted to go to the Ghent. Suddenly Arabella saw that busdriver's driving had become rather erratic ; he wasn't on the right side of the road. Arabella was beside a strangely sagging busdriver by now, applying the hand-brake and switching off the ignition. The bus came to a lop-sidedhalt on the wrong side of the road, on a narrow grass slope leading to a small waterway. The bus landed on its side quite gently and lay rocking. She heard the squeal of brakes and saw a good looking man. He called ambulance and all were taken to the hospital. The children were sent back to Wickham to their families. Only two of them stayed with Arabella in hospital. Man who resqued the bus crew was a local doctor. He liked Arabella and Arabella liked him too. Doctor asked Arabella to move in his house, because of the children who can forget the accident there

B.C., hanged herself with a dog leash in her bedroom. She too left a note for her family. It read: "If I try to get help, it will get worse. They are always looking for a new person to beat up, and they are the toughest girls. If I ratted, there would be no stopping them. I love you all so much!" Most Canadians remember the tragic 1997 murder of Reena Virk, a high-school student whose battered body was recovered from the Gorge Waterway, near Victoria. Her head and internal organs had been severely damaged by a beating that rendered her senseless before she was deliberately drowned. One girl and a boy were convicted of second-degree murder, and six girls were found guilty of aggravated assault. Her death is an example of bullying taken to its ultimate expression. But even in its mildest everyday forms, bullying is about one thing: the strong taking unfair advantage of the weak.

continent. The first explorers were Norse seafarers known as Vikings. As they sailed from Iceland to Greenland in AD 985, they were blown far off their course and they saw the coast what must have been Labrador. The forested areas of Canada's coast encouraged further explorations, because their settlement lacked lumber. They established a colony, what they called Vinland on Newfoundland. It died out during the 14th and 15th centuries. 500 years later Europeans started looking for a waterway to Asia, because travelling with spices over land wasn't very safe anymore. The first explorer was Christopher Kolumbus who reached America's shore in 1492, although he thought it was Asia. The next explorer was John Cabot in 1497. He sailed to Newfoundland. The first European who explored further inland was Jacques Cartier in 1534. The King of France wanted to settle nowadays eastern Canada and call it New France. To

The St. Lawrence is the largest river flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. Its drainage basin includes the Great Lakes, forming an inland navigable waterway extending some 3,765 km into the heart of the continent. The longest Pacific-draining river that is wholly within Canada is the Fraser. The Yukon and Columbia rivers, which both rise in Canada, also flow to the Pacific, but they do so through the United States. Five of Canada's rivers -- the St. Lawrence, Mackenzie, Yukon, Fraser, and Nelson -- rank among the world's 40 longest. 5.
