Technology has dramatically changed leisure and hobbies

Technology has dramatically changed leisure and hobbies Family drives with a car, husband turns the car looking at the GPS directions to home. Wife shares pictures to Instagram with her iPhone and in the backseat girl is playing with her iPad and boy reads on his kindle. This is normal nowadays, because technolgy has been improved for example people can now communicate with each other much faster. It is great, although it can also harm people. Technology is serious responsibility- if people do not use an invention carefully, then it would end up the wrong way. The word „Leisure“ meaning changes in every 10 to 20 years. 50 years ago spare time was usually considered as that part of a day when people took a nap or children played with each other. Nowadays technological tools are killing off leisure time, especially for younger workers and students, who are working longer hours, taking fewer and shorter vacations but still bringing their...

My future family

My future family I hope that I'm going to live in detached house with my family. I'd like to have many children, because I grew up in big family. I think it's everybody's dream to have a nice house with a dog, who protects your home, and a loving husband and children. Well, it's mine too. I want my house to look like mansion, just not so big. We should have a cottage too, where we can rest at summers. But at one thing I'm sure. I want to have a job. I don't want to stay at home. Of course I'm going to be at home when my kinds are young, but after that I want to have a job. My dream is to own my own restaurant. If that all happens some day, I'll be very happy wife, mother, co-worker, friend and so on. I hope this will come true. Meelike Loit K109

Should a man be a househusband

Should a man be a househusband? Should a man be a househusband? It is a pretty popular subject nowadays. The phenomenon of strong women is more and more urgent, whereas more and more men stay at home as househusbands. This phenomenon causes many people to wonder whether this is a positive change. If this is true, can it be done without having a negative effect on the family? In my opinion, a man should earn money for his family, but taking care of the house and kids should be women's chores, because every child needs mother's care and attention. Otherwise lack of it may be seen in the future and father cannot replace mother. Furthermore, men are not going to stand still and watch it uselessly. Most of them think of themselves as the family heads and they have an obsession about being the successful ones. But behind every successful man there is a woman, and it is a boost for men's ego, because they ha...

I have found the advertisement in the Internet and I am going to ask some questions. First of all I wonder if pets are allowed in the house of family booking? We have a dog and that would be really very difficult to leave him at home alone for two weeks. What about extra fee car parking? How much would it cost? Is there a fridge in the kitchen? I am also interested in price. All the rent costs 252 €? Including bed linen & towels? Or we have to take along our toiletries? And finally: What about internet access? Do you have it? Looking forward to your answer, ...

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace The history of the original building dates back to the early 1700's and finally became the official residence of the British monarch in 1837 after Queen Victoria came to the throne. George III bought Buckingham House in 1761 for his wife Queen Charlotte to use as a comfortable family home close to St James's Palace, where many court functions were held. Buckingham House became known as the Queen's House, and 14 of George III's 15 children were born there. Buckingham Palace is not only the home of the Queen and Prince Philip but also the London residence of the Duke of York (Prince Andrew) and the Earl and Countess of Wessex (Prince Edward and his wife) and their daughter. The 19 State Rooms at the palace are regularly used by the Royal family to entertain guests on their State, ceremonial and official visits to the United Kingdom. One day, about 11 years ago I was home with my family. My mother was cooking a delicious fish for me and for my brother . We were hungry. I went to the kitchen and I saw a cooked fish, and I just wanted to eat it all. But then a fishbone got stuck inside of my throat. I was crying because it hurt me very badly. Then my mother asked me: "Oh my god! What is it, dear son?" then she saw a fish on the ground. My mother called ambulance and we went to the car right after. When we arrived to the hospital, then some nurses came to me and put me on a wheeled bed. They rolled me to the room where they took the bone out of my throat. I was so shocked that they had to give me a tranquilizer. Doctors kept my family informed what was happening with me. I was in hospital for 2 days before I got back home. That is a small story about my childhood, when I was about 3 year's old kid.

Working at home or in an office - essee

Some people prefer working at home to working in an office. This has its own advantages and disadvantages. First of all when you work at home you do not have to follow schedule every day you can wake up when you want, and finish work when you see fit. This allows you to spend more time with friends and family. Working at home helps to save money. You do not have to spend money on transportation every day and also for lunch. You can have home coocked meal which is always cheaper then eating out. On the other hand working at home can make you very lazy. Also at home you do not have enogh motivation to work, especially when there is something good coming on television. All in all i think that working at home is much better than working in an office because it has more advantages than disadvantages.

Report

According to the latest Census, the aim of this report is to figure out how much time people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. As expected, women occupy most of their time on child care. However it is surprising that they spend nearly one fifth on building. The reason for this may be due to men having more jobs outside of the home, earning money for the family. On the basis of the points mentioned above, men and women share in doing all tasks in caring for the household. However, wome...

