Australia/ Austraalia

Australia is a parliamentary democracy. Queen Elizabeth II is formally head of state, but she is represented in Australia by a Governor General. There are two houses of Parliament: the Senate and the House of Representatives. Prince Charles has said that Australians should be able to have a Republic if they want one. Animals and plants. Sixty million years ago Australia and its nearby islands were separated from the other world by a great upheaval. They were cut off from Asia by the ocean. Almost no animals visited Australia before English colonists began to settle there. Now a strange thing happened when the ocean blocked off this island continent. The ancestors of cats and tigers, of dogs and wolves, of elephant and sheep just were not there. As a result, the reptile like mammals that have died out everywhere else in the world are very much alive in Australia. Australia is, in fact, a continent-sized museum of

Tallinn 2011 Location Only one country in the world fills a whole continent. That country is Australia. The continent it fills is Australia, too. Australia, then, is both a country and a continent. If someone wants to make clear that he is speaking of the country, he may call it by its full name of Commonwealth of Australia. Sixty million years ago Australia and its nearby islands were separated from the rest of the world by a great upheaval. They were cut off from Asia by the ocean. Very few people and almost no animals visited Australia before English colonists began to settle there in 1788. During all those 60 million years the native Australian mammals developed by themselves, undisturbed by the animals developing elsewhere. Australia is the only continent except Antarctica that is all south of the equator. It's name means "southland". Since it is south of the equator, its seasons are just the opposite of ours. It

The southeastern coast gets rains all year around. The southwest area has hot, dry summers and mild moist winters. In the west and in the outback the temperature is often 35 degrees in the summer months. The outback receives almost no rainfall. Tasmania is cooler and wetter than the rest of Australia. The only places where snow falls are in the southeast and Tasmania. History Sixty million years ago Australia and its nearby islands were separated from the rest of the world by a great upheaval. They were cut off from Asia by the ocean. Almost no animals and few people visited Australia before the English colonists. The first people in Australia were the Aborigines. They came there more than 50,000 years ago. They were the only inhabitants. They were living in the Stone Age. Their only weapons were simple spears and boomerangs. They raised no crops and had no heards of tame animals. For food the hunted, fished and gathered wild fruit and nuts. Their tribes had

The Relations Between The USA and Iraq

The US broke relations with Iraq in 1967. After al- Bakr seized power, relations remained severed for 16 years and the US made arms sales to Iraq illegal. In June 1972 all foreign businesses including the Iraq Petroleum Company were seized and Iraq declared that oil would be used as "a political weapon in the struggle against imperialism". Saddam Hussein assumed power in a counter-coup in 1979. 1980s The Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) was one of a series of crises during an era of upheaval in the Middle East. In mid-September 1980 Iraq attacked Iran, in the mistaken belief that Iranian political disarray would guarantee a quick victory. The U.S., having decided that an Iranian victory would not serve its interests, began supporting Iraq. In 1984 the U.S restored full diplomatic relations with Iraq. At same time U.S. began sharing intelligence and selling weapons to Iran. In 1986 the USA increased the aid to Iraq

With migration factored in, however, the estimated Christian share is expected to be just above 3% (down from nearly 4% in 2010). Beyond the Year 2050 This report describes how the global religious landscape would change if current demographic trends continue. With each passing year, however, there is a chance that unforeseen events – war, famine, disease, technological innovation, political upheaval, etc. – will alter the size of one religious group or another. Owing to the difficulty of peering more than a few decades into the future, the projections stop at 2050. Readers may wonder, though, what would happen to the population trajectories highlighted in this report if they were projected into the second half of this century. Given the rapid projected increase from 2010 to 2050 in the Muslim share of the world’s population, would Muslims eventually outnumber Christians

avarage of 600 a year for certain German cities or two a day. Nine-hundred witches were put to deathh in a day. In the Bishopric of Trier, in 1585, two villages were left with only one female inhabitant each. Many writers have estimated the total number killed to have been in the millions. Women made up some 85 percent of Athose executed old women, young women and children. In locale and timing, the most virulent witch hunts were associated with periods of great social upheaval shaking feodalism at its roots mass peasent uprising and conspiracies, the beginnings of capitalism, and the rise of Protestantism. There is fragmentary evidence which feminists ought to follorw up suggesting that in some areas witchcraft represented a female-led peasant rebellion. The history of the witches was recorded by the elite, so that today we know the witch only through the eyes of her persecutor.

haven. The war began in Juárez around 2008. Since then, conflict has spread across much of Mexico's north, as various cartels, street gangs and crooked police units battle in a void of legitimate authority. President Felipe Calderón has tried to smash the cartels by deploying the army, and he has sent thousands of soldiers into Juárez. The assault has eliminated some drug lords, but that has in turn encouraged turf and succession struggles, making for increasingly bloody upheaval. The conflict has claimed some 40,000 lives in Mexico since it began, and Juárez has seen a tenfold increase in its murder rate, reaching more than 3,000 homicides last year. El Paso, by contrast, had only five murders. It is estimated that some 230,000 Mexicans have fled the violence, about half of them to the United States. Since 2009 the El Paso metropolitan area's population has grown to around 800,000 residents, up by 50,000, an undetermined but

management? The answer is found from the rapid developments in information and communications technologies. Use of databases, communication systems, and foremost advanced computer software are crucial for the development of a modern cost-effective supply chain management. MANAGING THE GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN We live in interesting times. Powerful forces are re-shaping the global business scene: financial and economic upheaval in the Far East, Latin America & China is creating a tidal-wave of change in the competitive environment. Organisations that once felt insulated from overseas low-priced competitors now find that they too must not only continue to constantly create new value for customers, but must do so at a lower price. To meet the challenge of simultaneously reducing cost and enhancing customer value requires a radically different approach to the way the business responds to marketplace demand

Heiki Vilep and the new children's literature SUMMARY Heiki Vilep represents the Estonian new children's literature which during the last ten years has gone through numerous significant changes and developments. These developments include the progress of information technology and visual media which tends to dominate over traditional literature. Estonian children's literature has recovered from the low point it experienced in the nineties. The upheaval is characterised by an increase in the number of original publications and improvement in the quality and design of publications. Children's literature which is supposed to associate with ethical, aesthetic and social development of young generations has become a part of an entertainment industry called children's culture. One cannot become a successful children's writer without realising and following this development.
