Mormoonid Mormoonikirik on pärit 19.sajandi Ameerika prohvetiterohkest pinnasest. Oma kodukandis põhiliselt aareteotsimisega tegelenud Joseph Smith (1805-1844) rajas selle NY osariigis 1830. aastal.