Living and working abroad

Living and working abroad Living and working abroad may be better than in your home country. That can only be figured out by looking at your advantages and disadvantages that will occur. Starting with the advantages, the biggest advantage would be new experience. Learning a new culture and the way the people live, what they eat, how they dress, how they talk to each other, is a fantastic new experience. It can also involve more travelling around the world, learning more and more new cultures, meeting new people and getting smarter all the time. Earning money depending on my home country: Estonia, will be better ,because the economy in Estonia is very bad. The disadvantages are mostly leaving your family far away. Getting to birthdays and events involving your family will be very hard. Also when you go living in a new country, there will be a foreign language. Working at home or in an office

Working at home or in an office With the development of communication technology many companies offer their employees a possibility to work at home instead of going to office every day. This option has many positive sides but also some negative. Firstly working at home is more comfortable for workers. Their working schedule is more flexible because work has to be done for certain date and if they do their work faster then there is more free time to be with a family, play sports etc. In many cases workers who work at home are more creative and their working results are better. Sometimes lack of inspiration or poor working results may be caused by the small office. Working at home has also some negative sides. When working at home workers can not communicate with each others from face to face. In my opinion teamwork is very important in most of the companies. They did not pay much attention to it because they thought it was just wind. A few weeks later, when they arrived home around 1 pm and found their dog, who almost never barked, barking and acting very strange. He was barking at their garage. The family at first thought it was a cat or some other small animal; the father turned his attention to the garage. The whole family then went to see what was going on, when they opened the old squeaking garage door; they saw an old lady who was sitting in a chair rocking back and forth very slowly. THE VALUE OF THINGS VS THE PRICE OF THINGS

Anna-Maria THE VALUE OF THINGS VS THE PRICE OF THINGS The price and value of things has changed a lot of over the times. Every person value things variously. It depends on people, what they think is important for them, some people value expensive things like diamonds or highly rated technology, some people on the other value things that are not financially valuable, like family, love or friends. The value of things is quite different from the price of things. A good example to prove it, is Apple. The price of Apple products are simply overrated. Iphone is like any other phone, but people buy it just to be popular and because everyone else are buying them. For Apple it is good of course, because they are serving benefits. Other example are designer clothes. The value of these clothing items are like clothes from basics s...

She's apprehensive about moving in with her dad, Charlie, who is the town's sheriff. Up until now, they have only ever spent parts of summers together. Bella hasn't been to Forks in three years. A doll house

Professor Kavanaugh 1 December 2011 Word Count: 968 Essay Topic #7: Ibsen's A Doll House A doll house is a visually appealing home for an equally perfect doll to live in. In Ibsen's "A Doll House" the values of society were related only to the visual appearance of one's home and family. Social acceptance dictated Torvald and Nora's lives, including their relationship. Torvald can be assumed as not only the owner of this "doll house" but of Nora, his "doll", as well. Their marriage had the constant pressures of the image of perfection, and it is this tension that corrupts their relationship. It also forces Nora to realize the self-centered nature of her husband. Nora ultimately changes her resemblance of Torvald's "doll" and becomes an independent and confrontational woman, creating a great contrast with the title of this play. The standards on social ...

Dear Liisa Lovely to hear from you after so long! It’s a great tragedy that the COVID-19 is out and about but we just have to make the most of it and protect ourselves and our loved ones. After being in isolation for only two days a realization hit me. I realized that everything that I took for granted was going to change. As many other, I didn’t thought that Estonia is going to suffer greatly from the virus outbreak and everything is going to proceed as usual. Life goes on. But it doesn’t. I became aware of the problem after my sister and I had a talk about immunity. I myself have lived many years with runny nose and I don’t worry too much about it but I really never thought about my little sister and mom. They both have had some serious issues with their health and I don’t want my actions to harm their wellbeing in any way. Because of that our family has stayed isolated for 10 days now. The first few days were like a cakewalk and...

My dream home

My dream home My dream home would be a beautiful two-storey detached house in a small town. The house is surrounded by a nice garden full of gorgeous plants and a lot of types of flowers. I would also hire a gardener, so I can have time for my other duties. There are many spacious rooms in my house that are in well-lit and pastel tones. There are a living room, a kitchen and lightly coloured guest room on the ground floor. On the first floor there is also a living room, two nurseries, a toilet and a study with a bookshelf that covers the entire wall. I would hang pictures of my travelles on the walls, so it's easier to talk about my trips to my friends and family. As I'm the quiet type I would like to have the house in the suburbs. I think it would be nice if it were to be a gated community.
