There are a lot of straight drainage systems, ditches and dykes near the forests and farmlands which used to be excessively damp. This contributes a lot to the flooding in the spring, because the water will reach the main river in a very short time. The flood plain grasslands located along the riverbanks are the typical example of plant communities formed as a result of the joint influence of river floods and human activities.
