He made Snowball, who was the leader before him, leave the farm and usurped the power. All of the animals were brainwashed. Napoleon was a good manipulator and made animals do everything he wanted them to. He and some other pigs moved to the farmhouse although it was agreed from the beginning that no animal should go in there. Pigs also slept in the beds and did other things that they were not actually supposed to. Pigs were smarter than other animals, so they secretly changed the seven commandments and tricked the others so that they did not understand what was going on.
