The average high school offers its students a great variety of sports, including rowing, wrestling, tennis and golf. Being intelligent and being good at sport are regarded as things that combine well, as an ideal. 12)Recently such typically American sports as skate-boarding, wind-surfing and surfing have gained international popularity. The most unusual sport that first achieved popularity in the USA is the triathlon. It includes swimming, bicycle racing and long-distance running, and is becoming more and more popular in Europe. 13)As for me, I'm interested in different kinds of sports. At school we have physical training lessons twice a week. I like to ski in winter. Sometimes the whole family goes skiing at the weekend. In summer I like to swim. I also do some cycling. I am very fond of

Surfing (esitluse tekst)

*Surfing is a surface water sport in which a person (the surfer) moves along the face of a breaking ocean wave (the surf). Surfing also takes place on rivers, riding a standing wave. *Two major subdivisions within stand-up surfing are longboarding and shortboarding, reflecting differences in surfboard design -- particularly including surfboard length, and riding style. *It's important to observe the correct etiquette while out surfing, otherwise things will just descend in to total chaos. These are the most importand rules you have to follow. Probaly the most important word and rule in surfing. Respect for the land, the ocean and the people who grew up surfing here. You have to give respect and behave while visiting a spot, keep things friendly, earn some respect yourself *You will never know what may happen out there and its better if you have some friend with you. They can look over you and you over them.

Sports. Sports has a very old history. The ancient Olympic Games were the first big sports competitions. The history of the Olympic Games is linked with many myths referred to in ancient sources, but in the historic years their founder is said to be Oxylos whose descendant Ifitos later rejuvenated the Games. According to the tradition, the Olympic Games began in 776 B.C. when Ifitos made a treaty with Lycourgos the king and famous legislator of Sparta and Cleisthenes the king of Pissa. In this treaty that was the decisive event for the development of the sanctuary as a Panhellenic centre, the "sacred truce" was agreed. That is to say ceasing of fighting in all of the Freek world for as long as the Olympic Games were on. The Olympic Games were held, after the completion of four years during the month of July or August. The time between two competitions was called the Olympiad. In the beginning the games last

SPORT tööleht

SPORT In English the word ‘sport’ describes both casual play and the highest levels of performance. Recent surveys reveal that 10% of adults play sports more than twice a week, the majority of the British population involves in sport or physical recreation at least once a month. Most people have an interest in some sports as a player, spectator or gambler, but everybody in Britain seems to be fond of outdoor exercise, be it jogging, walking, rambling or just sitting on the bench outdoors. As British homes are rather cool in winter (at least for Estonians!), the saying goes that ‘the English like fresh air outdoors and indoors’. Most people are conscious of the good influence of sport on their health. They expect a lot from it – having an attractive body shape, strengthening their hearts, lowering their blood pressure and reducing stress. To keep fit or just to relax, most people in towns involve themselves

Music: The Aboriginal singing is called chanting, which is the rhythmic speaking or singing of words or sounds. There are many styles of Aboriginal music, for example Bunggul, Karma and Wangga.
